NBA 2K16 News Post

What’s happening family. It’s your man Da_Czar… I have started my sentences with this phrase too many times to count here on OS. With this, my first official blog post as a developer, I am returning to the format that started it all.

I know many of you here have been waiting a long time for us to talk about gameplay. Well the time has finally come so I won’t waste time with any more introductions.

Czar went ham. That's some impressive stuff you guys say you're getting from the AI now. And the sets are on deck man.

This game is a simulation on a whole different level. I think we will finally get a real chess match from the CPU. This

Czar how many freelances are tied to the CPU is that hard coded or changes based off the offense?

WOW!!! for both blogs. Now what we need, since you said in press row podcast. That this game will be like DaCzar vs OG. Lets get the DaCzar vs OG on the Twitch stream this year instead of the other two guys, so we can see all thes systems, modules, Adaptions take place.

Love play type containers. Ace, interesting. As long as I'm given the option (that's BEEN featured in 2k since forever) where I call a play, and directions towards the play are marked as a guide on the hardwood floor, I'm good. [emoji106]🏾

All 2k did today was make me cancel my pre-order......and make a new pre-order for the special edition version I don't feel right just spending $60 on this masterpiece.

the A.I. can ask questions like, "where is my defender? Who are you? And who am I?"

This is, for me, the core element that has been missing.

It is really a game changer. It greatly raises the ceiling of the CPU's ability to "play basketball" It's ability to mimic concepts like intimidation, cockiness, disdain, etc., will liberate the game from the sterility and sameness that would often plague so many contests.

Ironically, IMO, many Users who in the past would say that they play on line to get a challenge that they can't get from the CPU, may now play online to have an easier time of it. I'm expecting the CPU to make the average User look like a clown show, as far as strategic basketball goes. Good Stuff.

EXACTLY! Sounds like they've even thrown a bit of "human error" in there so they (cpu) don't play/react perfect all the time either!

Awesome stuff czar! Where to start?! Absolutely amazing what each guy did in 1 year cycle. Every area you guys just killed it!

I have not read the thread yet as I actually just now got to finish your blog. If it's been answered I apologize.

Can we adjust Freelance during a timeout now?
Will freelance offense when chosen now take place in that possession and not the next?
I'm assuming you can remove plays just like you can add them in a roster update?
How many set plays does each team have in their playbook?
Has anything new changed as far as which set plays the CPU will call and why?
As a user do we have any say in picking which plays over others?
Can we save playbooks for quick online play? (I heard yes for online leagues)
How exactly does the new pnr mechanic work?
What coaching traits or team sliders are available or are editable?

And absolutely ecstatic practice plays is back! Love that we can decide which side to set the pnr as I brought that to wang 3 years ago and he liked it. Cool it's in and perfect for side pnr especially on ice. This could be the year I have a online and offline league and they could both be equally as fun! Can't wait to see the CPU coaching AI as well as player! **** I can't wait for absolutely everything! This sounds to be the GOAT! Having you and OG on this team feels good knowing you guys got our backs! I can't even imagine where you guys will go and where this game will be by 2k20! Just wow!

""For NBA 2K16 we taught the A.I. -- through a ball movement module -- how to play fundamental team basketball.

We gave the A.I. side top side ball movement principals. We also tied tempo into when a team would move from the ball movement module to looking for a scoring opportunity.""

Hoping each year we see these types of gains in CPU play
