Yep, we also made some adjustments because Hibbert is obviously no longer there. Their camp noted some changes and we made them. Things could change though. With PG back at full strength I think you're going to see more pressure out top.

I know your the defense guy, but I'm trying to find out what are consequences when playing on the defensive side.

Thanks man.

I would only recommend using this feature in particular cases (side, corners) because the offense has plenty of blow by options. We didn't get enough time to show you those in the videos, see it as a risk, as it should be.

OG, in offscreens, does the defensive player have the same animations as the offensive player while running? in the video that you showed the defensive player made a shorter route pursuing the offensive player because of the lack of that animation.

I hope you are. And I hope others at VC are aware too.

We really like the way you as a dev team are kinda sorta partnering with the sim community. Some of us are knuckleheads all the time, some of us are on and off knuckleheads, some of us are OCD about one or two things. . . but overall, there's a solid base of sim gamers who are stunned and stoked by what you guys have attempted this year.

We may not always be the loudest or most persistent with positive feedback, but we're here.

Anyway, I hope y'all are feeling good, really good, about that. And even if there are some larger hiccups that need to be fixed after day 1, what I'm saying here still stands. We're in this with you.
No doubt! I love this dev team and their passion for not just their game but real basketball and finding a way to replicate that into the game we love! Like I said before I can't imagine where this game will be by 2k20. I'm ecstatic with everything I've read! It's like a wish list thread but it's all in the game now. I made a blog 3 years ago of stuff is like to see in the game moving forward, I even gave it to the devs when I went to 2k as rob jones asked me for it. Everything on that list has been crossed off. Pretty crazy! I'm not saying I had anything to do with it but the best part is the guys on this team love basketball and this game and short time ago they were 1 of us. Czar, OG, leftos, and beds. It's like a OS dream team mixed with guys like sim baller, Beluba, and rob jones who are like the original 92 dream team! There vision is like ours and their work ethic to make the most simulation game possible is awesome! We can't say that with other games. We are so lucky and fortunate to have guys like this who listen and interact with us as well.

Hence all the positive feedback! And they say this is just the groundwork of a 4-5 year plan?! Good lord! I mean just allowing us as users the options to edit and give us every slider we need as well as any option to adjust to our version of sim is almost unprecedented. Some give us basic options but these guys make almost everything customizable and editable to fit our own sim standards. What more could we want?

As a basketball coach for 16 years I love the aspect of playing another coach who has his team executing X's and O's and playing a chess game with strategy and matchups. This is things doc and pop do on a nightly basis and now we can do the same in a video game. It's incredible! I know the time it takes to scout, watch videos, patterns, strategies til 3am in the morning and can't imagine how much these guys probably did in overtime at home researching and still working late nights online til 3am in the morning for us to make sure we get authentic offensive and defensive strategies and plays into this game.

All I can say over and over again is wow and thank you! I've never been this impressed and excited for a game before! I feel like a 5 year old at Xmas where I can't get this game soon enough! I hope they feel the love and appreciation from me as well as all of us here at OS! These guys get it and we appreciate everything they did and do so we can enjoy this game for 364 days! And these blogs (every one of them) were well written and the ultimate hype machine! A million times better than you tube videos in years past. Hearing from real aim heads like these guys and their transparency on what's in and not in is refreshing!

Hats off to you OG...can't wait to get my hands on the game.

Thanks man, apologies for not explaining it in better detail. Hopefully I can do so over the live streams during launch.

Yep, as you can see in the videos, when you engage with the offensive player, he will continue to stay squared to the basket in his triple threat position.

It's good to hear that man Now if only I could play that way with my beloved Lakers I'll be over the moon. Is it possible to install this type of pnr defense in MyLeague with Lakers since they have one and a half decent defenders on their team and this would be most efficient since Hibbert is GOAT at rim protecting.

You explained during podcast the advantages to controlling an elite guy like tony allen but with a below average perimeter defender is their an disadvantage?

Speeds are all relative to the rating. A bad defender will have no tell and much harder to hit the window to stop offensive player. I wouldn't crowd with Jimmer.

Have full court traps and presses and the cpu's use of them been updated?

They've always played too close to the offensive player and when used by the cpu resulted in 'blow bys' and easy buckets.

Alright thanks. I wasn't sure that you could do this before. That always annoyed me that I could get my 4 & 5 to set screens for me.

Does this or I guess I could says how does this affect the ability to get tip steals on passes on the perimeter? On bad passes such as passing across the court which is like a bball 101 No-no

Not much went into half court traps and presses this year. You will see some improvement, but it's not much.

I think it's vastly improved. Off ball guys across the board are much better when it comes to being on their "man-ball" line.

That works for me. I know you couldn't make it too cheesy so as long as I have a chance im good. I just think the AI was able to do things defensively in the past the user couldn't so if it's evened out more then great.

I also noticed in that clip with Dwight and Anthony Davis that Ant contested the shot with both hands, the right on the pump then blocked it with the left.... is that a coincidence?

# 478 vannwolfhawk @ 09/07/15 01:32 AM
Anything done about close outs? Didn't I read ball speed was sped up which is great IMO and needed with swinging the ball as you could never really get a great look in the corner making the extra pass due to incredibly fast and unrealistic close out speeds. The defender would usually be faster than the pass. Or even players not having the ability to blow past defenders running and closing out at full speed and then stopping on a dime to recover. Was this looked at at all?

# 479 MarkWilliam @ 09/07/15 01:34 AM
With some of the newer mechanics with defenders, is it more achievable to replicate a Westbrook pull up in transition game? (edit: I mean, in your opinion OG - this COULD be an opinionated question in some peoples eyes).

IRL defenders shuffle back profusely just to account for his speed and then he often pulls up from 18-20 feet out in transition/semi transition.

Very hard to replicate to date. It's all hinged on where the on ball defender decides to "plant" and then the "sucked in" animations kick in.

And again, thank you for your hard work OG. AMAZING job.

Thanks For the Answer. I'm Looking for good (real life) numbers.LOL.

One more thing. I'm not a coder but i don't think that this is difficult to do. DO we have different types of referee ? I mean, in each game we are presented with the trio and the foul calling on the game flows according with them. The dynamic is different in each game.
Some guys treat the superstar "better", others let the game flows to a certain point.
