Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop

Also , so who has ran tests to make sure the confidence still isnt high too often in games in cfm? I mean can or has anyone confirmed yet that players arent getting attribute boosts over 100? What is the highest people have seen post patch a players attribute go up to? really anything over 5 points from normal seems rather unreal to me. Would like to hear exactly how much all that has changed post patch.... anyone? with 77 pages, kinda hard to run back thru all that.

Can i quickly confirm, that if I want to buy this and play a CFM then the 2 'main' issues as such, to deal with are:

1 - Rookie speed out of the draft?
2 - LT regressing and at the same time Sack stats being out of whack?

Other than that, the game is pretty much good to go?

Im assuming no workaround for #1 but #2 has possibilities based on work some guys are doing on here.

I am actually assuming that since deleting the tuner fixes some things in game that hopefully it fixes the LT regression since that is tied to the QB...but in everyones excitement...no one is actively trying this dang it and I am at work or I would have already been on top of this.

I really hope your right. I can see now, if on fix for it, guys wont be taking sims anymore if their times dont meet up to play , they will want extensions just to save their LTs . Forget that new "sim a win" feature as well in online leagues. might cause your guys to tally up just enough in a few sims to lose numerous points that seem pretty hard to get back in xp

Sorry for the naïve question, but if I delete the tuner, will I be able to start an online CFM?

Thanks.

i believe if you delete the patch you cant play cfm. They are talking about the tuner. which is a different thing , and you can play a cfm without the most recent tuner

You can't delete the patch but you can delete the tuner. I am looking forward to starting a offline cfm post patch/no tuner this weekend. Poor QB play/robo qb are my biggest issues and since it looks like the tuner wipes that problem out, I should be good to go.

So my theory may not be crazy. Sounds like there is a chance the tuner and patch don't get along.

I played two Play Now games last night without the tuner (default AP) and loved how it felt. I still haven't gone into CFM mode, so I don't know how it plays sans-tuner there. But A&S findings sound like it plays better without the patch there as well.

Is it wise to do a online CFM again this year to get updates quicker than a patch release as we have in recent years?

I want to do what Armor is talking about. Is he just deleting the tuner? If so how do I delete the tuner to play offline CFM?

How would online CFM work if some have the tuner and some don't? Would that even be possible?

The first and third show Cutler never ever letting the play develop. Not under pressure...just three steps....take off...with a turbo sprint. Hectic QB play. Never saw this from QB's before at all. The second link shows Forte just running straight into Cutler (knocked him off his feet and he get's up and then throws the ball into the ground).

It happened a 4th time...but I did not catch that on video...but it was the same exact thing as the first and third link.

Once I deleted the tuner the game felt organic, flowed, QB's had rhythm, stayed in the pocket went through progressions properly again.

Just like it did pre patch post tuner.

So I again once I eliminated the tuner (not the patch) the game went back to the great playing game it was on the field before the patch dropped.

I am going to Re-DL the tuner and see if applying it post patch results in the same odd QB behavior in the pocket.

Thanks for being so attentive to the game and the community!
Dude, that was hysterical. Forte hockey slew footed him!

Been testing....night and day post patch. Something about this patch and the tuner does not jive. I noticed it right away with QB play.

Nevermind. I got my answer a few posts later. It was an offline CFM which means I may actually get to start my CFM as long as no other game killers pop up.

I deleted the tuner and everything plays as it did before this patch.

Been streaming and it is so obvious.
This is great to hear as I love your sliders. My only worry is have you tested CFM at all since the patch to see if it is now playable?

This is something im interested to know as well. 32 man league here...

I'm pretty sure you have to have the tuner to play online. So an online franchise, you'd have to have it. Deleting the tuner is only an option for an offline franchise.

I agree but unfortunately it was implemented because of the douche canoes online who do not know how to play football the right way. This is the main reason I won't even consider playing online. It's rarely a pleasant experience for me.

It's a shame they felt the need to tweak an already good game because of this nonsense and it would be great if they could figure out a way to only apply those changes online while leaving the game as it is offline.

It asks you everytime you start the game and you can just pick "no"
