Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Well, I just offered TE Thompson (who was actually cut by the Titans and wont even be in the updated roster) 3.7mil and a 2mil signing bonus and he was only asking for 2.4mil for 2 years and he won't sign. At the end of the season I offered him what he asked for and he instantly signed. I had to offer WR Wright 15mil +5mil signing bonus for 1 year to get him to sign. He was asking for 3 years 4mil. My mistake if that is working properly.

Does anyone think Amazon will allow me to return this game for a refund based on the CFM game mode being so glitched? I feel upset I was duped into buying the game new this year. (I usually wait a month or two for patches and buy it used)

Technically it's not glitched, it allows you to play multiple seasons as intended, just with some issues. Stop acting like you can't play the game.

I am really disappointed that they didnt fix the RESIGN issue. You still cannot resign your players until OFFSEASON and you have 1 chance to sign them.

The moral to the story is, this will be the last time I purchase Madden new. I will wait a month or so after release date and let them get all the bugs worked out before I bother. If they want to release unfinished products so they can meet deadlines, that is up to them, but I won't be one of those throwing money at them to do it.
My guess is , for some reason , they actually made it that way on purpose and thus it wont be patched. Is it realistic , not at all, but , well , ill leave it at that.

Is this really an issue or is it something that only happens for certain players, i.e. those who would be big time free agents?

I ask because I've played around some in a pre-patch online CFM as the Bills and I was able to negotiate and resign all of my players accept for Dareus.

Everybody else in the final year of their deal I was able to negotiate with week 1, including highly rated players in the final year of their rookie contract as well as veterans on a 1 year deal.

Only Dareus was unable to be resigned immediately. I assumed that was by design since he's one of the top players at his position and would be more inclined to test free agency.

I'm not certain, I've always questioned in sports titles what the factor in signing really is. In many games the logic behind final value signing is confusing.

I'll have to try this again when I'm home, maybe I missed something. I thought the only issue was always to do with star players signing for dirt cheap.

Tend to agree, most sports titles all younger players develop into a usable player. Few become RG3 and regress almost immediately. It'd be nice to know if this is by design, if so the label "bust" may be a term in madden.

I went and did a quick test of the LT regression problem by bumping up the PBK and AWR of Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews to see what would happen.

Robinson - 88 PBK - 90 AWR
Matthews - 85 PBK - 86 AWR

After season 1 Mathews only played 12 games but gave up 11 sacks. Robinson played 16 and gave up 26.

ratings at end of season
Robinson - 72 PBK - 95 AWR
Matthews - 83 PBK - 90 AWR

I need to go back and look at the traits and do the test again because the results are not what I expected.

I've only been able to resign players in week 1, or the offseason. From 99-60 rated players I can't sign them no matter how much money I offer them after week 1.

That sounds similar to my experience but I didn't attempt to resign a star myself. The only issue I have with what the original poster stated is youre only given one change post season. Semi realistic but often times in the case of Randall Cobb this year, those discussions are ongoing and go all the way to the wire. Perhaps its by instance and age/overall/etc are taken into consideration.

Why Wright would've wanted so much from him I cant explain. I want to test tonight for sure.

Is no one going to talk about and discuss the drive goal bug? Has it been tuned? Is it still a problem in CFM? Anybody seen anything yet?

# 233 The JareBear @ 09/09/15 02:21 PM
From what I can tell there's no actual word from EA that Friday's roster fixes any ratings. Hopefully we get confirmation on that either way

Actually i like it. That players get "mad" and don´t want to sign with you. Salary cap is a problem that EA never got it right, so it was very easy to get players you want. This way it adds another layer of difficulty. Sometimes players don´t want to keep playing to that team no matter what. It´s perfect? no its not. but is better than just try giving him offer until it accepts. now you have to think before giving them an offer. Do you may overpay them and get better chance of resign? maybe you will have to fight for him on FA...etc

It is every player for me. I tested it in several different franchises with different modes (owner, coach, starting before preseason, starting after preseason, etc.).
