It was a joke. Daryl Morey is the GM of the Houston Rockets, and someone who has pushed very much for layups or 3s offense, and to eschew long-2s at all costs (unless you have a LaMarcus Aldridge or Dirk Nowitzki who is killer at them).

Unless the day one patch fixes this.
No argument from me.

Anyone know how to change the camera in game? Trying to do the "zoom" trick

Yeah, I'll say it out here, but today has been a pretty rough patch for the game and I. The Warriors were absolutely barreling through my defense. 12 minute quarters on Superstar, I was the Wolves.

They shot 8 first half mid range shots, which was ok, but the amount of times that they should have pulled up instead of dozing through the lane was unfortunate.

It was default sliders, so I'll mess around with them to see if I can help remedy the situation. Granted, not all playbooks are finalized, so hopefully that will help open up the midrange.

I've noticed that people spend a bit of time in the lobby if they don't know how to queue up.

As a visual aid... EA should 'highlight' the Host like every 10-15 seconds to remind the current 'Lobby Host' to start the game. (see below)

And if you just joined a new Lobby, for the first 10 seconds you should see this:

The countdown resetting when someone joins or leaves a lobby is annoying as sh*t, just start the game after 30secs if there is 2 on each side.

AFK players need to be kicked for inactivity.

Call me crazy but I think the sliders effect Mid Range shots for the CPU...

Once I'm 100% positive about this I'll provide my feedback in the slider thread....

It's kind of like all the weird animations inside the paint....some of those animations mainly layups become very rare the higher you tend to raise a certain slider.

The sliders effect animations and if I continue to see what i saw last night this mid range shot issue might just simply be the CPU defering to 3's and layups because the game programs them to think that way....

but we might be able to over ride the code with sliders....

For example they absolutely will not dunk the ball at all if you put Dunk Frequency down to 0

I was hoping to enjoy this demo more than I did but I feel that EA still has a way to go with this game. The main negative for me is the action within the paint. It seems that once a player gets into the paint there is not much that you can do to stop them defensively. It is almost as if the defensive player is not there and there seems to not be many contact animations. Also rebounding seems off as well. There have been many times that I have pressed triangle to try to rebound while the ball was near me and my player did not even attempt to grab the ball. It seems that there is a lot of work still left for Live as far as replicating 5 vs. 5 basketball.

That being said I do think that the presentation in the game is great as well as the arenas and overall aesthetic. EA made great improvements to the look of the game. I also am really enjoying the Pro Am modes a lot. I just hope that I get to play with some OSers soon. I think EA is headed in the right direction and look forward to seeing the improvements they will continue to make in the coming years. Hopefully some of the aforementioned problems can be fixed with patches once the retail game comes out.

I also had a weird glitch happen that I hope is not in the retail version. Did anyone else have a glitch where players were missing part of the torso and jersey? Happnened to Ibaka and Mo Williams in a game I had.

Mine is still installing so only been able to play the quick game but I hope not. Lack of team differentiation plagued Live 15 and it was basically NBA Generic 15.

I hope we don't get NBA Generic 16 this time. Different play styles are much needed.

I put three pointers, paint etc at zero. I put mid at 100.

The CPU shot 27 three balls and attacked the paint non stop.

I doubt the sliders work PM...hoping it is something a tuning update can fix though.

Note: i am playing on all star level. Have also played superstar. Not sure if that is a factor.

Pro was way, way too easy.

There are definitely some differences. I.e. Cavs run some three point plays for Love / Clippers post up Blake more.

But overall teams pretty much play the same so far...each team fast breaks, each team shoots tons of threes, each team attacks the paint, all bigs put the ball on the floor and attack the hoop (even from the top of the key...Varajo, Mosgov will put it on the floor and barrel into the paint to try and score)

Playing the demo is the most fun I have had playing a Bball game in a long time. I've had way more wow moments than wtf. I would tell the people having trouble on D learn to bump your man, when the guard takes you off the dribble switch and bump him with another player when he drives, makes for some fun moments. On the pnr switch players and pump the ball handler see what you get. At first I thought rebounding was bad, but when you learn how to work it, it feels good.

So far it's the best on the court Bball I have played, and some of the best off the ball movement I have seen... Is it perfect NO, but no game has lived up to where I think this gen should be.... NONE!

That may be true for the existing Live16 demo build, but shouldn't the AI look to shoot midrange 2 pointers regardless. Yes, I have see some (key word, some) midrange 2 pointers on All star, but there needs to be more.

This game has the funkiest animations I've ever seen, and Im an animator. Sometimes its okay, but when its bad, its brutal. Very stiff.. its like its NBA Live 16: The Lego Movie. Players speedup and warp and all kinds of oddities. Players pass the ball backwards over their shoulder, shooting backwards, sidewards. Shorts do a weird popping effect at the free throw line.
Jamal Crawford looks terrible, like he wants to drink a glass of Pepto Bismol on the rocks. Durant is He-man buff, when he's rail thin irl. Lebron rolls his eyes back into his head at the free throw line like he's the Undertaker. Steve Kerr looks straight outta a zombie movie. Doc Rivers looks like a mix between himself, Obama + KRS 1 nose wise.
There are no penalties for all the momentum movements at all. You can back dribble, spin all day and never lose control of the ball. this stuff really stands out.

Agree, with every single point, my thoughts exactly. Was playing Clips vs Wiz earlier, JJ goes in for a drive, gets knocked completely out of pounds, about 4-5 players are off the court behind the goal, with the ball, the Wiz then come out of bounds no stop in play and start pushing it up the court, I'm like WTH just happened. Half the two teams were out of bounds with the ball, no stoppage of play, out of bounds issues, nothing, play just keeps going, hahaha.

Ok, got the demo and hit the ground running on it. Couldn't do the face scan thing my phone isn't compatible but that's neither here nor there. Played summer circuit and then hit some Live Run and i've got to say it's pretty fun and addicting. I was never really an online player but i can see how fun it can be..............................................IF ....and i mean if you have a TEAM instead of the dudes that want to make it rain all game. Seriously though this game can be fun as long as you got people that make it fun.

Is this game ready for the big leagues? not a chance, i mean it's just not quite there yet, it's not quite a simulation to me. There are just animations and just run of the mill basketball issues that are not quite there yet. Wish there was a bit more collision and physicality, i can't count how many moments i asked "WTF how did he make that layup in that kind of traffic?" Because you wouldn't be able to make those kind of layups and dunk on like 3 people in traffic.

I'm in love with the customization though, i like the UI and the options and how the clothes look real crispy. All in all it's probably the most fun i've had with a live game in a WHILE. While it has a LONG way to go to get to simulation level imo this is certainly without a doubt a step in the right direction. If the Demo is any indication i'm not sure it's worth $60 dollars though to be honest, might cop it when it gets cheaper. 3 Stars out of 5 for this demo, Enjoyable but certain issues hold it back
