Madden NFL 17 News Post


Madden NFL 17 title update #2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it includes fixes to gameplay, franchise, and Ultimate Team modes. Check out the details below.

Gameplay
  • Tuned Wide Receivers dropping wide open passes to be less frequent
  • Auto-Moves now set to OFF for all MUT Solo Challenges
  • Player-Lock camera fixes
  • Tuned Auto-Broken Tackles to be less frequent
  • Variety of defensive run-game tuning fixes
  • Strip-Ball exploit fixed
  • Fixed issue around clock running out on a defensive penalty
  • Fixed issue with QB’s unable to tackle after throwing an Interception
  • Fixed a variety of rare Special Teams issues
  • Defensive tuning vs. stretch/outside zone runs
  • Addressed a variety of fatigue-related issues
  • Nano-detection System improvements
  • Nano-detection System disabled for user vs. CPU games
  • Fixed 'Ice the Kicker' not functioning in certain situations
  • Addressed users holding kick button to take a delay penalty and re-kicking
  • Fixed issue with user not being able to switch players in co-op play
  • Tuned to WR/DB positioning on streak routes
  • Tuning & Adaptive AI to Linebacker fake-out chances vs. counter plays to make defensive reaction better

Franchise
  • Added ability to save/resume solo Cloud Franchise games
  • Head to head Cloud games will now default to the standard camera
  • Fixed issue where players on IR were counting against active roster
  • Fixed issue where user to user trades could be auto accepted when week advances
  • Many stats and ratings menus are now in widescreen format
  • Fixed issue where some heads appeared incorrect while editing
  • Addressed stability issues in Play the Moment, Training, Formation Subs, and Schemes
  • Fixed issue where some players with preexisting injuries would never return to health
  • Addressed issue where stats are not showing properly when viewed on team goals menu
  • Tuned game regression that can occur for quarterbacks
  • Fixed issue where defensive rookie of the year can show up as offensive player of the year
  • Removed ability for kneeling QBs to be hurt while simminng
  • Adjusted fatigue during Play the Moments
  • Punter stats are now visible in the menus
  • Draft Classes will now have varying penalty traits
  • Highlights menu is now available when ending the game on a simmed play
  • Going for it on 4th downs in Play the Moments have been tuned
  • Strategy suggestions in play call will now track multiple concepts
Ultimate Team
  • Added the ability to add multiple items to a set at once (“Batch-Add-to-Set”)
  • Improved MUT substitution screen UI
  • Chemistry art modifications (larger images!!)
  • Addressed the issue where filters in the Auction House would disappear
  • Addressed the issue where the “Unopened Packs” tile would show 0 even if you had packs unopened
  • Surfaced the “restart” button when failing a Solo Challenge
  • Game speed is set to default for all difficulties including Rookie and Pro (no longer “Slow”)
  • Auto Subs in MUT Solo Challenges are now working correctly

Although to be totally honest, all madden plays great. Except for the cpu qb. But let's face it, that's an enormous part of the cpu offense. Everything else is actually really, really good. I was just so focused on one thing.

I simulated 10 franchise seasons and the "Number of times blocked" in Season Punting stats is always equal to 0 for all team; it isn't real! Is it a bug?

Very small sample size of one game on All Pro in Offline Franchise Mode but here's what I noticed playing as Cowboys vs. Skins. Of note, I installed the patch and then the tuner update after that. I had previously installed the tuner, but removed it because the gameplay was completely dead feeling. 1) The kick wind meter was correct & cpu punter actually properly sky kicked in 8 mph wind twice. 2) CPU defensive line broke blocks abit quicker. 3) I still got smoked on a stretch play, but I user missed a tackle. 4) I struggled to run the ball and usually I do fairly well. 5) CPU secondary reacted quicker to the pass. I suffered 2 QB fumbles and I am not one to hold the ball. Coverage was tight. 7) I actually lost the game........but don't tell anybody OK? Overall, the game played really well and I was surprised. Again, one game sample size.

