NBA 2K16 News Post


NBA 2K16 patch #4 is available for PlayStation 4, weighing in at 2.4GB. The same patch is scheduled to be released for PC and Xbox One very soon. Once they release, we will update this post.

UPDATE: Patch #4 is available for PC and Xbox One now.

GENERAL
  • Addressed a hang that can occur when editing/applying tattoos in Edit Player.
  • Resolved a bug where one or more users in a co-op game would lose control of their player at some point during the game.
  • Fixed a disconnect issue that some users were seeing during online games.
  • (PC) Fixed a corruption issue where some users were experiencing hangs, missing art assets, and infinite loads. Please ensure that your virus scanning software (e.g. Avast) whitelists your Steam folder/directory. This is required for new content to properly download and install.
  • Closed a loophole where the pause timer would stop counting down when sitting in the ‘Report Image’ flow.
  • Improved the user interface when applying contracts to players in MyTEAM by removing the display of how many contracts the player would have IF the current card was applied.
  • Fixed a case where the user accepting an online invite would sometimes skip the position selection screen in the way into matchmaking.
  • Headwear should now properly unequip when attempting to do so from within the MyPARK Apparel section of the store.
  • The player portrait will now update when a new user is signed in on the main menu via the account picker.
  • A number of other optimizations and enhancements have been made to improve the user experience.
GAMEPLAY
  • Teammate free throw celebration/interaction behaviors have been corrected.
  • Slightly tuned down the frequency of ball collisions.
  • Fixed an issue that led to a temporary loss of user control on possession changes while in the 2K Cam.
  • Tuned down the frequency of missed alley-oop and putback dunks when open.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed high rated post players to shoot post fadeaway 3's at a high percentage.
MyCAREER/MyPARK/MyCOURT
  • Fixed a rare issue where the game would hang when Doris Burke interviews your MyPLAYER at the end of the first half and/or at the end of the game.
  • The correct records and rep levels will now be shown for the players on the MyPARK loading screen.
  • Corrected the wall and floor art for the San Antonio Spurs theme in MyCOURT.
  • Fixed a case where some purchased shoes were not properly appearing on the shoe racks in MyCOURT.
MyGM/MyLEAGUE
  • Resolved a hang that could occur many, many years into MyGM when entering the offseason.
  • Generated players will now wear the correct color socks for away games.
  • Fixed an issue where generated players were getting their free throw animations randomized every offseason.
  • The Strengths/Weaknesses screen in Team Comparison should now be functioning properly once again.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves (unless specifically noted otherwise).

I've learned since last year how to calm all that dribbling down. Either crowd the hell out of them and bring your man up to help defend him, or give him 3 seconds to shoot by standing in the paint the entire time. When people are that stupid, I'm more than happy to take the L, as long as they take it, too.

In MyLeague, I've noticed the computer doesn't even bother running any offense.

Just straight drive into the paint and then lead pass a big man right into automatic dunk.

Either that or straight ISOs depending on who has the ball.

Haven't noticed anything different tbh, game feels/plays the exact same as before the patch to me, would have rather seen players appearances get updated since I feel no real change and am happy with the game as it currently is/was.

Gave up on them toning down the offense so went to the sliders and made changes to both USER & CPU offense myself, reduced every perimeter shooting slider by 10 and reduced things like...Contact shot success, dunk in traffic success/tendency, game feels a lot more authentic after making these changes to me...just wish I could apply these changes to MyCareer.

I hate to be the guy to complain about the shooting after what 2k did last year but it has to be said. bad contested shots go in too much, open shots should go in more. this clip is from a MyTeam RTTP. I don't care that it's not a sim mode, I don't care what the difficulty is set on... it doesn't matter. this shot can not go in nothing but net, regardless of any situation. i'm seeing shots like this fall in PNO, Pro-Am, and MyTeam.



I actually let this guy back into the game playing my bench too long and he ended up losing by 3 iirc. this can't be life. can't be.

I think the update jacked up ACE a bit. I know in some of my first games I was seeing stuff like G Green bringing the ball down and taking like 7-8 shots in the 1st. Played them again yesterday and they we're back running offense. Same thing with the Pels forgetting AD. So I don't know if Czar is getting in fixes and just hitting certain teams at a time or if it's an issue that happens intermittently.

I just played 5 MyCareer games (third season, 100% chemistry, PG at the Knicks, All-Star/Superstar difficulty).

1. Ball hitting the opponents foot too often seems fixed. Good.
2. Double teaming is way out of hand now. On almost every possession I get double teamed now. As soon as the pick is set and I move they will swarm me. Passing to the roll man is extremely risky now because of the stupid throw animation when you get double teamed.
3. my teammates are complete **** now. Shot % is way down for teammate AI. They miss wide open shots, layups etc. This didn't happen with patch 3. It's almost as if my chemistry would be back at 0%, I'm open, request the ball... nothing.
3. teammate defense is trash now, it's laughable really. also seems as if the chemistry is 0%. Everyone blow by them and I have to help everywhere.
4. 3 pointers are way down. There is no reason that I should brick "every" 3pt when the defense sleeps, especially if I'm a outside PG with 99 overall. There is absolutely no reason for good offense and running plays if 2K thinks it has to limit 3pt shots even when NO ONE is near me. And of course the next time I completely f*ck up the release and it goes in... this happened before Patch 4 but it still makes no sense.

I feel like the are ruining MyCareer because of MyPark (which I hate).

I hope that 2k stopped listening gameplay fixes that some suggests here, i don't see any more problems other than not loosing the ball as much as before in the crowd. So please core fixes are ok to game modes etc. but please no more changes to gameplay, shooting etc etc.

If you squeeze a better live ball in with the next probable patch thats all good if not no more change to gameplay. Thank you.

I hear you brother, nothing is worse than having a step ahead on a fast break and a guy mashing steal getting the best of you. At least make stripping the ball have a decent chance of fouling, since its a desperation move most of the time

Just noticed that Patch 4 broke my MyCareer stats for a lot of players. They are showing N/A in a lot of categories.

Question. Is anyone else with a digital copy of the game experiencing very laggy game play after patch 4? I can barley make FT's now and moving around and passes are very slow.

Laggy and connection drops here and there in my last 12 online games 8 has dropped with error codes and others were all laggy like never before with delays and such. Awful. Never experienced connection drops before 4th patch.

Also, I play on park a lot, and it seems to take me 3 times longer to load into the park than my friends with the hard copy. Whenever we try and travel and get the black screen (which idk why is still broken) it seems to take me 10 minutes to get back.

Also I don't know if the patch through off my shot with slight lag, or if Mike Wang tweaked the percentages, but I can hit absolutely nothing from 3. 72 three with boost, so 77, is clanging off the rim like no other. Last 4 nights or so I have probably shot 15% from WIDE open threes. I've resorted to shooting 3's from only the corner, but still rarely making it. Right on the white line on the meter more times than not.

I bump up strength a tad and actually had a charge call the last game I played, so Im glad to know its possible still, not sure if bumping up strength help with that or not. Still there should be more charges in the game thanthere is.

i'm on superstar simulation sliders. that would be sufficient to get the charging calls.

Now in my 15th game i can't finish any games online, every game drops from online myleague to play with friends or play now online every game drops with error codes appearing after..

Has the lighting in the arena gotten better since the patch? Watching highlights at halftime the arena seems brighter in the crowd.
