NBA 2K15 News Post

NBA 2K15 patch #4 has been released for PlayStation 4 and PC users. It is not available yet for Xbox One users. The patch primarily addresses the shoe issues in the game, more specifically in MyCAREER mode. You can see the workaround here.

After you download it, let us know what you are seeing. Once 2K releases the patch notes, we will update this post.

UPDATE: (via @Ronnie2K) Another thing addressed last night was fix to deal w/ rare occurrences that led to NBA 2K15 MyPARK rep being stuck. Should no longer happen.

I'm impressed with 2k. They released a 4th patch after I personally said I didn't think they would. Based on how close we are to the next 2K. Hopefully this addresses the step backs & side to sides/hesitations moves at the park.

But regardless of whatever new issues this patch may bring. I can't complain because at least this shows they are really trying. And they might actually care about us after all lol...

Kudos to 2K for a 4th patch.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

I honestly feel like the latest patch improves gameplay and makes the game better. But the community is MISERABLE.

It's a bunch of people apparently more interested in finding glitches and exploits to take advantage of then actually playing BASKETBALL. I just don't get it. My brain honestly HURTS trying to understand what exactly goes thru the mind of someone who plays a game like this only to take advantage of every little glitch and exploit in an effort to win a meaningless video game against a complete stranger.

Just look at the results of this patch...in no more than a few days, these cheesers have already found ways to ABUSE the game and some of its flaws. It just gets old...

And I'm not buying the "it's little kids" argument anymore. Because many of the worst offenders I play are anything but "kids". They are grown-*** men who apparently have nothing better to do than find stupid exploits and troll people like myself who just want to play an honest game of video game basketball.

Some of it falls on 2K...but there is only so much they can do.

As far as that goes, I still fail to understand WHY they can't find a way to segregate gamers who have different ways of playing the game.

Exactly why can't there be Online Ranked Games with two choices - ****** and Hardcore? This is such a simple solution that would allow ****** players to match up with ****** players at a lower difficulty level and also allow Sim players to match up with other Sim players at a higher difficulty level.

No extra server load, just don't match up players with differing outlooks on HOW to play the game. It's just makes sense.

The other thing they need to take a look at is the entire concept of "TURBO" and how it is used in the game. The way the mechanics of it are used now is so ARCADE that it cripples the game. It's just an overpowered weapon that begs to be abused.

There has to be a better way...either building momentum into the game so that you have to use it to get to full speed...or maybe incorporating something like a "Burst" button or modifier that is more of a short-term thing, instead of the current feature that just makes basketball players look like they are HOCKEY players skating around on ICE when it is overused.
I agree.

But change 2k community to "the entire world" lol

It's never gonna stop. Human see. Human do.

Yeah I see it like this your level of shooting sliders will depend on how many perfect releases you can get.

There are four variables

1. How many "perfect" greens you get which is a stick skill part. If you get a lot of green's shooting will be easy. So you will have to do more to lower your ratings

2. How well you are at defending shots

3. How well the CPU defends your shots

4. How many plays you run/style of play

I was just thinking...has anyone thought that the change to shooting percentages and number of green releases was to compensate for the broken jumpers in this game? Being an online Pacers users, I was basically doomed to poor offensive games no matter how well I knew release points and how often I created open shots, because I couldn't get a green release to save my life. Some of you who are complaining about easy shooting were already using maxed out my career players, powerhouse online teams, and My Team which are basically teams of all-star players.

Some teams were unusable in online ranked games due broken shot releases. I spent hours upon hours in the practice mode trying to learn the releases of players, and the player that I use the most for open jumpers is Rudez and Scola. That's a damn shame and crime that I have to rely on bench players to take the final shot just because they're easier to use.

Personally, if this patch allows me to use George Hill, Stuckey, Watson, and Copeland as my 3PT threats and David West's pick and pop game (as it should be) PLUS give me better tools to play defense, then I'm all for this patch.

Real talk, the other game has this same "problem" of "easy" shooting, but I'm having fun though. I can play strong defense while making my opponent pay for lazy defense with open jumpers or a methodical offensive game. I want to do the same in this game like I did in NBA 2K11 for online ranked games.

