Madden NFL 17 News Post


Madden NFL 17 title update #2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it includes fixes to gameplay, franchise, and Ultimate Team modes. Check out the details below.

Gameplay
  • Tuned Wide Receivers dropping wide open passes to be less frequent
  • Auto-Moves now set to OFF for all MUT Solo Challenges
  • Player-Lock camera fixes
  • Tuned Auto-Broken Tackles to be less frequent
  • Variety of defensive run-game tuning fixes
  • Strip-Ball exploit fixed
  • Fixed issue around clock running out on a defensive penalty
  • Fixed issue with QB’s unable to tackle after throwing an Interception
  • Fixed a variety of rare Special Teams issues
  • Defensive tuning vs. stretch/outside zone runs
  • Addressed a variety of fatigue-related issues
  • Nano-detection System improvements
  • Nano-detection System disabled for user vs. CPU games
  • Fixed 'Ice the Kicker' not functioning in certain situations
  • Addressed users holding kick button to take a delay penalty and re-kicking
  • Fixed issue with user not being able to switch players in co-op play
  • Tuned to WR/DB positioning on streak routes
  • Tuning & Adaptive AI to Linebacker fake-out chances vs. counter plays to make defensive reaction better
  • Kick-Meter Accuracy Range increased on All-Pro & All-Madden
  • Decreased 'nearby player' penalty for defender interceptions, making Interceptions more frequent
Franchise
  • Added ability to save/resume solo Cloud Franchise games
  • Head to head Cloud games will now default to the standard camera
  • Fixed issue where players on IR were counting against active roster
  • Fixed issue where user to user trades could be auto accepted when week advances
  • Many stats and ratings menus are now in widescreen format
  • Fixed issue where some heads appeared incorrect while editing
  • Addressed stability issues in Play the Moment, Training, Formation Subs, and Schemes
  • Fixed issue where some players with preexisting injuries would never return to health
  • Addressed issue where stats are not showing properly when viewed on team goals menu
  • Tuned game regression that can occur for quarterbacks
  • Fixed issue where defensive rookie of the year can show up as offensive player of the year
  • Removed ability for kneeling QBs to be hurt while simminng
  • Adjusted fatigue during Play the Moments
  • Punter stats are now visible in the menus
  • Draft Classes will now have varying penalty traits
  • Highlights menu is now available when ending the game on a simmed play
  • Going for it on 4th downs in Play the Moments have been tuned
  • Strategy suggestions in play call will now track multiple concepts
Ultimate Team
  • Added the ability to add multiple items to a set at once (“Batch-Add-to-Set”)
  • Improved MUT substitution screen UI
  • Chemistry art modifications (larger images!!)
  • Addressed the issue where filters in the Auction House would disappear
  • Addressed the issue where the “Unopened Packs” tile would show 0 even if you had packs unopened
  • Surfaced the “restart” button when failing a Solo Challenge
  • Game speed is set to default for all difficulties including Rookie and Pro (no longer “Slow”)
  • Auto Subs in MUT Solo Challenges are now working correctly

Yes. Not all saved data though. Just uninstall and reinstall the game.

Since I deleted my profile from the ps4 itself, the game seems to play much better overall on all madden. Because it was like below all-pro right after patch. EXCEPT cpu qb. Even at default the qb just stands there. He can stand there for 10 seconds. Or just decides to throw out of bounds. If you do break thru, he dumps it short. Trying to tinker with user pass cov and int currently

Coming from a CFM with 32 active users. If you watched all 32 guys in practice they would bang FGs through from 50+ yards with no problem. But as soon as you got online the lag messed with the meter too much. Guys started missing even short FG's. Had nothing to do with skill. This change will hopefully offset some of the EXTRA difficulty the lag creates.

Charter, I deleted my profile and tuner. The game does play better. Except the cpu qb. How is that aspect for you?

