80% of MUT players would disagree? I'd like to see the data supporting that statement, or did you make it up?

I think you don't understand what the term "gambling" means...

Is that it for gameplay? At work so haven't played yet. Do TE's still randomly walk (player clip/ghost) right through the QB when breaking the huddle? Have they cleaned up the physics mainly after the whistle has blown the play dead with players limbs fusing together, players walking through other player's bodies, etc...? These are immersion killers that need to be addressed.

So is anyone seeing any differences to gameplay after the patch?

I'm still playing every day I can ootb. Totally enjoying it, but I most likely will be downloading the big February patch. If anything it will be like playing like a new and different football game.

I'm with you. Enjoying what I have ootb with some player editing and occasionally having to sim punts. If there is a big patch in February that addresses enough cfm concerns I'll try it. If I don't like it I'll Go back to the ootb version.

Beyond that - how many times do we have to have the tired discussion based on a false premise? The MUT team and Franchise team are two fully-staffed groups comprised of entirely different sets of people. One doesn't have general-case priority over the other.
If Plessy vs Ferguson taught us anything, it's that separate but equal doesn't really mean separate but equal. Sure they are 2 different teams but who do you think gets the bigger chunk of the budget?

Okay, you've lost me: what the heck does a Supreme Court decision from 1896 which was reversed in 1954 have to do with Madden NFL the video game? This is not a politics or civics forum.

Franchise. Unquestionably. I know this for a fact based on conversations with the people I work with who possess first-hand knowledge of how the Madden development team has operated over the past several years.

MUT basically runs itself with the exception of a small-ish content team, that team which creates new cards / sets / events / etc. Madden Mobile has a separate content team which keeps that game running. When there are new features to implement such as chemistries, MUT has its own engineers as well, but not as many as other modes.

Franchise on the other hand requires an engineering team for any feature work / bug fixes to happen and is fully-staffed full-time. Franchise remains split between the Tiburon team in Florida for most of the client-side work, while the satellite office in Austin handles the vast majority of the server-side stuff.

The development bottleneck for both modes is a shared UI/UX team, which has dominion over the UI/UX of the entire game. For Madden 17, the UI/UX team was focused almost entirely on adding new screens and fixing existing screens in Franchise.

Wish this would fix the freezing issue in CFM, which makes the game freeze on a starting games loading screen every ****ing time I sign free agents and do changes to my roster.

Is that all they added?

We'll see. After these last few patched having "unintended" consequences my faith is quite low.

A small thing they added with this Patch was adding more User skill move banners. So instead of just showing things like "User Pick", it now shows things like, "User Finesse Move", "User Truck", or "User Juke" when you successfully execute one of those moves.

Yeah I'll definitely wait on feedback first. I'm curious to hear if the is any effect on this patch.

I noticed this while playing and think it's redundant and that it adds unnecessary "noise" to the screen.

I mean, if I'm on offense and I spin and succeed, don't I already know that it's a "user spin?" And if I am a rusher on defense and I conduct a successful rush move, don't I already know that it's a "user finesse move?"

It's not a game-killer, but I'm wondering 1) How many people are confused enough about who is doing what in their game that they need a banner to confirm who did what re: user moves, or 2) How many people have small enough egos that they need them stroked by recognitions of every successful button press they perform?

Other than that minor annoyance, my CFM game is playing out normally. I'm not seeing any immediate negatives in game play.

You want EA to troubleshoot your specific problem? The freezing you're describing isn't common, and I suspect you have a corrupted file.

The economics just don't seem to be there to push this in any other direction. CFM is an embarrassment as an immersive single player franchise mode, but its time to accept that this just isn't the goal of the mode.
I want a lot of changes/improvements but I think Madden 17 is far from an "embarrassment," even in franchise mode.

Is it superfluous? Yeah probably so, but it's not that intrusive IMO, and it's not really for us here. I do think that many players do like that little acknowledgement of pulling off successful moves in the game, especially casual players, IMO.

Just thought I'd chip in on the conversation. Most of you already know my opinion. I have been screaming about the punting since day one. Every now and then I still get the lock up and the lock out when playing my franchise using play of the moment. Actually it's the only way I play.

The punting is and has been my biggest issue. I can make other features that don't work well playable through adjusting sliders and changing player ratings. I have to live with simming the punts now but it takes so much out of the game. If I could I would take the time to move every team and build them a domed stadium just to fix it. But I can't.

One of the issues that is driving me crazy is something I can't fix and it is visual. Since the last patch I never get snow games. I loved playing in the snow. I loved seeing the footprints, the breath of the players. I just played a playoff game in Green Bay. The announcer said it was freezing cold. The sun was shining like I was in Miami; the crowd was in tee shirts. Other than visual, I can't honestly say if the weather would have an effect on the game. But it definitely took some of the enjoyment away from the game.

So for myself, fix the punting, the lockups, the QB scramble and Acc issue. Give us sliders that actually work and please, please return the snow or give us control of the weather and wind affects.

Do I think this will happen? NO, I honestly believed until they told us there was a fix for the punting issue and then they didn't deliver it a few months ago. And still haven't. Then total silence except for Mut and OL patches. Roadman believes there will be a big game patch in FEB. I hope he is right, but as for myself. I think the next patch will be M18. I have completely lost the faith. I don’t have much choice though if I want to play a video FB game, this is my only option so I just have to play with the cards I have been dealt like everyone else.

It also might be true only because they've made some really bad design choices with CFM since getting rid of Franchise. If "not as many people play it" is the reason to not put more resources into an actual Franchise mode then it's just going to keep spiraling down.

I started a lions franchise so at least half my games would be in domes even though I hate domed stadiums. Football is an outside game. I tell my kids everyday, don't run in the house.

To me it's not so much about what the focus was, but how little the update does - it seems barely worth announcing?
