I'm just sceptical that a company the size of 2k would be willing to sacrifice the casual fan market (which must be the vast majority of sales for them). Just to keep the niche sim market of a few thousand (if that) happy.

I hope it all works out in the end. But I will believe it when I see it. Patch 1 will say a lot.

...on the flip side. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME ANYMORE.

The current thougt process is this... If you want to score a hundred points per game put it on pro default. We are moving towards allowing the settings to determine the experience.

That is a process that will take multiple cycles but it is how we see the game progressing moving forward.

I always found hof sim to be the most realistic in user vs. User games. On lower levels it was to easy to shoot from the perimeter, and the defense was not strong enough. Is this the case this year?

Man I really would like to know which difficulties are being used for the different online modes. I hope Pro-Am is on Superstar with SIM sliders.

The happy medium should be having the ability to select your way of playing in Ranked, MyTeam and Pro-Am Online Game Modes which is simple and which is why i don't understand for all those year 2k haven't implemented yet.

That's what FIFA already does having the ability to select your "difficulty" and "control settings" (such as auto or semi manual or full manual)

So what should 2k do is simple let gamers choose whether they want to match in Ranked, MyTeam or Pro-Am modes as follows;

Difficulty Settings (Rook,Pro,AllStar,Superstar,HOF)
Slider Settings (Default, Casual, Sim)
* Optional - def auto asistance etc settings(not needed entirely but option)
If all left as is make it default 2k Settings

That way you don't have to think 2k players can get the hang of themselves as they like and like to challenge.

The game recognizes mismatches...so the next step will be the game trying to FORCE those mismatches.

There were already some post plays in 2k15 that often caused a switch where a 3 was guarding a low post 4 or 5 due to the play motion. This year Czar rebuilt almost all the plays so I expect there will be play options to create mismatches in lots of places.

2k15 Swing Motion was able to create some mismatches in freelance, too. I expect we'll see even more of that from redone freelance this year.

Now that I realize it most popular youtubers play mycareer, myteam, park, and this year pro-am.

They won't be playing regular NBA basketball with regular rosters and the only time they will be using regular NBA teams is when they are controlling their CAP in mycareer.

In myteam they will have an all-star team with current and legendary players

in park and pro-am they will be playing with their CAPS in a pick-up game type setting.

Their gaming experience doesn't really call for "Sim basketball" imo, so that's why I can see them not being excited or in some cases not caring about the new gameplay innovations.

But you know, he's irrelevant right now and so are all of his opinions because this game looks incredible. Everything about it.

Now if a VC dev/2K rep just wants to drop a line and confirm that shoes are still customisable this year, I'll drop out of university and dedicate my next year to this game.
Or he's just trolling for views and subscriptions.

I had no idea who this Flight guy was, but I now see him mentioned on almost every 2K promotional video, on social media, and now on OS.

If I trap with Dirk on the pick and roll, I want to get blown by.
I thought BEDS did a great job with that this year. Playing with John Wall is much better than it was in 2K15 IMO.

Yes but this will only change on trends. I'll be watching games, you will be watching games. From there I'll take that information to my NBA contacts and go from there. That's why I wanted to put the CP3 example in the blog. We could all see something specific in game 46 of the regular season BUT that may only happen that one time.

Hey OG, really nice job.

Can you talk a little about Fouls and Turnovers ? I mean, Are we going to get good sim numbers next to real life numbers ? More offensive fouls, traveling calls, more fouls off ball ? Reading about the new AI, are we going to get more animations of bad passes, errors of communication. I mean, the guy passes and the receiver goes first and the balls goes out of bounds, you know, some bad timing. I know we had this on 2k15, but they seen random and not so organic.

Thanks a lot for your effort and all the dev team. Talking form Brasil. Pre Order made today for PC.

How customizable are the new defensive adjustments in game for the user? This ace thing has me a bit confused. Also will hedging with a slow big leave you open to a blocking foul?

Let me ask if playing in an online league head to head will having auto defensive settings will the CPU still make coaching adjustments as if they would against another user? Meaning let's say I'm playing durant and thunder and he's lighting me up will CPU auto double? Auto double a mismatch in the post of lebron was posting Tony Parker? Or will they realize how to play steph curry on pnr as opposed to Andre miller? Will this all be the same vs a user with the defensive settings set to auto?
If the user flips his "AI Coach Adjustments" setting to AUTO, then he will get the same adjustments as if it were the CPU. There will be ZERO double teams for the user if the setting is on Manual.
