The only difficulty here is that it might not work for people who play absolute-- but maybe it's not that bad if we enter the realm of context sensitive pro-stick modes. I think pro-stick directional passing functions on relative even on absolute settings. But it may be confusing for pro-stick to function in absolute but in relative when sandwiched in a P&R configuration where a throw backwards from the player is an escape step back but it normally is down. I guess having it mapped to a throw upwards in absolute in a pick and roll would make sense but it takes the precision directional control aspect out of things.

I do consider it pretty important given the progressively smarter AI defense, and it's one of the solutions my favorite player uses to counter what the league and this game now throws at him.

There are ways to beat full court presses. That's why NBA teams don't always do it

and on top of that they can tune things in the online game in updates
I'll second this. Not worried at all about "fullcourt cheese". I think it is in place simply to slow down a ball handle and I think the team at 2K have enough awareness to know the risks of such a mechanic and not implement if it's an easy exploit (based on the rest of this blog and the fact OG is behind it)..... my opinion.

I really love that the defense has been overhauled..I just hope theres a sense of "balance" in gameplay...

this may be the first year that the defensive options maybe more advanced than the offense.

Have to agree on that there might be some epic defensive struggles going on which is going to be a good thing. I have a feeling the defense will be creating T.O.'s but if you know how to swing the ball and play to the strengths of your team you will be ok. I think this will be the first time in a long time where the BBall IQ and stick skills will be on par with the what you can get away with on offense.

I have a feeling online will be on 2K11 level probably even better.

This might be a stupid question but.... Why is everyone so excited for the Jordan rules? Plus how will they be implemented if Jordan isn't on court? Are they excited for the bulls pistons 90s re-enactment?

For those wondering, full court press or extending pressure is FAR from cheese. IMO it's more of risk this year. Delly and Patrick Bev are also PG's who come off the bench. Delly's full court pressure behavior only ties to him with his Cavs team.

Just the other day I tried to play Delly most of the game with him pressuring the ball and I noticed his shooting take a significant hit.

IMO, I don't think it's beneficial to your or I to put too much time into full court presses or zone defenses. Online players should use them as a change of pace and not think they are getting a Jim Boeheim 2-3.

When I used a 2-3 zone defense, I noticed that a lot of times guys would be out of place and I had to manually put them back. Will that be fixed? I also noticed that a big would post up one of my wings while I'm still in the zone and get stuck in the post animation while another offensive player gets the ball and nails a 3 while the defender is stuck in the post, is that fixed?

The engineer that I work with is a BIG sim head. He's one of the dopest in the industry! He's probably scanning these forum as well. Don't expect any patch to change our philosophy. If you play on the lower levels you can success.

If a user is going for 30 a night, great! I know he's earning every bit of it. It's not going to hurt my feelings. I just want you and I to have a great and authentic experience.

Like I've stated 100 times already... I'm really happy with how far we got in a year. We still have a LONG WAY TO GO to where we want to be. That's the scary part..

You and your team are the Michael Jordan of developers, GOAT! Love the always room for improvement mindset and philosophy even in a year where you all are so proud of the game. Speaks volumes for your passion, drive, and dedication for NBA 2K. We are all the beneficiaries. .

There was not a lot done to the zone defenses this year, fam. We did some adjustment because teams like Dallas will be able to go from man to 2-3 on the first pass. Expect "some" improvements to your issues but some will still up as well. Don't plan to stay in a 2-3 for a significant amount of time versus a good player and win. NBA teams don't do it and you shouldn't either(I'm not assuming you do btw).

Thanks for given us additional feed back OG, just curious how the difficult setting are going to affect the gameplay this year, is there a setting where a lot of these features truly kick in, do we have to play on allstar above before we truly see the beauty in the game ?

Its very scary if you guys have more in mind you want to do. IMO this is the kind of stuff that makes 2k....2K!

I'm sure you also finally discussed not gimping the game via patch as a team so im fully confident this years game will beast!

Hope you guys can hurry and get some rest.

Somebody call September 24th and tell it to HURRY!

That's a tough one. There's adjustments at every level but I recommend playing on all star sim or superstar sim. That's most authentic experience you can get IMO.

Sounds like I need to adjust defensively then, last year I could play 2-3 the entire game. I don't know what's going to stop me from playing 2K16 this year, truly amazing what you guys do and we're greatful for it.

being a Wizards fan, that's John Wall size up into his jumpshot is right on the money

It's getting to the stage where I have to really think about where the game can go. 2K15 felt amazing with the way animations and user control blended, but I woulnt say the AI felt 'smart'. If this AI intelligence comes as advertised, that's amazing.

I hope the 2K devs have considered whether this AI will become self-aware and lead to a Skynet judgement day scenario.

I've got 10 years of work we could do. It's all about priorities. We have the talent in the building, that's for sure. I'm really excited on how this has been received and what's to come.