It is nice to see. However, overalls in the draft are so awareness Dependent that it is basically a useless metric to me. This guy has 53 awareness, if he had 75 he would be pushing 80 overall. More superstar/quick guys deeper in the draft is nice though. Where was he projected?

Played a little over 1 quarter this morning and saw 5 combined fumbles. 3 by the cpu, 2 by me with one non-qb fumble. It was in the rain but with my fumble slider at 75 it was ridiculous. I shut it off at that point.

I'm having more issues post tuner then before. Cpu and myself cannot run anymore. Too many passes are being bounced off wr helmets. Cpu will have super coverage skills randomly on plays. Punting is horrid. Fumbles are up and it's not from the qbs. I also have a clip I can upload of Bortles running out of bounds for safety on a PA....

Just finshed my first full game. It played more or less the same as it did pre patch. The offensive cpu play calling is so much better. The cpu ran play action on 3rd and 1 and also caught me off guard several times with other calls. The defensive play calling is mostly the same. I was surprised how many drops there were. Seemed the same as pre patch.

I will need to lower tackling a bit to increase broken tackles. That's all I see atm for slider changes. The Qb ai is slightly improved, Winston only through the ball away once when appropriate. He even took a sack on a play where he seemed like he didn't know what to do with the ball as everyone was covered.

Overall a very positive patch in my mind.

There's a weird db animation glitch that has popped up since the patch/tuner on comeback routes. It was posted earlier by someone in this thread. It causes the db to slide a few yards before he turns back to the db.

Noticed it finally in one of my games.

Glad someone else saw it. It happens while corners play man on certain routes such as comebacks and outs/ins. When the wr breaks in his route the corner glides 3-5 yards like on glass without moving their feet before making their break to defend the route. I'm shocked more people haven't taken notice of this and are not complaining. It greatly hurts man defense and is just plan ugly which kills immersion. Here's the link to the video I took again.

I usually don't see that stuff in real time unless it's very obvious. My eyes are all over the field. If I notice something glitchy or seems off, I'll go to replay.

As long as the developers are aware of it, it should be taken care of.

I tweeted the video to Rex and Clint, but got no response which is understandable. Hopefully they actually saw it among their numerous mentions on twitter.

Might not here from them for a few days, I don't know how bad the storm affected the Tampa area.

I prsonally wouldn't have noticed it if the route wasn't my primary read. I was eyeballing Tate and saw the DB slide a few yards before the animation kicked in. I thought something was off and checked the replay.

I'm also noticing after the patch that there are a lot of diving missed tackles on the corner routes by the ai. It leads to an auto td even with reaction and tackle raised above 50. Couple that with deadly accuracy even with the human slider at 0 leads to a lot of scoring. This is on all madden and all pro.

Yeah. The glitch in man coverage is ugly and frustrating, but so is the qb accuracy slider issue. Last game I played I threw for like 85% on all madden and my incompletions were all interceptions because I had the defensive sliders so high to offset the unreal accuracy. My qb was Paxton lynch lol.

It's been opposite for me, defenders in man will magically make up the yards they're beaten on and either break up or int my pass...and this is on all pro.

Wow not sure what happened but started playing my cfm since patch and this patched ruined my cfm ...I was having competive hard fought games.

Every game I have played has been close even cone down to last play of game.

Rematch against steelers first game I won 38-31.... The cmp ran all over me and Ben threw it all over me. Brown finished that game with 258 yards receiving 2 tds.

This game I'm in 3rd quarter had pause it ..gonna finish later but I'm up 23-7... And I have the ball starting 3rd.

I thought they said they fixed the sack/fumble glitch but now it seems it only happens to cmp..bens been hit twice lost both...and bell lost a fumble.

Only reason they got a td was on PI on me in endzone right before half.

But Ben is no where near playing like he was in last game he's like 6-12 72 yards and bell has like 10 carries 14 yards because he can't get out backfield.

Like I said before the cmp was competitive now it can't do nothing ...and I know other ppl have meantioned this as well.
