Yeah...long term problem.

The issue is far, far worse in basketball though as team styles are so important / teams clearly use different offenses / players clearly have different roles in the NBA.

More so than say, the EPL.

Is there a way we can see the CPU shot feedback?...I think it would help if we could determine what the game is interpreting as a "contest"

I think Live '15 provided this in scrimmage....the camera is broken for me in the practice modes so I haven't been able to test it..

1st quarter: 2 midrange shot
2nd quarter: 6 midrange shot
3rd quarter: 4 midrange shot
4th quarter: 3 midrange shot

With the exception of 2 or 3 midrange shot, the other ones were taken because the 24 second clock was winding down to 0. I was playing on ball defense taking away driving lanes. Now that you guys mention it, I can't unthink it. This definitely needs to be patched.

If synergy is suppose to track players tendencies and whatevers, could synergy be the solution to the lack of midrange.

Darn it. Now I'm back on the 50/50 train (to buy or not to buy live16). Fun demo, but without the midrange ...

I'll have to test it out with other teams.

Obviously an addition with "cpu tendancies" sliders would be a nice patch. All these issues disappear when playing a friend locally. The fun factor and realism jumps like from a 6 to an 8 when you play a human player.

Not that i know of. they really need to add that, and of course the ability to alter "cpu tendencies" with sliders.

I don't look for flaws like a lot of modern day gamers, I'm more old school. Meaning if the game is fun I'm buying it regardless.

I realize that no game will ever simulate real life like a lot of gamers expect these days. NBA Live 16 demo is a whole lot of fun, IMO and what more do I need.

Can't wait for the release.

Honestly, if I had to choose, I'd rather the CPU play 3 and key offense as opposed to forcing it into the post all game. I am waiting for the first roster update and patch to submit team tendency feedback, as I do think this is fixable. We'll see.

This game has one of the best, if not the best sets of animations for post entry passes, and for recieving the post entry pass and going hard to the basket with either a drop step or power dribble to a dunk. I swear my jaw has been on the floor a number of times after seeing those animations.

I'm going to post this here as well, for context:

A little more context on shots by location in the nba this year:

By numbers: TOTAL 3 POINT SHOTS: 53,107

TOTAL SHOTS IN THE PAINT (Not counting shots from the elbow): 92,530

ALL OTHER SHOTS: 54,745

TOTAL SHOTS: 200,382

3 POINTERS: 26.5% of total attempts

SHOTS IN THE PAINT: 46.17% of total attempts

ALL OTHER SHOTS: 27.3% of shot attempts

If you extrapolate this on a per-game basis (83.56 shots per game per team), you should see 22.14 3s, 38.58 shots in the paint, and 22.81 shots from all other ranges (these won't add up exactly since I rounded off). If we are perfectly replicating NBA averages, you should see 5.5 midrange shots per quarter per team. Now, of course, this should be even more heavily slanted towards the paint, as this is measuring field goal attempts and not shooting fouls, which we know happen more often in the paint than anywhere else.

Based on this information, as an estimate, the average NBA team attempts a little more than half of their shot attempts (fouled and otherwise) in the paint, a quarter from 3, and a quarter from midrange, meaning 75% of all shot attempts are either in the paint or from 3.
