Again, I'm so impressed with this all.

Question for 2k: For us simheads, has their ever been talk of including year to year saves? Is this something that can be anticipated for a future release?

Thank you!

The hype is real!

You’ll be creating both a Home and Away uniform for your team.
Anyway we can get that number expanded? Home, Away & Alternate? Or just make it unlimited lol

Is this available for off line?

I didn't look through all 53 pages and I'm guessing I know the answer, but can you play on the same team for MyLeague Online?

I've really grown to be a huge fan of having a franchise that runs concurrently with the actual season. I've been doing it in my MLB the Show season (link in sig), and it's been great.

I'd probably still have a quick sim that I'd casually play, but to have a carryover style league with y2y saves would allow for some immersive online leagues, if not just solo leagues.

As much as I love my sport text sims, this would be the first game to begin putting those games to rest and replacing them with their graphical counterparts with y2y saves (Sierra Front Page Sports Football was close). MLB the Show has it, but is light years behind OOTP in terms of simulation and depth.

In hindsight, I don't think I did a good job of eloquently explaining why MyLEAGUE Online is what it is, and how it came to be in 2K16.

About 5 years ago, I made a strong push to management to give me the resources to provide a fully featured online franchise mode, which later came to be known as The Association: Online. Ambitious, and by-and-large, it worked. Sure, there were some quirks or design decisions that people didn't like (e.g. the moving window of advancement). Once that project was complete, my team and I moved on to other areas of the game. Having watched Online Leagues in NBA 2K14 and NBA 2K15 falter (for lack of a better word), I went back to management very early this year and told them I would be taking over the online league experience once again. This wasn't up for debate. To be fair, the people at VC that worked on this mode the last two years did a very admirable job, they just didn't have the experienced resources needed to deliver the proper experience you guys were craving. Those guys were hungry this year to right the ship. I loved seeing it.

For NBA 2K16, we combined our resource pools, which gave us the opportunity for me to allocate some of my more specialized and experienced engineers on this project. One such engineer, Brad, spent the majority of his year coming up with a completely new server-based architecture that is the heart and soul of NBA 2K16's MyLEAGUE Online feature.

This brings me to my main point for writing this. I've seen a few mentions (and about 12 of the same post from ataman (oh snap!)) and assumptions of this being the same mode as last year with potentially x and y feature added. This really couldn't be further from the truth. This is a completely new experience built with an all-new backend driving it. Gosh knows it won't be 100% perfect (though we certainly hope it is), but you do have my word that we will give you 110% until it is. We'll work through anything that comes up. Heck, Leftos won't sleep until issues are resolved. Brad is the same way. You guys got the 'A' team supporting you at this point; these are some of the brightest guys in the industry.

I played last year's Online Leagues pretty heavily. MyLEAGUE Online isn't last year's leagues. It may not have the offseason you covet, but it does contain the features that make MyLEAGUE such a special experience. You will be able to (and I can't believe some of these weren't there last year, sorry):

Make Rotational adjustments
Implement Gameplans (and everything that comes with that)
Utilize custom playbooks
Adjust gameplay sliders (at the admin level)
Adjust MyLEAGUE-specific sliders like Trade Negotiation Difficulty (at the admin level)
Custom Roster support
Control everything as an admin (trade approval, force winners, force losers, reset games, etc. etc. etc.)

I see people mention things like, "did they fix the bug about being able to rejoin the league once you leave?" To that, I say no. No, we didn't because this an entirely new experience. That bug never existed in this experience. Unfortunately, time IS a factor when you release an annual title. It's not an excuse I use, because it is my problem, not yours. You want (and deserve) the universe. That being said, I'm tremendously proud of the people who managed to create an all-new online league foundation (that will serve us well as new features are added) while simultaneously making what I think is probably the biggest single year jump in our franchise in a long time.

Lastly, I truly appreciate the discussion taking place within this thread regarding MyLEAGUE Online. I'm not one to shy away from a solid discussion or get my feelings hurt because someone doesn't like the way something isn't done. While this is business, this is my passion. This is the same for Leftos, Dave Z, Brad, and everyone else that played a major part in these modes. We WANT to hear your thoughts on what we're adding (or not adding if the case may be).

At the end of the day, if it's not abundantly clear even after reading the "Little Things" section of my blog post...We've got your best interests at heart. Enjoy the mode(s) this year.
SimBaller, the best the is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. You are the man, Woooo!

Will we able to to change teams in the middle of our league?

Love automation feature for 30 team control. I have one question. If you control one team in MyLeague can you switch to another at anytime??? In other words if i use the player lock feature and he gets traded or sign to another team can I switch to other team if i choose only one team to control???

Hasn't Mitchell & Ness been loosely affiliated with 2K for a few years now? Or at least in & out? One way or another, 2K's really rounded out their retro jersey options over the years (unless some got lost on the switch over to next gen). I used to be jealous of NBA Live's retro jersey choices (seemed like they had every jersey possible in 2005) but 2K's made some great strides there.

Still wouldn't mind seeing the Sunblast Suns jerseys (besides the black alternate) and the pre-'95-'96 Sonics.

This is how you do franchise mode.

