Just played 2 games of pro am. I'm not an online guy. Hated the park in 2k. It's not my thing. But the 1st game one guy just stayed in the back court and kept giving our team 8 sec violations. No one would pass the ball. The 2nd game was just all ball hogs. Both games had slight lag. Was slow and sluggish. I hate online game play. But in both games animations were wack. Rebounding was wack and sluggish. Controls are limited. Live has a ways to to go. Maybe one day they will be competitive. It's just not now I'm not going to sugar coat it

Basically Live has done a lot of good stuff. Example, lighting is great. Players look real. Shooting is two million times better. The game is fun. But I am not going to defend it. If others dislike it they dislike it. I do not play games online so really do not care if no one else plays it.

been playing the demo A LOT. its incredible! i love it! the graphical upgrade is very nice. haven't really gotten into pro am a lot since the app really isnt compatible with my smartphone. but the gameplay has vastly improved. most animations seem smooth and realistic. the last few years ive really been into the other game but im betting on Live this season. may pick up the other game later on this year maybe holiday but 9/29 will be unlocking full game. Great job EA. if u can not go into playing this game with the mind frame of "how does it compare to 2k" then people just might enjoy it...

Wait what did we do? We posted on our official Twitter that the generic scans would be updated when the game launches. So either you're sweating Steve's tweets on his personal account or the moderation on the forums. I don't control Steve or the modding, just confused as we haven't done like a front-page story on this or anything.

This is my experience also...

One thing I have discovered is people dislike EA Sports and just have a bias. FIFA gets bashed compared to PES and Live compared to 2K. I do not find FIFA or Live without issues. But they are both fun and good games this year. I love that both gave us a good demo and I will be getting them. The real odd thing to me is not the pointing out flaws in the EA games but the blindness to flaws in PES and 2K.

Only difference is Live 16 has ESPN, some more sig jumpers, better footplanting, and better graphics. But a lot of the mediocre animations are still the same, especially around the basket. Passing is still has some elements of Live on PS2.

I'll get the play the demo more over the weekend. I still have to finish the rest of the tutorial to get the controls down better. I just think NBA Live isn't a game that is taken very seriously and IMO is just past off as fun for a lot of people. Not much is expected compared to it's competitor and that's just a fact. I don't know how many years I've heard "Live has a good foundation".

Bottomline is they are so far behind. A console generation last about 6-8 years. We are already in year 2 of this generation, yet their game animates and the movements are like their PS3 game from 8 years ago. It is what it is.
Damn I have to agree 100%

Both games have flaws. Just one had a lot more than the other

I agree with this. In 2015 Live had some issues. One for me was the shooting. That is way improved.

I use a big too and experience this. Mix of lag, lack of animations, not boxing out, ratings and just the way the ball bounces off the rim.

At this point I'd be very happy to be lag free and just some more awareness or gathering animations when the ball is free.

One of the best things and most realistic things about Live16 is the way they handle steals. The reaction time of Live16 defenders to steals are represented extremely realistically.

If you've played the 'other' game, whenever a steal happens, it actually looks scripted or psychic because the defenders put their hands up even before the pass is thrown, and other times hands would go up when the ball has not even reached the halfway point between the passer and recipient. This is one of the most frustrating thing about the other game. The combination of floaty passes and psychic hands creates a frustrating experience. I have already seen the same sequence play out in 2k16 gameplay videos.

In Live16, however, the defender doesn't have the psychic/scripted motion. The defender would only put his hands/arms up when the ball is in close proximity. Check out steals of Bogut and Lebron. Both of these steals are realistically represented. The ball crosses the 85% way point with the ball almost to the recipient before the defender puts his hands up. This is a realistic representation of how a stolen pass should look. Nothing looks scripted. Nothing looks psychic.

The steals in Live16 are such a thing of beauty.

Yeah, I agree!! In this day and age social media is probably one of the main driving forces behind marketing and advertisement. Having bad press about you on twitter isn't something you just shrug your shoulders at. It went from fans posting about the pics to tagging nba players about them. The nba players then in turn reacted negatively to live's pics on twitter which caused all these sports news outlets to make a buzz out of it.

Now when you look up live on twitter you see bits and pieces of it being fun or ok, now its face jokes, the nba live 16 kevin durant backwards shooting glitch, or this game is a joke dont buy it.

Live needs to release some updated screenshots of those players before its released to gain some momentum back real talk!!

I honestly did not see the CPU attempt an ally oop in about ten full games.

Now I am playing Washington and Wall to Beal have put FIVE ally oops on me in the first quarter....

No idea why. Maybe it is a team thing / Washington have more oops in their play book.

It is absolutely unguardable though. My AI guy loses Beal every time while I guard Wall.

The thing about this game is, if you play it properly (defend the CPU like a real team does, run your offense like a real team does)you almost never see the silly stuff and it can create some amazing looking results.

I just played the Warriors and had Curry and Thompson doing nice little hand-offs and either popping threes or driving and pulling up from mid-range after creating space. They were both also performing very true to their real life tendencies, coming off screens, launching threes on fast breaks and generally creating havoc. The team in general was making the extra pass and visually, the game looked very impressive.

The set plays the CPU and you can run, plus the spacing and realistic off the ball movements are some of the best a bball game has seen.

3 major improvements will do wonders for this game;

- replace the funky animations around the hoop and remove the automated behind the back and general yo-yo dribbling while bringing the ball up
- tighten up the momentum built into the animations and actually allow skilled players to stop on a dime while at the same time, making the big guys much slower and robotic
- loosen up the rebounds, they seem pre-determined and half the time your button presses do nothing

It's also the selective moderation as well.

It's hard to respect, what should be an unbiased forums when a thread constructively criticizing one game gets closed, yet the other game is allowed to be absolutely panned with junk like 'Android graphics' and' polish a turd'.

Another positive = blocking is really good. Hard to explain, but it has 'weight' to it...you can feel the ball as you swat it away.

I have played almost every LIVE and this is the first one to get blocking done really well.

DeAndre Jordan is great fun to use in this game...only player I feel really in control of re rebounding. And his blocks are great.

I only had time to play one game, I played the Thunder vs the Cavs. I really enjoyed the game a lot more then last year. There are still little things that don't look right like some of the floaters in the paint but overall the game looked great. I liked the movement off the ball. I'd say its a step in the right direction, I don't know if its a purchase for me but I'm interested to play more games.

Man wtf ever the other game gets crucified as well as madden(another Ea game) those are the 2 most popular forums on this site....if yall expect live to get better learn to take the good with the bad..if live is to ever progress you have to start telling Ea the real (in a respectful manner) and not agreeing with everything they put out is GOLD when its not(stop being fbs of the company and be fbs of the game)

Aint no BIAS

Playing with a human player, this game is much better and much more enjoyable. Preordered last night for that reason ! My buddy and I played for hours last night and there was a great flow going on and some great moments. Hes not even a Live guy. The cpu AI takes away some fun factor. Hopefully online with full game will be just as good couch play.

More like selective reading....

Your focusing on that one thread that got closed to get your point across....but if you've been in the 2k forum more that 5 minutes you'll see its not free form criticism either. There are day long debates and calf muscles over there.

You think Lives graphics are groundbreaking....that's fine, you said as much last year....but not everyone who disagrees is "used to the other game".....some just don't agree. Of course some guys take it to another level, but that's not exclusive to this board.
