Back to topic, I think they are taking steps in the right direction, but both games fifa and pes have their flaws.
PES 6 was good for its time, but its time for you guys to let that **** go. There's no way that outdated game is better than either PES 2016 or FIFA 16. With that said, I'm enjoying PES 2016 on PS4. It looks and plays a bit better than the demo. Not looking forward to all the editing, but if you want the game perfect, it's going to take a little work.

The majority of PC players will not buy the game.

Also I'm not buying a sports videogame that doesn't implement the football rules (fouls). I'm not stupid.

WE9 LE is still the best football game.

Loving this game so far. Yes the squads not being updated and having to manually update logos and kits are a pain. But the on field game play is terrific once you lower game speed to -1 or -2 depending on your style.
Fouls are being over blown I think. FIFA does not have a lot of fouls either so I feel this is harder to implement then people think, however I have had a couple fouls each game I have played.

Manual controls is fun, passing is not as easy, shooting is great but seems easy at times. The CPU missed passes often the first few games I have played which was nice to see.

So far I am very pleased and once I finish kits and squads are updated this will be a great game.

I have around 10-15 fouls in FIFA 16 demo with 15 min halves.

We believe in the PATCH! it is lame but hopefully something can be worked out. seriously so close. so weird because pes 14 had fouls patched in and that was on the fox engine. must be different with the next gen and collision system now.

Had a blast with the game last night. I will post my impressions in a bit, but wanted to drop this highlight real of Jeremy Menez' hat trick last night. The ball movement on the first goal was awesome.

Ugh, for all the brilliance in this game - and there's a lot to really love - it's reminding me of the worst of FIFA 15 with the defensive AI. It's really, really easy to score due to defensive AI lapses and huge gaps in the backline. I also concede too many for the same reason.

I'm absolutely loving the individuality - dribbling with Messi, for example, is a joy.

When PES 2016 is good, it's truly brilliant. Unfortunately there's a number of issues that have me pulling my hair out at times and really detract from the experience.

Just like in real life, you can expect to be found if you are flying into the area and a straight line holdibg down the dash button. If you see changes of speed and direction, and some clever dribbling you can draw fouls in this game a lot easier than you can in a lot of FIFA games.
I've yet to play the retail version, but in several weeks with the demo I've yet to see a single foul without a slide tackle involved. Perhaps if PES had a better jostling system, there would be more opportunities to draw more realistic fouls.

I did the same thing for the 2015 version as I put well over 150 hrs into edits before giving up on the gameplay due to the lack of fouls and others issues that are present again in 16. With all the glowing reviews now, I fear that will only encourage them to leave things alone again.

I was really hoping things would change for 16 as I had my $60 waiting to pick it up, but I bought NHL 16 yesterday in order to not make the same mistake twice.

It's simple: I'm not buying a football game without fouls as I'm not buying a basketball game without fouls.
In addition (judging from the videos):
- Almost every shot inside the box is a goal.
- Goalkeepers animation is at 24fps and it's ridiculous.
- The game has the exact cpu teammate defensive problems as FIFA 15 vanilla.

This thread has become hard to read through.

Watching the video clip above, I see the slow reacting goalie is still in. At times the keepers look great and react appropriately, other times you get what was shown in the two goals above.

It really bugs me. Could be wrong, but it seems a way for the game to allow a goal, when otherwise the shot would be stopped. Scoring in the demo and seeing replays with the slow reactions made the goals feel cheap and undeserved.

See, this is exactly what I had highlighted several months ago. It's Not Alive (like Bhatti says), but it's seriously Chaotic. It's like PES took FIFA 15's and PES 14/15's defending ADD and just ported it into PES 16

FIFA gets it wrong too in the opposite case, lol. It allows you to take the advantage too far. You get fouled and play on, take a few dribbles and make a pass that gets intercepted and the ref brings it back.

You should be happy that at least Milan is scoring goals somewhere

Played four games last night. The slide tackle issue is a bit annoying, I'm hoping they fix it, but I'm seeing regular fouls against the CPU ... Maybe on the not enough side, but still seeing enough of the obvious ones. The fouls I've seen have looked amazing in the replay as well, my wife even commented at how good they look.

I'm really pleased with the commentary this year, but I'd still like to see Jim Beglin hit the bricks. Some weird ai moments, but there are some brilliant ones too. So far it looks like I will be splitting my soccer time between pes and FIFA again this year.

Played one game of BAL and its definitely much improved over last year, worth looking into this year.

The fouls issue is bothersome but it's not the biggest problem for me. The biggest problem is this is basically a PES version of FIFA 15 - easy chance creation; poor defending; counter-attack dominant; lots of open space for easy long sprints; no real skill or intelligence needed to score.

Certainly not feeling anything like a sim experience that's for sure.

you guys are driving me bonkers with this stuff. it has be worked with to get a sim experience like every other soccer game released for the last 10 years! stop watching these other videos with guys just running around with fluid formations turned off. this causes players to not even come back and play d. anyway i just get frustrated because i have worked on sim for this game and it has turned out quite well (minus fouls i know already!). Everyone knows how to manipulate FIFA w/ sliders but this game is different. What have you even done to change the game to play the way you want? FIFA out of the box is like that too! Just up and down. That is what casual gamers want. We are the minority. Anyway in a couple days I will post some vids of simulation type gameplay and how I achieved it. Of course some people from won't even look at it and just keep being ignorant.

Looks like the main and consistent complaint with the game is lack of fouls. That seems to be an issue on PES for the past few years I've seen. FIFA has gotten better but even then there isn't enough . I hope this gets fixed very soon, I miss the old days where refs had ratings of strictness , neutral or lenient and the games felt differently because of it
