NBA 2K16 News Post


NBA 2K16 patch #4 is available for PlayStation 4, weighing in at 2.4GB. The same patch is scheduled to be released for PC and Xbox One very soon. Once they release, we will update this post.

GENERAL
  • Addressed a hang that can occur when editing/applying tattoos in Edit Player.
  • Resolved a bug where one or more users in a co-op game would lose control of their player at some point during the game.
  • Fixed a disconnect issue that some users were seeing during online games.
  • (PC) Fixed a corruption issue where some users were experiencing hangs, missing art assets, and infinite loads. Please ensure that your virus scanning software (e.g. Avast) whitelists your Steam folder/directory. This is required for new content to properly download and install.
  • Closed a loophole where the pause timer would stop counting down when sitting in the ‘Report Image’ flow.
  • Improved the user interface when applying contracts to players in MyTEAM by removing the display of how many contracts the player would have IF the current card was applied.
  • Fixed a case where the user accepting an online invite would sometimes skip the position selection screen in the way into matchmaking.
  • Headwear should now properly unequip when attempting to do so from within the MyPARK Apparel section of the store.
  • The player portrait will now update when a new user is signed in on the main menu via the account picker.
  • A number of other optimizations and enhancements have been made to improve the user experience.
GAMEPLAY
  • Teammate free throw celebration/interaction behaviors have been corrected.
  • Slightly tuned down the frequency of ball collisions.
  • Fixed an issue that led to a temporary loss of user control on possession changes while in the 2K Cam.
  • Tuned down the frequency of missed alley-oop and putback dunks when open.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed high rated post players to shoot post fadeaway 3's at a high percentage.
MyCAREER/MyPARK/MyCOURT
  • Fixed a rare issue where the game would hang when Doris Burke interviews your MyPLAYER at the end of the first half and/or at the end of the game.
  • The correct records and rep levels will now be shown for the players on the MyPARK loading screen.
  • Corrected the wall and floor art for the San Antonio Spurs theme in MyCOURT.
  • Fixed a case where some purchased shoes were not properly appearing on the shoe racks in MyCOURT.
MyGM/MyLEAGUE
  • Resolved a hang that could occur many, many years into MyGM when entering the offseason.
  • Generated players will now wear the correct color socks for away games.
  • Fixed an issue where generated players were getting their free throw animations randomized every offseason.
  • The Strengths/Weaknesses screen in Team Comparison should now be functioning properly once again.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves (unless specifically noted otherwise).

I did learn to adjust to it post patch #3, but it wasn't as if the turnovers were realistic at all. Players coughing it up if defenders got within a mile radius, just because they were 'there' was bull**** in the first place and caused a lot of frustration.

I haven't played the game with the new patch yet, I'm just hoping the game offers a balance some where in between (certain) players being too turnover prone and players having unreal ball control skills.

I think TO's are frowned upon especially in a video game since the user has total control what happens most of the time. I agree with the visual representation post. If the CPU stole the ball instead, it looks less disruptive versus the user losing the ball trying to turbo their way around in a half court setting. These are the people who don't have patience and most likely do not run plays and want to go 1 on 1 80% of the time.

It's sad to say, but 2k will most likely not revisit this again and the hero ball handlers can now turbo almost worry free in traffic [emoji19]

Sim stats are still deflated in mygm and I think I'm done with this game, maybe 2k in general. I'm not saying I want a perfect game, I get that no game is, but dude. It's the simple stuff. If I'm buying a basketball sim, statistics should be the forefront of tweaks, should it not? The ****ing Grizzlies average less than 30 PIP a game in mygm. That's bull****. This gâme came out at the end of September and I anxiously waited like the fan I am, only for the middle of December to roll around and we keep getting patches for things that CAUSAL PLAYERS ask for. If you know about basketball, animations should be your main concern. Losing the ball and all the other lititle stuff ppl have complained about have come from a lack of skill, let's just be real. Yet when I wanna create a dynasty, I cant, because the league high in PIP is less than 40. I really think I'm done man, it seems like 2k doesn't read our comments. They check the first page of comments and skim thru and it's done. Smh. I'm pissed.

We can talk about stats and all we want. The reality is that the majority of consumers is composed of casual gamers. And as we all know they want to shot over 50% every game, never lose the ball & many other things

Defense on My AI teammates does feel good. I mean they still do the dumb stuff from patch 3 but not as often. Just saying wing defenders still leave open man on their man on the 3 point line but not as often as before. I am literally enjoying playing MyCareer on HOF. Fadeaway 3's are toned down. Seen Kyle Korver miss like 2 fadeaway 3's. Patch 3 he made like 4 fadeaway 3's in a row. Teammates are contesting more, bailouts are still there but has been tone down. Loose ball is still a problem but not as bad as before. I can deal with it. Seeing kickball being called more(FINALLY).

2K Devs are too accommodating. Every year when MLBTS comes out, people complain about hitting being difficult. And thank god SCEA tends to wait and ignore those complaints.

To be honest i very much enjoyed the loose ball physics. It was a bit frustrating initially but after getting used to it I thought it made the online gameplay improve dramatically. It really separated the players with ball skills and IQ from the legions of casuals trying to always play like an and 1 mix tape. I run point on pro-am and capable of doing some crazy moves when the timing is right but I barely ever turn the ball over. I have over a 4-1 assist to turnover ratio and have found that just my own ability and basketball IQ is enough to win almost every pro-am game, even as a walk on. I am worried that this patch may cater to the cheesers a bit bringing it back to normalized 2k shananigans. Hopefully that is not the case.

I don't really care about them fixing when people lose the ball running into people. Now I just hit square in the paint, and it still works fine instead of just steamrolling into them.

They said that changes apply to existing saves unless noted, were there any noted? I didn't see any, but wondered if I missed something. Why put that in there unless something required a restart?

The cpu and my teammates play passing lanes and cross court passes much much better.

Seems like something with forward locomotion on defense has changed. Slowed down maybe?

Liking the patch, but sad to see there are still no POTG highlights or postgame highlights for ps4. This takes away from the presentation and immersion factor greatly for me

Maybe now you will realize that it's a PS4 issue and not a 2k issue, for the thousand time.

Rere....if you're not shooting over 50% a game you're doing something wrong....or you suck booty cakes.....

Thanks Mike and the 2K team. The movement is a lot better. Still a slight hit in the movement before patch #3 but it's a lot better and definitely tolerable.

I get highlights on 9 min. But its clearly a ps4 issue. Probably has something to do with the ps4's auto recording.

What is the issue exactly cause I just finished a 10min game in MyGm and was able to see highlights for POTG. Figured this was addressed since i was never able to see em before tonight.
