I think thats okay as long as its not always EVERYBODY having mad success against correct defensive assignments executed well.

Anyway man I'm happy with this as a first implementation and it will only get better. This is akin to when tendencies were first added to 2K. Us Inside drive fans were screaming for it because we knew the impact it could make and Mike Wang came over from the ID team and we started seeing the impact immediately but it continued to evolve over time.

I like that 2k is taking risks too by not going all in for cheesers just for youtube hits and popularity because this is the kind of thing here that started it all anyway.

I think the core base fans and even the angry ones from long ago have wanted to see the foundation fortified like this for some time.

Just so happens its more than we expected at one time so far.
Yeah in the SimHangout Czar said he asked for it to the engineers but he wasn't optimistic it could get done.

So it's not case closed, but not looking good for this year.

And yes, of course, in context, it doesn't at all diminish all they did get implemented into the game this year.

I can bet its more complicated than just telling the system, take this here, and do it over here in a couple of lines of code.

I dont play online but honestly there is nothing bad about having defense in the game. Its been a long time coming

There are ways to beat full court presses. That's why NBA teams don't always do it

and on top of that they can tune things in the online game in updates

At the 4 second mark. Look how quick Curry is off the dribble, how realistic the steps he's taking look, look at that contact animation with the shoulder and the elbow when he turns the corner. Beautiful.

My favorite is how the off ball movement of the cpu players. They look more alive to me than them going through the motion.

God if 2k got the sound right me, 23 and a bunch of sound hounds would be in pure bliss.

Well I heard the same old dunk sound in one of the clips so, not very optimistic about that.

Which clip had sound?

Here's one where they combined Czars clips with OG.

By the way, if someone is being pressured...wouldn't you give up the rock to nearby teammates, and call for picks. this really shows me that some people don't know sims style basketball.
Yeah passing or rather great passing can kill a press but im not sure if your teammates stay near in this situation...maybe so

Also call a timeout lol

... Last year you couldn't call for a pick backcourt, but it would be nice if that was in..but a guy being over aggressive on defense can definitely be hurt if he's not paying attention to picks and passes

Oh god I had the volume off....can't they at least lower the sound a bit when the ball hits the rim?

I'm going to say that this is an early build. Optimism! If not it's another thread about sound.....cripes didn't OS write about this to? [emoji36]

I wrote about it January of 2014

OS just recently did when I mentioned to Steve, but too late in the cycle man

I don't think those sounds have been touched at all. It's like a dinosaur at this point that needs to change

Once you change the look, feel and sound of 2k then you have a completely new game.

They've changed about 2 of 3 so far.

I hope you are correct but even offline has a lot of casuals who youtube vine and twich... we'll see if 2K can stand strong with sim-insiders strong.

Scott OG said in the SimNation Hangout that fatigue will play more of an important roll this year and that those full court pressing will become tired faster. This is one of the first low hanging cheese fruits I'd suspected they looked at because it is so obvious everyone will try it immediately.

# 356 23 @ 09/05/15 06:29 PM
I like the use of screens in the back court though myself and anti press offense.

A team should be punished for overdoing it besides just getting tired

I'm going straight for the best defender in teamup every time

I was reminded of the old push ahead dribble so turbo seemed a possible choice. I agree that the timing should be important so I kind of envisioned that it would be a squeeze of the turbo at the right moment like a dribble launch, rather than holding it down and barreling through.

Someone smashing down the turbo will never get it, which is fine by me, but there's no reason it can't also be tied to the pro-stick as a throw between the defenders.

Now THAT sounds like a concept I can get behind.