I mentioned this earlier in this thread and nobody seemed to think it was a big deal, or just didn't notice my post, but man defense is suffering from an animation glitch that damn near breaks it since the patch came out. Basically when a corner breaks down in man defense against specific patterns, an animation begins that slides them 3-5 yards out of position. I first saw the animation glitch with corner's defending comeback routes. Now in the link below I saw it defending an out pattern.

My friends and I are all noticing it but nobody on operation sports has said a thing about it. We've seen it both in our connected franchise and in play now. We've also seen it on default sliders and custom sliders. Surely someone who runs a man defense can replicate this or has seen it!?

Hmm, curious, I believe the patch may have updated how the player Season goals are set up?? Start a new CFM and check the season goals in Week 1, only the OL appear and players only appear on the goal list once they have appeared in a game at a position. So stops cheesing and moving players around from preseason to season etc

Anybody seeing this animation on their end when you or the cpu are playing man defense post patch when your corner is making their break on a comeback or out route?

Something is definitely broke with All-Madden. Bad play from the CPU QB holding on to the ball too long and taking lots of coverage sacks. You have to really beef the CPU runblocking up to get them going with the run games and USER passing has gotten easier even with USER accuracy at 0. There was no chance of playing with the USER accuracy at 0 pre patch. It was tough once you dropped it to 4. Only thing that's playing pretty good is the CPUs run defense.

I'm not sure that alll madden might be some frogged up version of all pro now. The ai offense was playing better on all pro last night than all madden. And I agree about human qb accuracy not only are they more accurate but on the run and back foot throws are spot on too. I wonder if they made passing automatically accurate just like kicking with the patch.

I just knew something like this would happen. ...I'm not blaming EA but when you try to please the masses this is the result.......

I was afraid of something like this happening. I took my ps4 offline as soon as I knew the patch was coming. I've learned my lesson over the years. I always wait for patch impressions now before downloading. Might just keep it offline the rest of the year.

Played a game in rainy conditions in Miami. First to answer a repeated question : in both my cfm and play now it is NOT called hard rock. Still shows as new Miami stadium.
The opening kickoff went to the 15. Kicking game was downhitfrom there. This game 100% punts into wind were28-35 yards. 100% with wind were cranked with no regard for pinning the opposition deep. 78 yarder (76 in the air) in one direction and 28 yarders in the other. CPU did try a 64 yard fg at the end of the half with the wind which fell just short.

Someone above said he saw good sky punts at 8 mph. There's likely a threshold. I e yet to figure out how to find the wind. I would have thought I'd see it when I jumped In to kick off but no. Do you see the wind speed on field goals?

My problem is why make things easier on All Madden? Let All Madden be for the hardcore sim crowd, for example in this patch they made field goal easier on All Pro and All Madden, why? Its All Madden field goals should be harder. I like what NBA 2K 17 did with their new difficulty settings, they assume the higher in difficulty you go, the more sim the user wants their experience. Let All Madden be for the hardcore guys don't patch in adjustments that make the game easier on that skill level even if you have to add a disclaimer on it something like.... The game difficulty will increase significantly on this skill level.

They have the metrics all across the board that made FG's were harder to make and mostly the reason for that was the lag online.

There's been a few people in here or the kicking thread that played online and said FG and XP's were difficult to make.

All of the fixes have been streamlined across the board since Madden 13. They need to separate the different modes to please all the fans going forward. ie sim, casual, online, offline, etc......

I was having the same issues with All Madden after the patch.

I usually never have to do this but, I know the devs have told people to do it so I did.

I deleted and re-installed my game. I also deleted my profile and started over. I deleted and reinstalled the tuner.

Don't worry all saved stuff is still there.

I also deleted something on the manage game section. Extra memory or something. Can't remember what it was called.

I started a brand new online franchise and I'm not having issues anymore.

Seems like sometimes with all the patches and tuners it's best to start fresh. Even though they say you don't need to.

Might work for some. It did for me
