There's a lot that I like this year in Madden 16, unfortunately, that's all moot with the current frame rate issues.

If this does not solve the issue, uninstall all game data and the game from your HD. Turn your console off and unplug it to clear the cache. Boot it back up and re-install all data.
This should fix the frame rate issues you are seeing.
Does anyone have any advice or pointers on playing with the DLine? With Harrison/Richardson/Wilkerson I expected to get a bit of pressure, but I can barely get into the backfield.
Is there a certain way to beat the OL this year compared to years past?
Thanks

I will try uninstalling all game data and unplugging the console this evening and report back. Thanks!

I primarily play CFM, but “Draft Champions” seems like something I’ll spend a lot of nights playing too. Especially those nights when you want to play, but don’t know who / how / what you want to play as.
I was pretty optimistic heading into M16 as far as game play thanks to E3 / users providing videos, and I feel like it hasn’t disappointed. There are some AI decisions I don’t understand. Most of them are play calling late / time outs not being used.
I enjoy that player ratings matter, but they’re not too over powering. My favorite team has always been Seattle, and the last few years of Madden haven’t been the most fun to play as them because games were not all that fun to play, unless I tweaked sliders so much that average Joe’s could burn Sherm, and Shawn could get tackled by a 160lb corner with 42TKL.
The play ball mechanic has been so much fun, because it’s not a catch, by me or the CPU, every time. It is fun seeing a WR catch the ball, and the DB hit it out, or vice versa. It’s finally fun to have one-on-one on the outsides and throw the fade or back shoulder. They feel so much more organic, and they tie perfectly into the WR/DB mechanics. It looks like a game you’d see on TV, and that’s before you account for the sweet graphics and post play cut angles… which are pretty ‘baller’.
I’ve yet to dive into CFM too much while I wait for the patch, and obviously we have equipment / uniform issues that we all know we shouldn’t… But as far as on field play, I’m digging this years edition.

Just went to play my 2nd Franchise game and rechecked settings. Defensive Holding slider is not saving. No matter what I set it to when I go back in it is reset back to 50. Anyone else?

Now back to impressions before Millennium puts the hammer down on me for going off topic. ;-)
So as to not derail, my impressions:
-I enjoy the new passing mechanics. I find that throwing to a pass to a WR and using the Possession modifier works very well, especially throwing into the endzone. The WR will get down fast to avoid getting hit and generally does a good job of securing the catch. This mechanic also seems to work well when throwing to the flats and sidelines.
-The RAC modifier works well when throwing slants and crosses obviously and keeps the WR running in stride to get up field.
-In regards to the Aggressive Catch mechanic, I was using New England and was trying this to Gronk mainly and didn't feel that it was too overpowered. The defenders did a good job of covering it and I found that the WR-DB interactions seemed fluid and I wasn't able to abuse it. I only had a pass tipped up high once in three games and it happened organically.
-The throw high/low modifiers both seem to work fine to me as well. I always wanted the ability to throw low to WRs, especially in the endzone and these modifiers allow you to place the ball away from defenders.
-I wasn't a big fan of the Touch Pass modifier, mainly because it requires you to double tap the receiver's icon and I'm still getting used to that. You're supposed to use this modifier when throwing into zone coverage to get it over the underneath coverage, but in front of the deep coverage. It worked well in training, but I need more time using this.
-I ran 3 games vs. the CPU and 2 of them came down to the last drive and I actually lost both those games; 1 was Andrew Luck hitting Hilton deep for a 50 yard TD with 8 seconds left. I've never had the CPU beat me like that and to be honest, I was happy to see that from the CPU. I didn't see too much of Robo QB and they do stick with the running game. In previous years, I would find that the CPU would never establish the run. In 2016, the CPU is able to gain yards and gain 1st downs which is welcome.
-There are finally penalties being called. Mainly offensive and defensive holding. I'm fine with it as we often see plays get brought back all the time because of holding in the NFL.
-Overall, the game feels polished, the animations seem fluid and the game is quite enjoyable. This is from a couch co-op and CFM user though. I've found that playing vs. randoms online tends to deteriorate my experience with Madden as more exploits are used and the sim experience is diminished.

