There's no shot you can do that with FIFA, no shot. The foul system in PES is in need of a complete overhaul, and I guarantee it is NOT fixed with a patch, if it could, it would have been.
I'm not saying PES has better foul mechanics than FIFA as a whole, but this PES is no worse than FIFA 14. I've recently started playing that again and went 4 games without a single foul going my way.

A video might be helpful, because I'm having a different experience. Am I getting a realistic amount of fouls? Probably not, but you can't expect 10-15 fouls playing 15 minute halves. You'd spend the whole time in dead ball situations. I would say I average 3-4 fouls going my way and slightly more going against me, depending on the team I'm playing.

I'm not saying the game is perfect, or that more fouls wouldn't be amazing, but to dismiss this gamecbased on that when you hype up FIFA 14 so much seems a bit Harsh.

Back to topic, I think they are taking steps in the right direction, but both games fifa and pes have their flaws.
Agreed, and to tell you the truth I have no interest in getting into a which game is better debate because in reality both games have their strengths and weaknesses, and in the end it just comes down to preference. I will say that FIFA IMO gets a raw deal as an "arcade" game because of the default style of the game. With sliders however the sim aspect of FIFA is right up there with PES, the difference being as I said team/player individuality. I'll stop now as this is an impressions thread.

You're missing what I'm saying, although the lack of fouls in PES 16 is weak point, it would be OK if it weren't possible to bludgeon to opposition without mercy, and that's my issue with it. Although FIFA 14 was light on fouls, you certainly couldn't do what you can do in PES,( the issue in 14 had to do with the CPU being too precise, on the human side, all fouls were and still are punished.) Just watch any stream of human v human PES 2016 gameplay and you'll see what I mean. I didn't want to get into this because there is a lot to like with PES, there really is, the individuality, the physicality, the feeling of anything can happen, it's all there and when played the right way, it's a sight to behold. Problem is, I know that I can completely decimate the CPU with violent slide tackles and not get called as long as you get a toe on the ball and that sucks. I'm glad you like the game I really am, it's just not for me, not in its present state anyway.

I feel like the number fouls wouldn't be an issue if PES let you stop the ball and refuse the ref advantage like FIFA. Too often the advantage is played incorrectly, and you can lose the ball instantly after the advantage and the ref doesn't call for a dead ball. It's a simple mechanism that would help.

I totally get where you are coming from. My statements are based on single player. All games play differently in single player vs CPU.I actually somewhat enjoy 15 when I'm playing a human, if only for the variety. I've yet to play vs a human opponent. I remain hopeful that the foul issue can be addressed somehow.

I am also hopeful that if anybody can change my mind about FIFA 16 its and Matt. After about 8 years of playing FIFA exclusively I just couldn't handle the mindless CPU AI any more. Sliders just didn't work last year, evidenced by the gargantuan Community Slider thread. I hope this year is different, but for now I really think that PES delivers on things I've been wanting from a football game for a very long time.

Surely this can be addressed via a patch?

Agreed that they do dodge questions regarding fouls. Which seems to mean to us, that they have no clue how to implement it in a better way..

I'm assuming it could be, but I doubt it will. Seems like it would be simple and it wouldn't have an effect on people who want non-stop fluid gameplay. It wouldn't be a perfect fix, but it would at least help.

It's ok so far. I'm impressed by certain aspects and disappointed by others. I like physicality matters and the game is very fluid. However the complete lack of fouls (through 5 games so far I have yet had a free kick) and my annually recurring frustration with completely worthless cpu controlled teammates I'm quite underwhelmed. Yes it plays nice but I do miss having to practice free kicks and I don't miss screaming at my teammate to literally stick his foot out three inches to intercept a pass.

First impressions aren't great for me:

- It's really fast.

- It's really easy to score.

- Defensive AI is iffy.

- Lack of CPU fouls is annoying as hell.

- Not having current rosters is a joke.

I could see this game being fun, and maybe I'll grow into it more, but right now it's kinda reminding me of some of the worst of FIFA 15, in that it's a bit of an end-to-end goalfest.

What difficulty is everyone playing on?

Any more impressions on fouls?

No fouls really killed last year's version for me. Early indications are they shanked this issue for the second year in a row, but still would like to hear if anything has changed.

You have 5+ pages to look through and you post this ? Wow. Good job.

I'm in the not enough fouls camp. I've played a few games with literally no fouls except for offside on 15 minutes.

Or if they added that little icon that FIFA has in the upper right-hand corner that let's you know there's an advantage. Sometimes there are fouls but the ref isn't in clear sight so you can't see it.

The lack of fouls is almost a deal-breaker for this game, which is a shame because there are many positives. Yes the speed is way too fast on default and it seems very easy to score, I got six on pro in a 15 minute half game.

I am loving being able to import kits and badges. I love being able to edit teams and FIFA refuses to satisfy this need for me.

People tend to post impressions prematurely, or respond in ignorance, sort of like how you just did.

Does difficulty matter? Does game speed matter? Has there been any info regarding a fix, like some obscure tweet from a developer? These are legitimate questions, but whatever, remain in ignorance I guess.

Yeah, but even when we see the ref giving the advantage we can't just stop and take the foul like FIFA. If we stop dribbling, the CPU are allowed to tackle the ball away while the ref does nothing. Seems like it would be a simple fix, but oh well. Even if the CPU fouls in our own 1/3 the ref forces us to play advantage.

Agreed, but I'm probably still going to get it. Wonder if it will be ready at midnight for PC....

It's taken all the discipline in my body not to take the plunge, but FIFA releases tomorrow night(usually around 8 or so) on Access so that should make it easier.
