There's a 27 page thread critiquing Andre Iguodala's rating on that forum, lol. It's just as crazy. I thought the Twitter stuff was unfair but with so many copies in the wild before the rookie faces get patched in that was bound to happen.

Anyone seeing much of a CPU mid range game?

Seems to be almost entirely paint shots plus three balls???

Tried the EA sideline camera for the first time and this is the only way this game should be played, IMO.

Right.

On the faces: it was definitely unfair....but I can't say I didn't chuckle....can't take these games too serious. We've had the same roasting sessions about the abomination that is Glen Davis' on 2k amongst other players....

Looking at some of these Live fans twitters you would think their first borns were being dissed.

I think there's 2 parts to it: 1) people cape up on Twitter, they just do.
2) Some people seem to think Live is in serious jeopardy of going the way of MVP Baseball or NFL 2K or College Hoops or NCAA Football, so every problem like this feels like a crisis.

For me, being in contact with some devs, last night sucked for them, and it's a shame, but it's part of the world of game dev.

I agree EA needs to hear what is wrong and Live like all games needs improved upon.

Statements like it looks like an Adroid game will however not get the devs attention. Come on the game looks as good as the other one. We can not compare the games in this forum or I would illustrate a graphics area that Live smashes most sports games in. Talk about things that really need addressed.

Some layup animations need to be fixed. Teleporting should never occur. But the game graphics are actually good. They are equal to and better in some areas than any other sports game. Arena lighting is superb. Jerseys oddly in all basketball games look wonky but these are improved and better than any game to date.

Yep, EA needs the real scoop. I want them to fix what is wrong and having to sort through ridiculous complaints that are not accurate will not help them do so.

My favorite thing about the Twitter thing was Bleacher Report jumping all over it. Hahaha anyone ever seen the Twitter hate they get? Makes this EA thing look like nothing. Irony oh irony....

I do like BR "In Photos" stories but outside that they offer pretty much nothing... Ooops I need go tweet that.

More Impressions (but pretty much the same)
Another impressions ... demo is simply fun playing against the CPU. The more I play the more I am heavily incline to buy the retail version. Because the control schemes are different from both games, it's a challenge transitioning between both games.

For those that say you can't play Live16 like 2k, I beg to differ. My play style is still the same. I play both 2k and Live16 the same exact way. Ball movement, looking for the open shots, screen, pick and roll, play call when needed, freelance. Basketball is basketball.

Compared to the other game, I am absolutely loving the fact that I am completely free from any animations locking me up or moving my player to a location I don't want. That is probably the biggest draw to NBA Live16. I am hoping 2k16 doesn't have any lock up animations anymore.

Love the zippy passes. Love that I am able to make passes that I can make in real life without worrying about the ball getting stolen. If I make a truly bad pass, then steals are definitely appropriate.

Finally getting the hang of doing fast breaks. Still dislike too many high arcing shots on the interior.Still dislike the delay jump in the interior. Please bump up the difficulty on the lower level.

Questions

Does anyone know how to do post up spin around drive to the basket move? I can execute a fade away shot, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do what Andre does in the below video ... I don't care about the dunking part, I just need to know how to do a spin and drive ...

Note: I'm strictly talking about when you are in post up backing down position. I know you can spin with the right analog stick, but I'm looking for something that allows me the spin and drive with a big man down in the post. As it stands now, I can only spin and do a fade away shot.

Played three full games today...

I do not see any midrange game at all? No catch and shoot midrage...no pull up Js. No midrange Js off picks.

The CPU is ENTIRELY attack the paint and three point shots almost.

Anyone seeing a legit midrange game from the CPU?

Anyone noticing more mid range j's?

Hopefully they fix guys not cutting to the basket in transition

Yeah, there is basically no midrange game now.

It is entirely guys attacking the hoop...or pulling up for three. That is literally the entire CPU game plan for every team.

Kevin durant does a lot of shots off the dribble n mid range j's to answer ur earlier questions.

