1st quarter: 2 midrange shot
2nd quarter: 6 midrange shot
3rd quarter: 4 midrange shot
4th quarter: 3 midrange shot

With the exception of 2 or 3 midrange shot, the other ones were taken because the 24 second clock was winding down to 0. I was playing on ball defense taking away driving lanes. Now that you guys mention it, I can't unthink it. This definitely needs to be patched.

If synergy is suppose to track players tendencies and whatevers, could synergy be the solution to the lack of midrange.

Darn it. Now I'm back on the 50/50 train (to buy or not to buy live16). Fun demo, but without the midrange ...

I'll have to test it out with other teams.

Obviously an addition with "cpu tendancies" sliders would be a nice patch. All these issues disappear when playing a friend locally. The fun factor and realism jumps like from a 6 to an 8 when you play a human player.

Not that i know of. they really need to add that, and of course the ability to alter "cpu tendencies" with sliders.

I don't look for flaws like a lot of modern day gamers, I'm more old school. Meaning if the game is fun I'm buying it regardless.

I realize that no game will ever simulate real life like a lot of gamers expect these days. NBA Live 16 demo is a whole lot of fun, IMO and what more do I need.

Can't wait for the release.

Honestly, if I had to choose, I'd rather the CPU play 3 and key offense as opposed to forcing it into the post all game. I am waiting for the first roster update and patch to submit team tendency feedback, as I do think this is fixable. We'll see.

This game has one of the best, if not the best sets of animations for post entry passes, and for recieving the post entry pass and going hard to the basket with either a drop step or power dribble to a dunk. I swear my jaw has been on the floor a number of times after seeing those animations.

I'm going to post this here as well, for context:

A little more context on shots by location in the nba this year:

By numbers: TOTAL 3 POINT SHOTS: 53,107

TOTAL SHOTS IN THE PAINT (Not counting shots from the elbow): 92,530

ALL OTHER SHOTS: 54,745

TOTAL SHOTS: 200,382

3 POINTERS: 26.5% of total attempts

SHOTS IN THE PAINT: 46.17% of total attempts

ALL OTHER SHOTS: 27.3% of shot attempts

If you extrapolate this on a per-game basis (83.56 shots per game per team), you should see 22.14 3s, 38.58 shots in the paint, and 22.81 shots from all other ranges (these won't add up exactly since I rounded off). If we are perfectly replicating NBA averages, you should see 5.5 midrange shots per quarter per team. Now, of course, this should be even more heavily slanted towards the paint, as this is measuring field goal attempts and not shooting fouls, which we know happen more often in the paint than anywhere else.

Based on this information, as an estimate, the average NBA team attempts a little more than half of their shot attempts (fouled and otherwise) in the paint, a quarter from 3, and a quarter from midrange, meaning 75% of all shot attempts are either in the paint or from 3.

Demo lasted 20 mins, I just don't like the way you can score with set moves all the time. Yes the game has made big improvements over the last few versions with graphics and animations. But playing basketball just seems so basic and the AI seems very basic.

They are showing up everywhere on ebay too. Early

% wise I understand but being able to get from the 3pt line to rim with 1 button press is the issue. I personally want to see defense get rewarded but forcing teams to shot lower % shots.

3pt shots should be lowered at least 10% across the board.

Any fan knows the art of the midrange game is slowly going away. But when full game comes out if Aldridge and Dirk are not tearing the midrange game up. That to me is an issue. I don't mind them exaggerate Curry/Thompson but early demo, lebron was shooting majority of shots out there. That has been tweaked so far.

Didn't see a bugs thread but I just had the ball get stuck/glued to the backboard. I'm playing retail copy. Hopefully the Dev's can recreate and fix

Also anyone lose there in game shot meter? I had it the first few days but now it's gone and I don't see the option to toggle it on/off

Ive lost more faith in the dev team and game changers. In my crappy quick draw, that should all be pull up areas.

Can't tell you how many times I wanted to just do a pump fake but took off for a layup while in a stand still. And majority of time it benefited the offensive player vs punishing bad bball tactics.

I noticed this too going through the tutorial. I was thinking the take off area for layup seas too far back.

Don't want to nor am I trying to turn this into a BUG THREAD but this shot is nuts. Kawhi is shooting a sideways jumper.

I will say I have seen more midrange jumpers in this game

I know the mid-range shots by the cpu have been a issue in the past and seems to be one now. Here is the shot chart from a game is just played vs the Spurs playing on All Star 8 min qtrs

Thanks for the glitch input Mamba. I'll pass along the ball sticking glitch. That's an odd one. What type of shot was it that resulted in it sticking?

The sideways/backwards shooting deal they're aware of, and should be fixed in the patch, so you shouldn't see that in the final w/ patch.

I was using Hibbert down on the block and when I took the shot the ball just stuck.

The game is far from a bug fest. In 6/7 days I've been playing I've only noticed 2 weird plays. Also I have yet to see it again. Pretty damn good out the box from what I've experienced in regards to bugs.

I'll pass it along. I've had a few that I know are fixed, but hadn't seen the ball stuck thing.

The Spurs shot about 12.38 16-23 foot shots per game. I could 11 in your shot chart in 8 minute quarters. This might be a problem, but this is not a good example.

Spurs shot distribution in 2014-2015:

No problem. I just was showing that they do in fact take some mid range shots. Thanks for the info though.

How did that game feel? I see a little more disparity among the types of shot. Were they pick n pop/roll, catch and shoot, etc? Or were the mid range shots late clock management type shots?

I know that the mid range game is in there somewhere, it just has to be tweaked to get it to come out. That shot chart is better. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I must have misread your post. I thought you were saying that this showed it was a problem. My fault.
