Madden NFL 17 News Post


Madden NFL 17 title update #2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it includes fixes to gameplay, franchise, and Ultimate Team modes. Check out the details below.

Gameplay
  • Tuned Wide Receivers dropping wide open passes to be less frequent
  • Auto-Moves now set to OFF for all MUT Solo Challenges
  • Player-Lock camera fixes
  • Tuned Auto-Broken Tackles to be less frequent
  • Variety of defensive run-game tuning fixes
  • Strip-Ball exploit fixed
  • Fixed issue around clock running out on a defensive penalty
  • Fixed issue with QB’s unable to tackle after throwing an Interception
  • Fixed a variety of rare Special Teams issues
  • Defensive tuning vs. stretch/outside zone runs
  • Addressed a variety of fatigue-related issues
  • Nano-detection System improvements
  • Nano-detection System disabled for user vs. CPU games
  • Fixed 'Ice the Kicker' not functioning in certain situations
  • Addressed users holding kick button to take a delay penalty and re-kicking
  • Fixed issue with user not being able to switch players in co-op play
  • Tuned to WR/DB positioning on streak routes
  • Tuning & Adaptive AI to Linebacker fake-out chances vs. counter plays to make defensive reaction better
  • Kick-Meter Accuracy Range increased on All-Pro & All-Madden
  • Decreased 'nearby player' penalty for defender interceptions, making Interceptions more frequent
Franchise
  • Added ability to save/resume solo Cloud Franchise games
  • Head to head Cloud games will now default to the standard camera
  • Fixed issue where players on IR were counting against active roster
  • Fixed issue where user to user trades could be auto accepted when week advances
  • Many stats and ratings menus are now in widescreen format
  • Fixed issue where some heads appeared incorrect while editing
  • Addressed stability issues in Play the Moment, Training, Formation Subs, and Schemes
  • Fixed issue where some players with preexisting injuries would never return to health
  • Addressed issue where stats are not showing properly when viewed on team goals menu
  • Tuned game regression that can occur for quarterbacks
  • Fixed issue where defensive rookie of the year can show up as offensive player of the year
  • Removed ability for kneeling QBs to be hurt while simminng
  • Adjusted fatigue during Play the Moments
  • Punter stats are now visible in the menus
  • Draft Classes will now have varying penalty traits
  • Highlights menu is now available when ending the game on a simmed play
  • Going for it on 4th downs in Play the Moments have been tuned
  • Strategy suggestions in play call will now track multiple concepts
Ultimate Team
  • Added the ability to add multiple items to a set at once (“Batch-Add-to-Set”)
  • Improved MUT substitution screen UI
  • Chemistry art modifications (larger images!!)
  • Addressed the issue where filters in the Auction House would disappear
  • Addressed the issue where the “Unopened Packs” tile would show 0 even if you had packs unopened
  • Surfaced the “restart” button when failing a Solo Challenge
  • Game speed is set to default for all difficulties including Rookie and Pro (no longer “Slow”)
  • Auto Subs in MUT Solo Challenges are now working correctly

Completely agree. Hopefully next year EA will give us better sliders that actually make more difference that are capable of helping us move our game play away from the arcadey non sim style of gameplay that Madden always becomes after a few patches because of the online crowd. If they would just do that then they could make the default settings/game as non sim as they want and we could just adjust our sliders to make the game play how we want it too. I do realize this is a video game and it likely won't really ever play completely 100% realistic but the thing that really makes it stink even more is the fact that the game played pretty great pre patch with adjusted sliders.

Did they remove the ability to edit cpu uniforms before the games? I don't have that option anymore...

I think the tuner might be the culprit for some unwanted areas of game play, I kept the recent patch but didn't download the tuner to a new profile. I will play a few more games in CFM on AM level and report about the findings.

What is the difference between the tuner and the patch ?

Came to ask this. Seems to be a new tuner played last night and there was no update and about 12 hours later I just got one.

Per Rex, mostly for fumbles/strip sacks.

Clint was more direct, fumbles and only fumbles. lol

Clint also confirmed again that pass accuracy was not tuned and there will be a fix at some point for the punting issue.

No I don't. People like you are the ones that think that anybody that wants some things to stay a bit easy automatically want it to be like NFL blitz.