Some of the hits on the WRs when they go up for aggressive catch have me saying OOOOOOOOOOOOOO weeeeeee. Get your timing down and you can deliver Ronnie Lott and Steve Atwater type of hits on WRs trying to catch the ball. I once hit a WR in his legs from behind when he jumped and he did a 180 flip dropping the ball.
I do wish we had more control over high tackles and leg tackles. We should be able to decide what we want. As it is now the only way to get leg tackles is to start off from further away and hope the ball carrier don't juke out of the way. But when you do land one, it is a pretty sight to see. I up ended Blount like that when he was coming through the hole. And when you hit stick a smaller player with a much bigger player, that animation is nasty.
Also love the fact much stronger players can carry smaller players on their back for a few additional yards and you see the smaller player holding on for dear life on the bigger player's back.

My first game was fun...won 28-21. Second game was a frustrating one...lost 48-14 but that wasn't the frustrating thing. That Matchup stick screen was staying on the screen even if I didn't want it to come on the screen. So it wouldn't let me make any presnap adjustments.

Just won a draft champions game where the CPU decided to play Colt McCoy over Joe Flacco.

Playing with an undisciplined team is VERY challenging. I was playing with the Cardinals against the Raiders and the Raiders were blowing me out 27 to 0 by halftime because of all my defensive penalties. 5 offsides, 4 were due to that offside bug though. Happened 4 times in a row too. Then I had 7 defensive holding penalties.
I was loving it and hating it at the same time. I kept thinking to myself my goodness Cardinals you guys really lack discipline. Add to that, none of my DBs could hang with Amari Cooper, he was killing me, along with their other WR. Patrick Peterson was getting torched every passing play. Add to that, the Raiders new running back DeMarco Murray was running wild.
It was the worst butt kicking I ever took by the CPU in Madden. Ratings really matter and when your team don't match up well, lord have mercy. Might as well hold on for dear life because you about to be taken for a ride. Woodson had Fitzgerald on lockdown, he couldn't catch anything. And Floyd kept dropping passes. I couldn't run because Mack and the other Raiders LB shut that down.
Truly all around humbling experience.

I just keep having great games. Coming from an online guy who plays every sports game online, EA did an awesome job with the AI this year. Even though Ive never played cfm (due to hating playing the AI) it might be my mode of choice this year once the bugs are fixed

This game is actually pretty good. I have been a Madden guy since Madden 96, and this one easily creates the best games. The only issues that I have our the goal glitches, but those are getting fixed. My quarterback was 19 of 23 in the first half with 3 td passes and no ints. For some reason when he came out at halftime all of his pass accuracy ratings were at 60. It was a 21-17 games. I lost 45-21 because he could not complete a pass. Ended the day 21 of 73 with 7 interceptions. Not a common stat-line for Aaron Rodgers.

Also, everyone with Twitter should be tweeting rex to not mess with qb accuracy. I tweeted him this morning. And if you are an h2h type of guy, tweet him about taking away options befote we start a game.

Picked up game today been playing a couple of hours now.
Best thing I have seen is cpu vs cpu Buccs vs Browns totally amazing. The game is beautiful in this format. The game is so realistic in this mode how on earth have they not put this is CFM? I would love literally love to play as a owner in this mode it is magnetic EA
I cannot get over how good this game looks in this mode truly fabulous. Come on now this is the future for owner mode EA surely it cannot be difficult to do.
Will start a CFM when patches drop as advised by Rex and then will have to play auto pass and lock to HB so my QB does run occasionally. It does not look anywhere near as good as the broadcast cpu vs cpu view tho imo.
Really enjoying game on the whole well as stated a few times the cpu vs cpu mode. Thinking who to watch next Raiders vs Titans appeals.
