Pretty sure anyway.

It does seem like it's much more of a handicap now.....

It would be nice if was a pre-cursor to players learning new positions(or not being able to as well)
(there I go....asking for the next step before we even get this one.......yells at self.)

High Heat had something similar but it had flaws. You could leave a minor league guy at a new position for a full season and he would begin to gain proficiency at the new position. It took a few years for him to be fully proficient.

Unfortunately you could end up with 280 lb shortstops etc. It would be interesting but like everything would have to be done properly.

Maybe it will mean having a Ben Zobrist type player on your team more essential than ever.

They stopped?

They always take opinions, it's factually too late to make any drastic art work changes at this point.

Hopefully in the future they can add it to the training portion of franchise to allow players to work on different positions. Having a utility player is essential these days. Every team has 1 or 2 of these type players.

Maybe allow the training on other positions to begin in spring training and progress over the season. Have the ratings go according to innings logged at specific positions and how well the player played the positions.

speaking of animations. anyone know if there will be any new slides at home plate other than the one where you slide legs first and just slide ur hand over the plate as you slide beside the plate?

im thinking animations like for example Donaldsons avoid tag dive onto homeplate or sliding hands first over the plate or any cool avoid the tag type slides?

for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCKVMW-DjSU

The grass has been an ISSUE for like 4 years now...the detail in it looks muddy from afar.

Ill give it to them last year for improving overall color palette tho.

But the backdrops SHOULD be fixed as that what we see most of the time

The show also needs better body types im unsure WHY many players look SQUASHED.

If you guys remeber there was a feature back with the older MLB's that you could adjust screen stretch last year i didnt see it so it bothered me more

Me and my community are not probably getting MLB this year looks tooooo samey

Surprise us and maybe but with amonth out i think this product is ready to be shipped as is...

The PS4 itself has the ability to enlarge or shrink the screen size, though all of it is 16:9.

Did you actually adjust the ratio to remedy a supposed issue with player proportions, as to throw everything else out of whack? I have gripes with the player models as well, but I would never go to these lengths (no pun intended).

Funny, I'm seeing a lot of differences. Unfortunately, not all in the hoped areas, but thankfully the majority that are changed seem to be heading in the right direction (with the exception of menu interfaces).

Have you been watching the same twitch streams I have? Have you seen the PBR screenshots that have been released?? They have yet to show the game with the full graphics that will be included in the final release. There is going to be a huge difference in how 16 looks compared to 15.

Did they expand on the new pickoff system in one of the streams? I didn't watch the whole thing and never understood why they switched the button scheme for pickoffs. It was very logical in 14. Single tap for normal pickoff, quick double tap for a quick pickoff and hold the button for a deceptive move.

But in 15 they turned it around. Quick double tap is a normal pickoff and single tap is quick pickoff.

Who thought this was a good idea or am I missing something here?

They mentioned it but didn't elaborate on it. The fact list they showed said they only have 2 pick off moves now, I think quick and deceptive. I don't recall them mentioning the control schemes.

I hope they addressed the over throws off first base, it completely killed the realism. The pick-off/base-runner game was completely non existent last year so I am very glad that they put some additional work into it this year.

6 weeks until release date, I can hear the conversation now:

"OK, guys, we can work on the game for another 3-4 weeks, or we can make the guys over on the OS forums think we are working, but actually just sit on our tails and not finish the game. Whatever you guys want to do."

LOL

Yea, it's not like we can see the improvements and changes in the streams every week...

You're probably huffin' too much glue or paint if you don't think these guys are working on the game until the ABSOLUTE last minute(and beyond....(who's going to get in trouble for exceeding the deadline this year Ramone?)

In manage mode base stealing has seen both extremes in recent years. One year the runner would take a huge lead if you told him to steal and get easily picked off. The show 15 the pitcher rarely threw over but stealing second wasn't guaranteed. I had guys with 70 steal and 70 speed who got thrown out frequently. I thought the show 15 produced the most realistic results despite the cpu pitcher not throwing over.

It will be interesting what they come up with this year but I'd prefer to leave it as it was in the show 15 than return to getting picked off every time the pitcher threw over like in prior versions of the game.

In 15 playing against the cpu they very rarely threw over and when they did it was because I had triggered the steal too early. I never picked off one base-runner either and the "look over" clearly had no effect. From what they have said it seem like there will be a much more effective "cat and mouse" game then the last few versions.

Does anyone in the know have any idea on the likelihood of getting a dynamic throw meter anytime soon?

Dynamic in what way? Analog and button accuracy are dynamic.

In that the green/yellow/red areas of the meter vary in size based on the difficulty of throw being attempted like the 2K series had. I should say that it's possible they added this last year as I didn't buy it but I haven't seen anything that makes me think it was.

Right, and I don't know about "joysticking" the game because I use manage mode but I liked 15 better than previous versions because the result was accurate. Base stealing was neither automatic or impossible.

If they "fix" pickoffs but produce inaccurate stolen base numbers then for me it would be worse. I'm not saying that is what will happen, just expressing my impression based upon past versions of the game.

This is how the analog and button accuracy meters have worked since their inception...

So, I'd say the chances are 100%