I don't play online. I play mostly offline CFM, and I want to play it MY way, not somebody else's. The draft classes were fine, the running game was fine, and the deep passing game was fine, and the drops ARE too numerous.

Just like the xp in madden 15 was fine. Nobody HAD to spend all of their xp, nobody HAD to auto upgrade their players. People could have been selective, about how they spend their xp. But no, some people had to cry about it the whole season, and when madden 16 came out, they nerfed it so badly that it was pathetic.

Oh and then, in madden 16, they finally made the Deep passing functional again after it hadn't been since I don't know when, and what happened, people cried about that the whole season, and they nerfed that, and now in madden 17 it's been nerfed to the point, that aggressive catch might as well not even be in the game anymore, and I have to crank the user sliders up, and crank the CPU sliders down, including the speed disparity slider, so that my low 90's WR, with mid 90's speed, and low 90's catching ratings, plays like he should.

These are my problems.

Well it seems we are speakingon 2 totally different arenas of madden but the results are still the same.

No deep passes should be automatic and as frequently thrown the way they are in madden as opposed to real life tendencies and there are several reasons why it doesnt happen soo much in real life regardless of madden being just a GAME!

All i ever want patches for is exploits or broken features, not dumbing down the game at all.

As it stands online there are people who have figured out how to not play defense in this game and use a 1 play formation and shuts EVERYTHING down regardless of offensive formation and personell!

Damn near same on offense with mobile QBs who b line it east or west and the defense breaks coverage and WRs are open!

Those are my issues

between 5 and 7 is the way to go for human accuracy on all pro.

Believe it or not I actually agree with you whole heartedly, that is WHY I don't play online very much at all, however I still say that if you are going to have a ratings system and a slider system, and if I put the time and effort into developing players to get them into the mid or upper 90s, the ratings and sliders should work FULLY, and my players should play like they are in the mid to upper 90s, and catch most of the passes I through them.

If not then what is the point in a ratings system and slider system that is user editable?

Did you confirm this RM. The Punting and wind issue will be addressed. ??? This will be a huge fix for me. I just did a complete reinstall last night around midnight Eastern time. Turned the game on early this morning to find the new commentary and tuning file. Didn't know what it did, couldn't find any info, checked this board and didn't see anything about it. Just thought that I missed something in the reinstall. So I installed it. If they fix the wind or punts, As far as I am concerned the game will be very playable with a little sliders work. The only issue I am still experiencing is the Freeze now and then when playing Play of the moment against the CPU. Once it freezes usually after FG or a score. I have to close it down. It saves but when trying to re-open , I get the error code and blue screen of death. All I can do is delete it. Same thing with any save I try. My friend also freezes but he can open his saved game, But the controller now controls the CPU team. Strange stuff...

like i said, some were zone-read plays, some were scrambles. from what i recall, all the scramble runs occurred when my edge rushers were pushed way back behind him & then one of my ILB who had been covering a RB/TE who stayed into block then blitzed. cam would either take off or shrug them off before running.

I have to assume if it comes from the developers twitter account, that is already verified, don't you agree.

It will be fixed at some point.

The crazy thing to is that with out the tuner I played a game with slider settings that should make it harder to pass the ball then I was playing at with the tuner yet I found guys getting open more with harder settings but no tuner lol. With the tuner on all pro I had CPU pass coverage at 50 and reaction at like 10 and yet I was having like 3-5 INT most games and a lot of like around 50% completion games. Then I play a game with out the tuner and with both pass coverage and reaction at 50 for the CPU and I have zero INT and have a completion % of like 83. Such a big difference and I do better with settings that should make it harder not easier. Just one game but still a big difference.

I think that may be true. I had issues with the first tuner and seeing way more blocked kicks. I heard no one complain about blocks kicks with the first tuner but for me it was something I was seeing. Like 17-18 games with out the first tuner I see like 3 CPU blocked kicks. Then with tuner I get blocked like 6 times in just 4-5 games. So I saw 2 times has many blocks in like 4 times less games. That is a increase of like 800% big difference. After that I got rid of the patch and had no issues at all.

Halftime. All-pro is starting to feel like all-pro again. My 3rd competitive game. Slight slider settings. No tuner. I will finally start my cfm.....again lol
