Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

I've only played one CFM game so far and it played pretty close to normal, even though Tom Brady seemed a bit skittish early on. He was sacked 4 times in the game, all in the first half. One user sack. One corner blitz that got free clean. The other two were pressured where he rolled to the right into a sack. He scrambled up the middle once. As an offline solo player, the game played beautifully out of the box. The slight issues I had were easily remedied with small incremental slider tweaks. I'm afraid every subsequent attempt to fix things that are being affected will eventually result in this game going NBA2K 15 and being unplayable by the final patch.
There is. Well kinda. If you control 32 teams for some reason there are no drive goals. I am 100 on this cause when I did it week one no drive goals for the first 3 games. I had to turn all users to auto pilot to get them back on. So it was a nice find on my part. Shocked no one that does 32 teams caught this btw.

Iīm going to try this i guess. as last resort. So confidence never moved? but i have to control all 32 teams? that is a HELL No lol

Hopefully i can set everything to CPU.

So seriously people, someone give some factual data or screenshots that confidence is still an issue in CFM?Giving guys big boosts or causing them to lose alot.... someone post real findings on this please, not just "its messed up"

Problem is that long time 32 team cfm advocate Armor and Sword says 32 team control cfms are buggy

Hi howboutdat,

first, on screenshot it doesnīt look that bad. Thatīs why i didnīt post any screenshots since as myself will say, hey thatīs not bad. your player is 85 overall and it only increased to 88 in 3 weeks. 1 overall per game. Not that bad.

QB numbers are SA 88 MA 87 DA 61
With confidence increased to SA to 92, MA 90 DA 63 Itīs only 3 or 4 rating boost (so far, he is 80 overall he can still increased).

The problem is on the field and i canīt show you a screenshot of that. The game plays the same as it was before teh patch. feeling that you can beat every player, your QB never miss a throw, your OL start pancaking DL like if they were DB.

To me personally, it seems like they tweaked the UI but the game behave exactly the same. Screenshots shows UI, so it will be pointless to post it.

EA fixed the UI, thatīs for sure. but my QB is still throwing like when his accuracy was like 100+

I can show you my OL being on top of the NFL in pancakes if you want. that i can do.

Okay, so I understand correctly. Pick all 32 coaches, have the cpu fill rosters. Play your desired teams games and advance week and the cpu will sim the rest. No drive goals? Or no drive goal boosts? Or no drive goal pop-ups?

destiny doesnīt want me to play this game! come on! just give me a decent workaround for this confidence thing! I feel like im playing on All pro, and then after week 7 i get the difficultly reset to rookie. how iīm suppose to set a slider if the confidence thing change things so much?

Sucks there always requires a work around. Just want to play the mode as intended and let the CPU make its own decisions all the time without me handicapping the system. Even if their moves are at times foolish.

The patch fixed multiple items but there are still some items that need fixing. It's not fair to say the patch was a failure. There is some belief that the patch and tuner are creating some issues when paired together.


on field in play now still the best madden to date. CFM is a mixed bag of apples at this point.

yes it definitely messed with gameplay in CFM.


I never saw the CPU Robo QB until after the patch. its disappointing but am hoping they can fix it. I really was enjoying the game.

To be honest i donīt think i t is the patch since play now still plays great. Its the CFM that have some issues, i believe it is the confidence thing, since its the only difference i see from Play Now to CFM.

and the thing with confidence, it never goes down. it always going up. make no sense.

Like i said it feels like the UI is fixed it, but the players are still performing with 100+ rating boost even when the UI says itīs not. I always go to the QB and OL because that is very visible, since never ever had that happened on Play now.

Funny, I didn't see this kind of stuff in my test CFM pre patch. I went 7-0 with the Lions and then I lost two games including 37-14 to the Packers and then I won 23-6 vs the raiders ( was putting up 30+ points a game before that).

really? have you entered the depth chart? it was very well known bug. Players were given boost that past 100 mark rating.

If you like to play now games, you should it is amazing. But if you are a CFM, you may be disappointed.

All the organic and realistic game play you get from play now games is gone on CFM. Well not entirely, but you see it less often, it feels like a game. What got me worried is since the confidence is dynamic, how i can change sliders? do i set them for players with 99 confidence( since i will be there in a few weeks and i donīt see how players can go down).

My biggest problems with ratings boost from confidence are QB and OL play. i may try to set both at 0 for user and see how it goes. I honestly donīt know how to go forward with this.

I will never understand the issues EA has when it comes to tuning or patching.

I'm being sarcastic obviously with the QB percentages but how does this happen?? I shouldn't ask that because I already know the answer. Remember the whisper game when you were like 5 or 6? Whisper a phrase into classmate ear, they then whisper it to someone else, this then continues around the room. The last person then says out loud the phrase, which will be different from when it started. The more people involved the more things get distorted. Apply this to developing a video game and multiple hands involved, you get this kind of stuff.

Gonna go on a limb fellas but I think we are witnessing ol Ben haubamillers finest here. Those that have played NCAA since his take over know good and well this has his name all over it as we have felt it every year...it's just been a while so it feels new. NCAA would be running great before patch...just some Sim stats and some dynasty stuff would need fixed...but before you know it...patch would hit rendering that Game useless in dynasty. Oh well
