NBA Live 16 News Post


The NBA Live 16 demo is available now for Xbox One gamers and is scheduled to release at 1:00 PM ET for PlayStation 4. We will update this post when it officially arrives on the PS Store.

UPDATE: It's now 2:00 PM ET, no sign of the demo on PS4, we will post when it is available.

The demo includes the new LIVE Pro-Am mode, featuring both the competitive LIVE Run and cooperative Summer Circuit. For those of you looking for an offline experience you can play exhibition games in Tip-Off mode. Users can choose from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden St. Warriors, Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers. Players can adjust sliders, difficulty level, play up to 12 minute quarters and more. It also includes tutorials.

Download it, play it and post your impressions.

So, I played the demo and it was fun. I think the presentation was really good. I like the ESPN packaging, and I also like the graphics that appear when you shoot telling you what is happening during the shot and their percentage. I also like the graphics that show energy levels and stuff like that. Crowd noise and actions were also pretty good.

I like the camera angle also. For some reason, you can see the floor better and it's easier to pass all over the floor even though it's from a side view.

It looks really good overall. I haven't played basketball games in a while so that was pretty cool. If it was around $30 I might give it a shot. However, while I won't get it, it is fun to play with.

I think it's because of the lack of free reign over the off ball swat.....for some reason the series has never made it instantly responsive....the best easy to play a passing lane is to just move your player into It....

He's not rotating, he's flat out switching, looked like with Ibaka.

And yeah, I hope they have a fix in for it in the patch. I haven't gotten confirmation one way or another yet, but we talked a lot about it from when the first videos dropped until now.

The CPU is ENTIRELY attack the paint and three point shots almost.



Anyone seeing a legit midrange game from the CPU?

This is my experience as well. I have the retail copy and the midrange game doesn't exist. Same as last year imo. Either drive to the paint or 3's

Big problem with this game is that when you call a play for a specific player using the playwheel (let's say SF), once the play is in motion and after the first pick or pass, it'll place whoever regardless of position in the assigned spot on the floor of how the play runs.

Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly but if you call a play for Durant for him to have the ball in the high post, you may have a PG posted up in the paint or a Center behind the 3-point line.

I've seen this multiple times.

It's like once the play is ran for a player, spots on the floor are predetermined but there is no logic that says bigs should be down low and wings should be up high.

I can't be the only one to notice this.

Is there anyway to edit controls. Having to hold R1 to icon pass is horrible. Not intuitive at all. Also is there lead passing in this game?

Yes, there are no catch and ahoot mid range / two point plays.

It is all drive and kick...three balls.

It is entirely paint shots and three balls.

Which means it will get old very, very fast unfortunately. There are no real team styles or variety no mid range game is a massive game killer.

Unless the day one patch fixes this.