I play with the kings. My friend gets "greenies" on almost every shot with the Suns. I get right on the mark but never seem to get green. Kings have a few really good 3 shooters too. I only play with the Kings but I think from my experience green shots are dependant more on team unfortunately

I have never thought a jumper was broken because a green releasecouldn't be achieved. 2k needs to seriously remove this green stuff its messing with out minds. Jason terry and kj McDaniels are only rockets to get a green release on HOF level and I still beat down people in ranked games

You are partially right. They increased the open % and they fixed all the glitched shots If you combine both of these you should shoot better because you will see more perfect releases than you would have before, especially if you run plays and play to the strength of your team. They really overcompensated on shooting giving players a field goal percentage that they don't even shoot.

All the users who were having competitive games against the CPU at say SS/Sim are basically coming back and saying SS/Sim is too easy from what I read as far as shooting. I have heard people say they now have to guard players they didn't have to before because of the new open bonus.

I already knew shooting would be easier once they fixed the glitch shots because I was able to do that on my own by fixing shots in the roster prior to 2K fixing the shots after this patch. So all the people that play SS/Sim will have to adjust sliders offline to find a competitive balance offline against the CPU or go to Real FG% or try HOF sim

I have never ever been a real FG% player but that might have to be an option for me.

The patch has totally ruined my career for me, some of the problems existed pre patch but now it's even worse. The cpu plays by a completely different set of physics laws to your player. Its just so unrealistic and just...bad. The cpu intercepts far too many passes, they make way too many contested shots, they move WAY quicker than you even with far lower attributes, telepathically move in total unison on defence, they get charging calls even when they are blatantly arriving late, cpu escapes animations at will while user is locked in, user gets magnetised into screens and thrown all over the court, doesn't feel like youre in control most of the time ..it's just feels awful to play. This is just my career where you can't edit sliders mind you. Other modes have their own problems...

I had the charging down pretty good before this last patch, and while the Computer will take charges, I cant buy 1 now since the patch. Definitely frustrating, to have everything about right with sliders, only to have the patch mess it up, IMO the game was great before this last patch.

Looks like you misread my post... This was the most important part: "I can't defend anyone anymore online." Posting my record right before/after the patch was meant as a way of providing context. I'll admit i could've worded it better though, blame it on english being my 3rd language. So to be clear my problem is with attempting to play on ball defense. Maybe it's just me but i feel like i have even less control over my players' movements than before the patch.

Also, i'm not buying that it didn't change 3 point success and from reading most of the posts here it seems like i'm not the only one. I don't mind it that much though, my problem is my newfound inability to play on ball defense. Something i've never had much of a problem with in previous years. I felt it did become more difficult in the ps4 versions 2k14 and 15, as opposed to any game up until 2k14 on ps3, but still i could manage just fine. However now, after the patch, i find myself sliding all over the court.

Basically, in short, i'm not judging the patch on me winning/losing, i'm judging it on the defensive changes. Again, maybe it's just me, maybe i just happened to start sucking at the game out of the blue after 10 years at the exact same time i downloaded the patch but this is my impression. And as requested in op --> "After you download it, let us know what you are seeing." so here we are. I noticed i couldn't defend anyone anymore online so i let them know. If i could explain why i can't defend anymore i would but i can't quite put my finger on it, other than i'm sliding all over the place.

I don't understand why it's so hard to have the movement controls as crisp and responsive as in 2k13. If i'm going left and push right, go right. Don't keep going left for half a second, stop and then SLOWLY start going right.

It will be worth it if he trades it to the right game, like MLB 15 or whatever version is coming out this month.

Is there a chance the patch will be released on PC or is the patch console only? Still waiting for my NBA 2K15 to be updated on Steam, but nothing.

It's already out on PC, we got it the same day as PS4. It's significantly smaller though, about 90 megs.

It sells for $30 on ebay. I just bought it for $20 on Craigslist (really a steal, only because I drove to him).

I was just making fun of it. Giving your game to someone else to sell is the lazy way. If you sell your own games, phones, or other items you always make 3x more, even after ebay takes fees, or even after gas on craigslist, etc.

You just gotta be proactive enough to actually put something in the mail with an address, send someone tracking info, and actually care (So you get good feedback)

Green releases means, for me anyways, that I'm getting the full effect of the assigned rating, and I learned the correct release. I don't like the fact that no matter how often I shoot and how well I know the releases, certain players can't be an offensive threat for me. At the minimum, my highest 3PT shooters should be able to keep the defense honest. I don't like the fact that I'm more than likely to shoot with Rudez who shouldn't be that prominent in my offense.

As the game stands, I don't trust certain players to shoot even when they're wide open. A open Hill or Stuckey should be a no brainer shot attempt, but it's not. It kinda defeats the purpose of creating wide open shots if I'm hesitant to shoot once I get it.
