Madden NFL 17 News Post


Madden NFL 17 title update #2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it includes fixes to gameplay, franchise, and Ultimate Team modes. Check out the details below.

Gameplay
  • Tuned Wide Receivers dropping wide open passes to be less frequent
  • Auto-Moves now set to OFF for all MUT Solo Challenges
  • Player-Lock camera fixes
  • Tuned Auto-Broken Tackles to be less frequent
  • Variety of defensive run-game tuning fixes
  • Strip-Ball exploit fixed
  • Fixed issue around clock running out on a defensive penalty
  • Fixed issue with QB’s unable to tackle after throwing an Interception
  • Fixed a variety of rare Special Teams issues
  • Defensive tuning vs. stretch/outside zone runs
  • Addressed a variety of fatigue-related issues
  • Nano-detection System improvements
  • Nano-detection System disabled for user vs. CPU games
  • Fixed 'Ice the Kicker' not functioning in certain situations
  • Addressed users holding kick button to take a delay penalty and re-kicking
  • Fixed issue with user not being able to switch players in co-op play
  • Tuned to WR/DB positioning on streak routes
  • Tuning & Adaptive AI to Linebacker fake-out chances vs. counter plays to make defensive reaction better
  • Kick-Meter Accuracy Range increased on All-Pro & All-Madden
  • Decreased 'nearby player' penalty for defender interceptions, making Interceptions more frequent
Franchise
  • Added ability to save/resume solo Cloud Franchise games
  • Head to head Cloud games will now default to the standard camera
  • Fixed issue where players on IR were counting against active roster
  • Fixed issue where user to user trades could be auto accepted when week advances
  • Many stats and ratings menus are now in widescreen format
  • Fixed issue where some heads appeared incorrect while editing
  • Addressed stability issues in Play the Moment, Training, Formation Subs, and Schemes
  • Fixed issue where some players with preexisting injuries would never return to health
  • Addressed issue where stats are not showing properly when viewed on team goals menu
  • Tuned game regression that can occur for quarterbacks
  • Fixed issue where defensive rookie of the year can show up as offensive player of the year
  • Removed ability for kneeling QBs to be hurt while simminng
  • Adjusted fatigue during Play the Moments
  • Punter stats are now visible in the menus
  • Draft Classes will now have varying penalty traits
  • Highlights menu is now available when ending the game on a simmed play
  • Going for it on 4th downs in Play the Moments have been tuned
  • Strategy suggestions in play call will now track multiple concepts
Ultimate Team
  • Added the ability to add multiple items to a set at once (“Batch-Add-to-Set”)
  • Improved MUT substitution screen UI
  • Chemistry art modifications (larger images!!)
  • Addressed the issue where filters in the Auction House would disappear
  • Addressed the issue where the “Unopened Packs” tile would show 0 even if you had packs unopened
  • Surfaced the “restart” button when failing a Solo Challenge
  • Game speed is set to default for all difficulties including Rookie and Pro (no longer “Slow”)
  • Auto Subs in MUT Solo Challenges are now working correctly

cam destroyed me with his legs in one game. every time i beat the OL, he took off for big yards. tried QB spying him but that didn't work. they ran the option a dozen times too effectively.

This is really hard to believe. The only time cam did something with his leg was in QB option. If it's a broken pass play he stay still and have little pocket movement.

Next time I play a mobile qb, I'm giving him the Paranoid trait and balanced force passes. This should force the cpu to attempt an escape more often and he will still be balanced or ideal Force passes.

Major props to you for 1 trying this and 2 sharing it with us. I really think you found something here. It doesn't fix all the problems, but man, its like a totally different game. I think we can work with this. Again, thank you very much. Great find!

I think I am going to try this now. I don't know why I didn't try with out the tuner sooner. It may be the tuner and not the patch that is a problem. I Know after the first tuner came out I got rid of it because it brook the game for me. Before the first tuner I had seen the CPU block one of my kicks like 3 times in 18 games. After the first tuner I saw like 6 CPU blocks in just like 4-5 games. So what's to say this tuner didn't cause some odd stuff like the first one did for me?

Except that is exactly what it means, because it is not real. It is 3D character models many of which are controlled by the CPU. These games are supposed to be a bit fanciful, because that is essentially why people play video games. To do and see things they would not ordinarily do and see.

It seems like you and I have the same issue with HUM Acc, can you offer any more info what the game played like with the patch but without the tuner... did you try this set up on AM too?

I disagree. I would love to see ordinary things that I see on Sunday.

See that's the thing, I'm coming from AM with patch and tuner. Back to all-pro, with patch but no tuner. Honestly at this point I'm probably comparing apples to oranges. I apologize in advance, if this whole thing means nothing. Because all-pro was already getting a good post patch review. But anyway all-pro is playing great at default. Imo though there is slider tweaks needed. As to user qb acc. I started another game with acc slider at 5 for my qb. It appeared to make a huge difference. It was just a couple plays, but I have hope every qb will not look like Dan Marino. But trust me, I know how sliders work. But user qb acc at 5 looked to make a huge difference.

Thanks man, I'm really hoping. It's mid October and now I'm rushing to get my cfm started again. And this past week I had so little time. Edit: Again I apologize if it doesn't do anything with no tuner

So I played a game with out the tuner and of course I need a bigger sample size but it felt a lot different. The CPU still had a high completion % how ever I had a high % to and before with the tuner I was having a hard time completing pass and not getting INT and having a lot of my passes tipped. It felt like guys where getting open a lot more with out the tuner then with it. Also CPU was able to have 1 big run a 40 yard TD. With the tuner I don't think I had seen the CPU with more then like a 15 yard run in like 7 games.

I know its probably been mentioned and asked before but how do you delete the tuner.... I'm on Xbox 1. I'm willing to try anything to get some of these issues sorted out.

Robo qb is once again ruining the game for me. I know madden has a wide variety of fans they need to satisfy but what happened to qb inaccuracies? Why is every qb able to make every throw consistently? Why are guys like Sanchez dotting me up and why are weaker armed qb throwing pefect deep balls?

I wanna see Kaepernick make inaccurate throws, they don't all have to be incompletions but maybe the wr has to adjust and falls down and can't get the RAC.

As it stands know every incompletion I see is an interception, qb getting hit while throwing and the ball goes 3 yards, a throw away, or a reciever not getting his feet down. Rarely seeing any off the mark passes that hit the dirt or are just out of the receivers reach. It just makes the game so dull.

Again it all comes down to working sliders. If we had them this wouldn't be an issue. Every year madden patches in robot qb. If the accuracy slider worked we can drop that down to say 25 and qbs should play like their real life counter parts.

But the online crowd doesn't like innacurate throws so we all must suffer.

One thing I can say. The game is playing 100 times better with no tuner on all-pro than AM with tuner. For me. Maybe it's all-pro is simply just playing way better than all madden, idk.