I mean honestly it doesnt look as good far away...but up close the game looks great...so calling it a ps2 game, who cares?? Lol... and you dont HAVE to compare games to prove live looks good thats what photo n video threads are for!!! Folks be so ready to compare it to the other game on some stuff, BUT when you get to really dissecting it and it doesnt compare "then its not fair!!the dev team had little time/less to work with etc/their new/less funds.. " Stop trying to use the other games as a crutch then!!!...Let Live stand on its own merit(Not you per se Sprite i'm just speaking in general)!! It looks good graphically in some areas and in some it doesnt to me but overall its Cool. They dont have to sort through a ridiculous amount of complaints on here because they can just simply ignore them, but in the same token just because you might feel its "ridiculous" doesn't mean its not true either!!! I'm sure the Live team has its big boy pants on when they read these forums and comments they'll be aight...

Live has definitely made progress, but they're still so far behind.

I don't think it's too long before the series is scrapped entirely. 2K has a stranglehold on the market, and they did it without having to get the exclusive license. I would love to have two great basketball games, but I just don't think EA are the ones to provide it. Maybe Sony should give it another go.

Have you people looked at the sales for Live over the past few years? Absolutely atrocious. There's no way EA can justify making it for much longer. That's just reality. It's actually incredible how much 2K sells every year considering it's a pretty niche genre.

Really enjoying this game, didn't play the last previous years. There still a couple of funky animations but I do like the player models, court size, color, graphics and the way offense runs. Hearing that the dynasty mode is terrible is the reason I'll have to wait to purchase this.

Just a couple of observations....thankfully mprice has mentioned this to the devs....but they really need to tweak your AI teammates transition logic....got burned here by Iggy running straight down. the middle and there were two Clippers ahead of everyone.

https://vid.me/mXYi

I'd like to see this sequence happen faster:

https://vid.me/je94

I hit the pass button about a second before he passed it, and Instead of a quick move BG takes some unnecessary steps to finish

One nice play though is this anticipation steal by Lance

https://vid.me/S7bO

I think someone mentioned this before but there a bit of a delay when you switch on to a defender....when your switching over to a helper this delay kills you. I think this would help with some interior D complaints

Your observation looks to be right. The CPU either shoots 3 or drives to the basket. I decided to count the actual number of midrange shots in my last game. Warriors (me) vs. OKC (cpu).

1st quarter: 2 midrange shot
2nd quarter: 6 midrange shot
3rd quarter: 4 midrange shot
4th quarter: 3 midrange shot

With the exception of 2 or 3 midrange shot, the other ones were taken because the 24 second clock was winding down to 0. I was playing on ball defense taking away driving lanes. Now that you guys mention it, I can't unthink it. This definitely needs to be patched.

If synergy is suppose to track players tendencies and whatevers, could synergy be the solution to the lack of midrange.

Darn it. Now I'm back on the 50/50 train (to buy or not to buy live16). Fun demo, but without the midrange ...

I'll have to test it out with other teams.

Yes 2k is great I am tired of it I really enjoy the demo and the gameplay. I am planning on buying live this year as a change of pace. I love the ESPN interface. The differ feel has got Ben me a renewed interest. I hope they keep moving the game forward . Big improvement over last year .

On pro setting

on superstar

im really getting annoyed by the lack of a mid range game from the CPU. and the lack of a post Defense. and no i dont considered that horrible block animation post defense. since most of the time it seems to act as a disservice than a helpful thing.

also. WHO IDEA WAS IT TO MAKE THE BOX OUT BUTTON THE SAME AS SET A SCREEN. i cant tell you how many times i tried to box someone out for the rebound, to only get forced into setting a pick. What the hell?

im still getting this game cause it can be fun and i loved 15 (till i finally had enough of the inside game) but this needs work. i cant believe we are about to enter year 3 with things like rebounding broken, and shot selection like above happening. Can we please get some damn post defense. this is ruining pro am.

i literally made a 7'3 center to see how much easier this game gets. LOL we actually been criusing thru the summer curcuit and live runs since how easy it is to perform on the offensive end. and once luck is on your side and Defense works out, its really GG other team.
