Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Just played my second game of the night, the only issue I am having is high scoring games. Last game NYJ(me):45-39TEN. I will post some stats below. This is my second year as coach in CFM all pro with adjustments to sliders.
Mariota:
22-32 302yds 3 td 1 int, 5 rushes for 20yd (he ran only when under pressure)
Forte:
22 carries for 68yd 1td.

Jets
Gains(my rookie qb)
11-19 205yds 1td 1int
Griffin(rookie)
29 carries 156 yds 3 td
Stacy
9 carries 89 yds 2 rd

Overall it was a back and forth game, Mariota wasn't running randomly he would run when I would blitz. I am not noticing a lot of qb scrambles, or perfect passing on either side of the ball. Mariota missed at least 3 deep passes where they had me beat. I play strict player lock no switch on both sides of the ball and never control my QB.

Been testing....night and day post patch. Something about this patch and the tuner does not jive. I noticed it right away with QB play.

I deleted the tuner and everything plays as it did before this patch.

Been streaming and it is so obvious.
I can't remember. What was the tuner supposed to be fixing again anyways?

Just me or anyone else notice frame rate issues? I've been having issues after big catches or running once i get past the line??

Out of curiosity, were you in the camp of "deep balls are OPed" prior to the tuner or no?

I would assume no since you're an offline CFM kind of guy. Seems like it was mostly user v user players that had the issue of people abusing the deep ball
No, I never found the deep balls Oped at all vs the CPU.

My game still freezes after every franchise game and I have to completely exit out and load up everything again. Sometimes it saves it and sometimes it doesn't.

Anyone else still have this problem?

I feel you on that one. I haven't been able to do a franchise in four years due to the rookie classes being random and the XP system being unrealistic in its nature.

I like playing the Play Now games with FBG rosters, but that's all I can bear to do. Hopefully, this team will get the train back on the tracks in Madden 17 in regards to Franchise.

Honestly the entire team was new !! Why does the CPU completely change the team in the off season !! IRL that would never happen.. They had Geno Smith at QB !!
In 5 years it wouldnt be all that weird to see most of them gone. Especially Lynch.

I did this in advance to the release of this patch because I knew it would have a negative impact on the game. There was no day one patch.

no offense to you SEC, but you are 100% wrong about this. Day 1 when I popped in the game it started to DL a patch. I remember because I got excited thinking maybe it was the patch that was supposed to fix all the problems with CFM, then I realized it was the day 1 patch.

I simulated 2 games tonight, from the CFM I selected advance week and checked the stats after each game. Each game both QB rushed 4 times. I noticed this only happens when the game is simulated so that's why I wasn't seeing it before. To me it's not a big deal QB scramble 2-3 times in a regular game when under pressure. The bigger issue for me is the unrealistic stats that are being generated during regular sim and super sim. When I had it on all pro I was seeing RB rush for 170-200yds and 3-4td (that was my team) and the opposing QB go 11-34 150 yds. I was blowing teams away 41-12. I changed setting to all Madden and simmed another game and rushing stats were evened out but the Opposing QB had horrific stats 10-40 135yds 0 td. And I still won 20-10. Now this stat problem only occurs when the game is simmed. When I play every down on both sides of ball the stats are even. I wish they could make it so you could sim a couple games or quarters without the stats getting so screwed.

Yea...madden ai logic with personnel has always been ridiculous. I remember a few years ago Luck and RG3s rookie years the ai would always allow both of them to hit FA after their rookie contract was up, regardless of their ovr or how well they played. RG3 was a 93 ovr and just came off of a MVP season and Super Bowl win and the Skins let him walk. 100% unrealistic

Honestly makes me wonder why I even care about some of the other CFM issues when I won't be able to get past 3 years in a franchise without rage quitting due to dumb CPU controlled team logic lol.

Part of the problem is the fact that the AI doesn't plan for the future. They play year to year. So when it comes to the year they have to resign their QB they don't have cap space and they let him go (or since they know that Stafford actually sucks they let him walk in search of a new QB, even though the real life Lions would probably just resign him.

The first issue they need to fix with CFM in madden 17 is that logic, particularly pertaining to QBs. You do see good players walk at other positions often (Maclin, Marshall traded, D. Murray, etc.), but rarely do you see a team just part ways with a solid starting QB. Only ones that come to mind within the past decade really would be Peyton (and that was a special case), and Brees way back when...but again that was partly due to the fact that they already drafted the replacement not expecting him to come back as great as he did from the injury.

All my players in franchise have confidence of 99 so there no need from week to week to do anything in game prep, why is it not dynamic at all

Also im on my 4th season and theres no injuries to o-line ever and few to d-line, my qb always get injured, also when i dont want a player to return from injury they still wind up on the field, wtf??

The payers eventually come back from their injuries if they arent serious. You are only being asked if you want them to come back right away and play hurt a bit.

It appears that you guys also tuned very slow and slow game speed a little better. I would love to see a game speed slider (nba 2k). I also notice while practicing, that I threw a incomplete pass and the ball actually bounced off the side wall instead of clipping through. So far, so good. It appears you guys tuned blocking and awareness a biit better. I had a few missed blocks that should not have happened prior to the patch.

I'm not noticing anything really different in Play Now games post tuner and patch. The biggest thing is I've seen dbs come down with interceptions on contested passes and I never saw that before. Sounds like confidence in franchise is more of the problem to me.

There certainly was a day one patch.

We've always titled the first patch in October as update number one so I wouldn't be basing anything off the title of this thread.

Same here. I just played a Play Now game against the Packers and the game played wonderfully. And I have also noticed a lot more picks since the tuner update. I've turned my interceptions all the way down to 15 and it seems like I'm still getting at least one a game. And if this does turn out to be another CFM issue due to confidence that's going to be really disappointing.
