I've seen threes hit the back iron but that's the only variety to the three besides the swish.

Would like to see the accidental banker every couple of games or so, and also some that hit the front iron, bounce to the backboard and in, or ones that roll in (and out!). Just have to add the animation and let them trigger every now and again.

With threes being as they are, what it means is the shots are basically scripted. Now, don't jump on me for saying gameplay is scripted. I'm not going that far. I'm just saying that the ball isn't exactly live. It's already pre-determined to go in as soon as the shot is released.

There's no other factor that contributes to a shot doing the several other animations like it coming off the finger tips differently, or the ball drifting slightly to the right or left because pressure changes the shot slightly or the player is leaning a certain direction or the shot clock is winding down.

Those things and more affect shot attempts.

I finally decided to return my game today, will buy again in the next couple of months if they do some serious updates. EA is on to something, though they have a long ways to go IMHO. I love the gameplay of Live, outside of the animations, though the game needs some serious TLC when it comes to customization, and allowing you to play the game they way you want to. My final straw was playing against the Jazz with the Bucks and leading by almost 30 before halftime on SuperStar Setting, the Jazz were essentially non existent. The Spurs play great ball in this game, the only team to put up a serious challenge in a lot of ways. Will be back later on if the situation improves. In closing, this game has some serious potential and ultimately with a lot of work, dedication and commitment from the development team could ultimately become the Live that we all grew up playing, many, many years ago.

Currently the Pistons are the worst 3pt shooting team in the NBA.

So if I play against them and play sound D, they should not hit more than 5 or 6 tops.

Detroit -per game
3pm 4.7 3pa 21.3 3pt. % .219
I'll do the same thing and post my results.

From what I've experienced, manually contesting definitely brings the shooting percentages down inside and outside the paint. I've also noticed that putting your body on the players trying to finish inside creates more misses. I kind of bump them as they're going up. Whoever was saying they are beasting the CPU on Superstar, they have a point. I've been rolling the CPU lately. Although, LUT games seem harder. I was playing one of the challenges that was rookle difficulty, and they hung pretty tough.

I've often wondered was the settings off in this game, seems like the AI put up a better game on the lower AI than they often did on SuperStar level.

Well, here's my playtest against the Pistons:

Just finished, it was back and forth til the fourth quarter, then I broke away from them pretty hard core.

The game was actually really fun, Jennings broke out some spin gathers on layups, Monroe and Drummond both did some post animations that I hadn't seen yet. I busted out an alley oop from Waiters to Lebron from 1 step inside of half court. I had another possession that I blocked a layup attempt, they gathered it, went back up and Love swatted it out towards the 3 point line, Meeks picked it up and fired a desperation 3 which of course clanked. It was good team defense. A LOT of fun.

Lastly, I heard some new commentary coming through. I had a dunk that Van Gundy said "MY OH MY... We'll definitely be seeing that one on SportsCenter's Top 10". It was pretty sick.

I saw a LOT of mid range j's by them too.

Also, this is probably my favorite thing that I saw during the game.

Monroe was in foul trouble, I broke down Jennings, and drove, and instead of jumping to contest the jumper, he stood with his arms up.

Played against Detroit, Superstar, 12 minute quarters, Foul Sliders at 100.

Detroit shot 40%, 6/15 from 3-point range. Most of the 3s came from Kyle Singler and DJ Augustin.

The Pistons dumped the ball into the post on most possessions.

Most disheartening was some of the moves by Monroe and Drummond. They are good players but they hit every shot imaginable. It became cheese at some point. You just knew when they touched it, they'd score.

Seems like Synergy will allow some players to score regardless of how poor the shot is just to keep in line with the player averages.

At one point, Monroe shot a fadeaway that bounced off the shot clock and rolled in.

I was cool with the 3 point shooting because the majority of the ones they sank were wide open because of my slow help defense. I've seen much, much worse playing earlier.

That being said, it was a very fun game. I guess pick your poison.

I've been saying for a week now that Synergy causes players to make their season stats no matter what. I don't think it is a good idea only to rely on Synergy. Nothing can replace the human touch and hands on tweaking. Leave it completely up to a machine and you end up with some unnatural stuff.

How do you call timeout?

So really ratings don't seem to matter much?

I followed just about everyone one of those updated ratings threads and I was excited to see them but it appears SOME ratings aren't really driving gameplay it's all about Synergy from one game to the next.

Maybe that's why they stopped all editing this year....it wouldn't have mattered what we did with the ratings.

Maybe the ratings are just being used to set the overall(s) for each team...

Hopefully they can find away to make ratings factor into the game along with synergy later

I don't think it causes players to make their season stats.

I definitely believe it gives certain players a boost (an unrealistic boost) if they're playing well and a drop off if they're not.

Like no matter how good the defense is...they'll hit the shot. Or no matter how wide open they are...they'll miss a shot.

I think it's more percentage-focused than number-focused.

And if that's the case...they need to ease up off the human shot timing and tune it in their next patch.

How do I not get called for so many shooting fouls?

Having fun nonetheless

Have you tried Pro Level with the no switch rule defensively meaning you only control one defender at all times?

Allow your AI teammates to handle their own defensive assignments and utilize Ratings for shooting instead of human skillset?

That's just a suggestion but ido realize without sliders it could be tough on any level to get the desired results or challenge your looking for in the game.

So I restarted Dynasty, chose the Dallas Mavericks like I originally planned on.

Want to say thanks to whoever said to make the game play on Ratings only for shooting and FT.

My games have been much more balanced as is my team scoring.

A lot more enjoyable.

I play 12 min quarters with accelerated clock and my scores are in the low 80s high 90s.

Fun Game.

Also, watching this Cavs vs Blazers game, I've seen constant hook shots, contact shots going in at an alarming rate, swishes for basically every make, pick n roll based gameplay, posting for Kaman/Lopez even when Lillard, Aldridge etc are in.

Game is looking exactly like Live 15.

Kaman came from the 3 pt line unnoticed for the rebound and offensive put back. If that would have happened in game, I would have raged, haha.
