Some more tweaks and fixes are coming to NBA 2K17. Gameplay Director Mike Wang, AKA Beluba, has posted some of the details on Twitter. Check them out below.

Fair Warning: Shot timing will become more difficult soon. It's too easy right now cause I had to compensate for the shot meter glitch.
When I undo my band-aid fix, you will see a noticeable drop in the frequency of green releases, so enjoy them while they last.
Sharpshooters will be just fine. But nobody should be averaging 80+% from 3PT range.
Pass speeds, moving screens and defense are being looked at as well. And yes, we know about the Relentless Finisher issue. Will fix asap.
It's not going to be as drastic as some of you think. I'm just prepping you all that the timing band-aid is going away after XB gets 1.04
Just addressing those who are saying that shooting is too easy and FG% are too high. I'm aware of it.
I have to ask. Is the shooting really that ridiculous on the PS4???
I'm a XB1 user.
In MyPark it gets pretty ridiculous if you run into the right players. Especially if they use a park card. I wish they would tone the effectiveness of those cards or just remove them all together
It's never going to happen of course, but looking at Mike's twitter, it's more clear than ever that there really should be at least 2 different 2K basketball games.
In so many people's mind, 90+ 3pt shooting ratings, plus badges, means that 80%+ shooting on open three pointers should be a normal thing.
They couldn't care less about actual NBA statistical norms, they want superhuman video game abilities to rule the day.
I think the NBA 2K fandom is exponentially worse than the Madden fandom in this regard. Not even taking into account the flaws that occur when implementing various gameplay systems, tuning for the 2K customer base is beyond nightmarish.

Exactly sir. This will never change. What you just wrote, only a few people here will agree with and that number is getting lower. The sim guys who make this site are fading away. Its becoming more a arcade mentality everyday
Can we get a fix for online matchmaking? The duplicate team matchups are annoying. I hate picking the Knicks only to matched up with another opponent who picked the Knicks also for example. Or at least give us the option to back out of the menu if we find ourselves in that situation....

Makes me wonder what Madden players complain about that's consider "sim", but the arcade people are like "Learn how to play.".
Any chance they're going to update the fatigue issues at halftime in myGM? There's no reason guys should come out for the second half without regaining any energy compared to how they ended the first half. It makes the gameplay completely unrealistic.
First, I saw this coming as soon as they announced the fix. I figured they'd put a band aid on, and take it off once the antiseptic came out (the patch/meter fix).
My only concern is it'll nerf my off dribble shooting with my slasher, as I grinded to add some outside Hotspot locations and badges to my arsenal. Fun fact, Currently step back 3s have been wet for me.
If they get nerfed, I'll live. The tone down will fix a major issue which is the shooting online. And yes, for the guys about to say it, they SHOULD separate online and offline. I know. Don't flood me with replies saying that. I'm acknowledging now.
The amount of silly shots that drop are astounding. I don't mean squared up, wide open shots. I don't mean limitless range threes(Which I'm fine with, surprisingly). I mean the running through screens, off balance, hand in your face BS that I see. I wouldn't care if it was a once every few games thing, or a guy was hot. If I let the guy get going, it's my fault. But this is consistent. Too consistent. Teams winning with 7/8 from 3 in park, While my team is running the best switch defense possible.
A lot of people think all park players want is NBA Jam. No. I personally want flashy basketball that is still grounded in reality. They can do crazy roll on the ground dribbles, or 360 double windmill dunks. I don't care as long as 1. A human can do it, and 2. The game is still grounded as "Good basketball wins".
Currently the "Good basketball wins" has been a Rollercoaster. It was better in 2k14, dropped in 15, re appeared towards the tail end of 16, and existed briefly in 17. I'm not saying one man shouldn't abuse his mismatch, but kids with no IQ hitting shots that have no business hitting the rim, must less splashing home is an issue. Reward good basketball.
Skill is a combination of stick skills and IQ. If you can green every jumpshot, that's not skill, that's muscle memory. Skill is knowing that coming off the baseline cut, you have just enough time to turn, fire, and green it. Skill is knowing that you can pump, pass out, take 3 steps and get it back to fire.
It's both. It's not skill to do dribble moves. It's skill to do the exact sequence to blow by a whole team because you correctly read the way the defense would set up. You can't make the play without the stick control. You can't make the play without the anticipation and reading skill. You need both.
I think a lot of people don't understand that skill runs deeper than the call of duty definition here. That's why this discussion gets toxic quick. Everyone is "The best". And no one can accept that they might be bad at something. This breeds ideology like: "The game is broken, I'm not taking bad shots". Or "I'm just good, it's your fault for not knowing defense".
This street goes both ways, don't get me wrong. But the common thing I've encountered is kids and adults who don't know anything about basketball other than put the ball through the net and Kobe. These are the guys that have 6 TOs, but scored 7 to your 5 and think they are superior.
It's hard to balance both, and in fact you cannot have both. Not online. And that brings us back to square one. I'm at a loss for a solution.
So Mike what about fastbreaks offline, I find that the cpu is catching up like they are skating down the floor and I'm stuck in mud. I have had Kristapis Porzingis catch Kyrie Irving off a steal turned fast break by the time he hit the free throw line on the other end of the court, that should not be happening. I am not sure if tuning the defense will help but it would be nice to run a true fastbreak. If you are reading this thanks!!
tuning for the 2K customer base is beyond nightmarish.
While true, it's a problem of their own making. They're clearly biting off more than they can chew and it's frustrating when certain decisions are made to really entice folks to spend their money on VC while multi-year bugs/exploits persist.
HAPPY that 2k has been so proactive with patches, updates, etc., but...DISGUSTED with the state of the game at release. How does a game that's so broken get released? Is the current state of sports gaming to release on the traditional date and let the community bug test? I just don't understand how, to use the most egregious example, subs not working after timeouts wasn't caught before release...
I haven't played in about a week and a half, and I'll probably just sit out and come back in a month or so. That that is even a sensible option speaks to how inexcusably messed up the game is on so many levels.
I wish this update comes today as it's needed and important for our Online League to have its start clean as simheads. It's also odd that we have to wait for xbox now. Because we have the patch ps4 and the game went upside down with unbalanced stuff again per usual this year.
-_- my guy keeps sliding around on defense player feels broken at times. kind of feels like everything just stops working
best way i can explain it is its like a little hickup glitch that happens during gameplay and it like just breaks my player down and makes him move awkward. its actually hard to explain unless your behind my sticks controlling it.
Can we get the ability to watch CPU & Your own teams games in MYGM? A lot of us put so much time into building a team and it would be nice to see how they play with the CPU controlling them. And watching playoff games would be interesting.
Can we get players career playoff stats by year in MYGM. Playoffs is what you work toward in my gm & not keeping track of career playoff stats and an individuals finals stats it a little disappointing.
Also, green releases shouldn't guarantee a make, it should just greatly improve your chance of making the shot. A perfect release from a 50 rated 3point shooter should still miss more often than not.
To me, none of that matters if the game isn't slowed down. Guys are skating around out everywhere and there just doesn't feel like there's any weight to the players.
Also, I'm sure I'm far from the first to mention this, but all the hype about the authentic arena sounds and crowds was borderline fraudulent. It's awful.
Methinks this one is making a trip back to the good people at Amazon.