Speaking of team relocation, does anyone have the website with all the made up teams? I remember seeing it and it had a bunch of jerseys, arenas and color schemes.

Read the blog but did not read all the pages (on here) but I just got a couple of questions for anyone that may have more info, myleague offline specific:

1) I know we can relocate teams but can we just change the jerseys (color, logo) anytime we want or do we have to do a relocation of the team to access this feature? I want to control all 30 teams but change jerseys every so often with specific teams every couple of years without moving the teams. Also, I wonder will the CPU relocate and change jerseys on its on.

2) does anyone know which features we will be able to control on the 30 team control? For example, my biggest gripe with the 30 team control is that you don't see any trades because it's like you are trading with yourself. Hopefully, there is a feature in that allows teams to trade among each other. The only thing I want to control on 30 team league is the rotations.

3) can we determine whic direction we want each team to be? ( rebuilding, contender,etc...) especially if we are doing 30 team control? Or is it an algorithm of some sort. It will be cool if we can change either before the season starts or anytime we want.

4) I know they got all his new and updated sim cast stuff but PLEASE if anyone knows.... Did they bring back coach mode?? Like years before?

I love the direction 2k is going. If they got these things in the game, this will bring up the replay value from season to season for me (myleague) It's hard for me to play after 2 seasons because it gets stale, but if they address these things my wife may be mad at me lol

I mean no offense at all to anyone arguing it, but anyone arguing that customization doesn't impact sales it flat out crazy.

I'll take a shot at some of this.

1. I asked this question earlier. Czar answered that he was able to make a new jersey for a team he played, so the answer appears to be yes.

2. The blog says you can automate activities for teams you choose to manage, so it's probable that you can delegate trades to the CPU.

3. The automation options for additional team control have not been spelled out, so we don't know yet.

4. More or less, it appears that the answer is yes, if the Simcast Live function does it for you. It does not appear, at least to me from the description, that you can operate as a coach in full CPU v CPU gameplay, though, but I'm not sure.

I'm right there with you man. It's not in this year but I have faith that 2K will get it (along with the NBDL) in eventually. I really do. This year I'm just gonna run a separate Euro MyLeague (hopefully we can edit number of teams down) and run it alongside my NBA one. I'm gonna put all the good NBA prospects in free agency and give them year long injuries for a few years to simulate them being in Europe. Then remove them and assign them to NBA teams. At the same time I will remove them from my Euro MyLeague.

There are a lot of automation options this year. Like, a lot, and yes, trades are one of them.

It has been mentioned that you can rebrand without relocating. CPU teams won't relocate of their own volition this year, we wanted to get the user experience right, and it was A LOT of work as you can see by how huge the part of the diary on relocation/customization is.

Team state is determined based on algorithms that have had a lot of work put into. Roster makeup and team success are only some of the parts that play into it. A team that gambles building a certain roster and sees the first half of the season ending on an 8-33 record might realize that whatever it did just didn't work, and that it's time for a change. This is just one example. It's not based on triggers nor is it as black and white as it might originally seem.

I do not believe Coach Mode is available without using SimCast Live, but trust me, you'll love using it.

A few more little things that might not have been clear:
- If you use the Position Settings menu to lock to a player instead of a position, the game will automatically sim to the next time you're on the court if you get subbed out. (Why did you get subbed out? Were you running out of bounds again? Sigh. You never learn.)
- I don't know if it was clear from Erick's diary, but Training this year has sliders for each attribute rather than having to select a single area of focus per category. So you don't have to mark the 3PT Shooting checkbox on Fundamentals and worry that other areas of the player might not be getting enough training and regressing. This year you can go into Fundamentals and adjust the 3PT shooting attribute sliders up while sacrificing from _specific attributes_ that you don't care as much about, or from each attribute equally. Each category (Physical, Tactical, Fundamental) has its own attributes that add up to 100% with 0.5% slider precision, so you get, let's say, 200 ticks/points per category to spread out however you want. Player Type-guided training makes a return of course, for those not as knowledgeable or that can't spend that much time tweaking every slider. So if you want your Pass First PG to train towards becoming a Defensive PG, you can of course just choose that. But if you know exactly which attributes you want to see developed, you can just up their sliders a bit, and take away just enough from the rest.

Now that the online part has moved to another thread (thanks 23!) and we're able to maybe ask some follow up questions to the OP, I'd like to bring back around a couple of questions I had that got drowned out yesterday:

1. Offseason: can we make trades all through the off season, including after the draft, during summer league, etc. or will we be limited to a tight window just before and during the draft again?

2. FA Signing Logic: has the decision logic for the FA's been changed at all? Specifically, have the following two issues been addressed. . . 1) players (especially young unproven ones) unrealistically unwilling to sign for minimum and 2) stars who remain unsigned going into the season, then signing for MLE or league minimum with CPU teams? The core problem in both cases seems to me to be that FA's get hard coded to sign for salary ranges determined by their 3 motivation ratings (play for winner, loyalty, financial security) within a set range determined by age, overall rating and potential rating. League experience/performance are not factors, nor is the given FA market for a given year (ex. FA glut at one position driving down available cash to spend).

Thanks! Great, great work this year.
