With you man. Madden 17 is a really good game, and the best football game made to date IMO. I am playing the crap out of it. It needs some more work no doubt, and we all want improvements. But the game is really, really solid, and franchise mode has been a lot of fun for the second straight year for me. I loved the improvements they made to franchise and game play and look forward to seeing it continue to evolve.

There are a lot of us who are singing the games praises and playing the hell out of it and at the same time giving good constructive feedback to the development team for further tuning and improvements.

We live in a age of instant social media.

If they didn't announce what the update was about, people would be climbing all over EA on Twitter and FB what does the update entail.

CleveClubby, I'm not saying there is a title update in February for the sake of saying it. I'm giving direct quotes on Twitter from Rex Dickson.

If you don't want me to relay that kind of info to OS, I'll gladly back off and not waste my time and let people find out the info on their own.

Funny you should mention that. Because for the longest time thats been the "reason" they dont put much as far as resources into CFM. Now since thats been the reason, i wonder what the reason will be next year. I recall an interview Rex did recently, and because he was wanting to make a point to "prove" CFM is much improved this year, he bragged about how much more activity they are seeing in CFM this year. I wish i could recall the % but i feel like it was an 80% increase of something.....So being it was a point to use to show how much they improved CFM..... shouldnt alot more resources go into CFM for 18 , since as stated before the reason they didnt was not enough were playing it ..... well now thats increased alot accroding to him so time to increase them funds......

I obviously wasn't the only one saying it, but to hear Rex in an interview repeat almost verbatim something that I said to him in a Tweet, reaffirms my belief that despite his having to serve very diverse gameplay styles, and sometimes making tuning choices that are antithetical to what many of us here want, he is still our staunches ally with this game.

Disseminating information is always better, regardless of the fact that some people will use whatever is shared as another opportunity to reiterate the things that they are angry about.

It would be so much easier to live with tuning updates if they gave us the ability to tune the game to our liking. Sliders that work and a slider for everything they tune. In fact, I would like to be able to download out of the box or any other tune they do within franchise.

Exactly, the bold above is exactly what we need.Along with , as you stated, a slider for everything. However first they would have to make the current ones actually work. Not only should they work, there should be some type of % number or some kinda of detail along the top bar of each on , to show you by moving the slider here or there, what it will effect , increase amount of , etc. But thats hard to do when you dont even know yourself what they do that well.Working sliders and sliders for everything would help alot.

I feel the same way. I hadn't played a Madden game since last gen but I am still enjoying this game - strictly an online CFM player. I'm into season 7 having played (no sim) every game other than preseason with 15 minute quarters/20 second run off so games take about an hour and 20 minutes to play. Needless to say I've put some time into this. I feel like the presentation and immersion is really pretty good. I think they did a great job with the salary structure so that it really makes you think about where you spend your money. I'm using the Bears and I got a number of guys with quick/superstar development in my first couple drafts...all good at the time but after 3-4 seasons when those rookie contracts were coming up I really had to think about where to spend that money.

It might help that I'm a decent but not great player and I found a slider set that was challenging for me so I'm still not dominating (far from it). In 6 seasons I've only made the playoffs twice and went out in the first game both times.

No, I think everyone appreciates the info you relay through tweets and so on. I would hope so.

Same and same. I'm loving the game this year. Playing more Madden than i have in over 10 years. So I'm also totally on board with the positive reinforcement to the devs, for things they are they are doing right. I definitely have certain issues, but overall I'm trying to focus on the many positives.

I just don't see how anyone can say his is the best football game ever when over ten years ago Michael Vick and Tom Brady did not play the same. I couldn't imagine the outcry if they made a game back then where Vick didn't run the ball. Even humans can't run the qb in a realistic way now. I know Vick was overpowered back then which made it feel arcade at times but qb's were different and dominate players dominated the game offensively and defensively.

To each their own but I feel if they don't fix some issues this game will be about the worst for it's time.

roadman. I've said it once I've said it a hundred times. I always look forward to your post, I know you would never post false information, My faith in EA has nothing to do with you. I know those were quotes from Rex and I appreciate you letting us know. It gives me a little hope. But I also know Rex tweeted there was a fix for the punting issue a couple of months ago that never developed. If there is going to be a patch as Rex stated, I hope it addresses the CFM issues. But at this point, I have my doubts and I'll believe it when I see it.

Then we are playing different games. I am easily seeing a difference between elite and average QB's on All-Pro with custom sliders.

In fact....in year one of my Raiders CFM Carr ironically went down for the season in week 16. Had to go with A combo of Conor Cook and then Mclovin....and then I got so desperate I signed Mark Sanchez off the wire and he proceeded to suck *** as I got bounced out of the post season in prompt fashion.

Year 2 I had Carr and won the Super Bowl.

In year 3 week 13 and going strong.

I use all the passing mechanics at my disposal too. Touch, lob, bullet, lead, comeback, over the shoulder etc.

I get nice variety, and yes contrary to popular belief here on OS I throw inaccurate passes too.

People who follow me on Twitch see all this on the streams.

The game is easily the most realistic console football video game to date.

Madden 16 was also great so two straight years for my $$$ they have done a solid for us sports gamers yearning for a nice next gen football game.

I completely un-installed the game, reinstalled and it still does the same thing, I don't think a corrupted file is the issue here. Wish I could experience the fun some of you are having with CFM, but so far, that seems impossible.

Just for clarification, it was Clint that tweeted about the kicking fix, they had it fixed, but didn't make it in.

Fingers and toes crossed this time around.

And for doubters out there...these two statements are directly related. If you just do 'push button passing', you're going to have issues with it being too easy to pass. If you use all the passing mechanics, it is MUCH more realistic.

Thanks Roadman, I stand corrected, I knew that just used wrong name. Also have fingers and toes crossed hoping for some results. BTW, Played a franchise game in Cleveland last night against Cinn. It was cold, no snow but you could see there breath and the crowd was wearing warm clothes along with the coaches. Life is like a box of Chocolates, never know what you're gonna get.

But isn't that the opposite of what it should be?

This is my experience too. I've used them at times all year but I would fall back into just hitting the button to pass. I've really made an effort over the last month to break that habit and use the mechanics and it really opened up my passing in terms of variety. I'm overthrowing down the field and wide left/right along the sidelines. Then there are plays where I choose correctly and toss one high and bring it down in the back of the endzone. It balances out.

I don't want to speak for him but I'm pretty sure what he is referring to is the fact that AI QB's are absolute statues in the pocket. Russell Wilson, Mariota, Taylor, Newton, none of the slew of mobile QB's behave in the pocket any different than a Tom Brady, Roethlisberger, Rivers or Palmer. They all just stand in and are never a threat to run. Same goes for general pocket awareness. They're all equally terrible at avoiding pressure or getting the ball out if there isn't someone open.
