Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Re-signing guys should be difficult. It's a business after all. People want to get paid.

No it makes no difference.

Solo or 32 team. I can resign my guys during the season who are pending free agents if I don't resign them.

I didnt change any schemes so everything is default.

I just ran the test again but change both to Clutch with High Motors.

Robinson 16 games 26 sacks. Matthews 16 games 15 sacks

Ratings after 1 season

Robinson - 86 PBK 96 AWR
Matthews - 87 PBK 92 AWR

I'll have to do more tests tonight.

To counter ur point..Felix Jones has been out of the league for a few years..training for a couple months isn't the same as being in playing shape year after year...when these guys are with a team they have the best strength coaches and nutritionist (or close too)..once these guys get release or cut that is all gone...they are on their own..motivation in some guys is lacking..this is why most teams want their guys in working in OTA's cause they want them working out not relaxing..

Armor don't get mad at me but I've had the issue too. Offered Malik Jackson everywhere from what he wanted to the max I could and he wouldn't re-sign.

Not saying it's a broken game or anything but I've seen what they're talking about

Well that is interesting and possible work around

Could someone clarify this:

"Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool"

Does that mean they they expanded the amount of players that the Free Agent Pool can hold? I always hated it when low rated young players that I followed in college (for example Vinnie Sunseri last year) got deleted because of the FA limitations. If they're still there now and don't disappear forever, then that's a fantastic addition.

I am misunderstanding what they are seeing. I thought they did not have the ability to negotiate.

They are just mad they won't resign at all. Oh...well I have had some resign....some who want to test.

I like that it is not a slam dunk like in years past. And that I have to compete in the off-season to get some back.

I like that.

Felix also bulked up in his 3rd year to be an "every down back" you could already tell he lost some speed just from that. Then the 4.7 time was after he was out of the league a whole year.

He's also not on a team. Guys like him get cut.

So that's not the best example.

You cite one example - a guy who ran a 4.44 in 2008. NFLDS scouts had him at a 4.68 at the veterans combine in 2015. Throw in 8 years of separation at a position that sees the highest rate of regression. As I said in my statement, the AVERAGE for ALL PLAYERS (not just RBs with lengthy injury histories) is about a loss of 0.005 seconds for every season played.

How hard did he train? Where did he train? Was he down here at MJP or at another speed-oriented training facility? Was he overweight? Remember, when he ran in 2008, he was 207lbs. He is listed at 215 now on NFL.com. Is he even more now?

All we know for sure is that he was "training at home in Texas" prior to the event. We don't know where or with whom. Forgive me, but Jones never really seemed like a try-hard, effort-oriented kind of guy anyway, so I would not be surprised if he had a lackluster showing due to complacency. Remember, he failed the Cowboy conditioning test in 2012. If I was a betting man, I would be willing to bet that his lengthy injury history (both knees, ribs, foot, legs, and shoulders) combined with a sub-standard training regimen, and lack of effort, all likely contributed to that disappointing 40 time.

That being said, Jones is more of the exception than the rule here, and I have data to back that up. The falloff of these players over time is more correlated to injury history than to the number of years played.

None will resign until after the offseason. I would be fine if some would and some wouldn't because they want to test the waters. That would be realistic. For me, and others, none on the list will resign until the offseason.

*This isn't a deal breaker or game breaker for me, it is undesired though. And next season I won't be one of those who buys the game in the first week of release. I will give them time to patch it up and have a fully working product before I spend my money.

I am going to test this tonight. I have a test 32 team CFM going.

I will report back.

I have the video on my twitch channel. I'll have too look. Seemed to be 95 plus for acceleration. I'll look and see

I am really disappointed that they didnt fix the RESIGN issue. You still cannot resign your players until OFFSEASON and you have 1 chance to sign them.

The moral to the story is, this will be the last time I purchase Madden new. I will wait a month or so after release date and let them get all the bugs worked out before I bother. If they want to release unfinished products so they can meet deadlines, that is up to them, but I won't be one of those throwing money at them to do it.
You can resign during the season. Guys on last year of contract (like real life)

I'm playing as Vikings and at three different points during the season the CFM homepage had a section to resign certain players (Harrison Smith and Blanton)

I resigned them to realistic deals. I just think you can't Willy nilly resign whoever. They may have to be happy in scheme and approach the team about extension

I'm at work right now and this is wonderful news, but just wondering if they fixed the stats issue when you start your CFM, the stats show on each player, but doesn't show the teams they played for.

# 280 roolz @ 09/09/15 03:21 PM
Still a few fixes away from having a solid CFM mode then?

I mean yes its playable etc, but there still needs to be a couple of tweaks?

Its the only mode I touch, so if there are glaring problems that will ruin it and the immersion, then I will hold off for now.

Im desperate to get it though, been hovering over the purchase button all day
