NBA 2K15 News Post

We recently had a chance to interview Rob Jones, Sr. Producer Visual Concepts and Erick Boenisch, Sr. Producer, Visual Concepts to talk about a new mode for NBA 2K15 called MyLEAGUE, exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Before we get into the interview, here is a quick rundown on some of the options. In a nutshell, it’s the Association Mode that we all know and loved on old-gen consoles, on steroids.

MyLEAGUE offers both a single season or up to an 80 year franchise experience. You will have complete control over every aspect of how your league plays out.

Oyeah. Any news in this topic regarding D-league of summer league? Dont have the time to read 55 pages sorry
Nothing about D-League or Summer League, BUT it's possible it can be added in if it's not in already.

The new injury system sounds really cool and it's what people have wished for from sports games for years. If I was a bigger NBA fan, I'd be really excited about all of this right now.

Yeah I think that's what has me most intrigued. Hopefully it works well and other sports games start doing similar things with injuries.

I hate using "smh", but when I see people saying "Oh so they just readded the gamemode that was removed, GOOD JOB 2K ...NOT" I shake my head.
Leftos don't listen to the non sense brother. The people that see the work put into this mode appreciate everything you guys have done and know that you of all people understand the heart beat of the OS community. I simply ask that you guys find a way to have manual injuries placed in this mode.

For someone new to 2k, what is the difference between association and my GM. Who do you control in association? Normally in career modes you act as coach or GM and play games, is that the same in this mode?

# 488 turty11 @ 08/08/14 02:15 PM
in association you are essentially the commisioner, owner, gm, and coach

in myGM you are the GM only, can only control your team, and you have to complete owner goals or get fired...it also is entirely built on VC

Thank god, I'll never have to play MyGM ever again.

I like the customizable (re)additions but am more intrigued by what hasn't been announced yet. So far, I don't think there will be too much of a noticeable change from what Association Mode was on Xbox360 and PS3. Sure, the injuries addition add realism and the game planning is nice but on a grand scale, they won't be game-changers.

And I think the developers know this. I'm expecting big things to come out of Association (or whatever MyName it's being called now). The hinted-at scouting/drafting change is tops on my list. What should be one of the most important aspects of a decade-long journey (the influx of new talent) has been almost ignored since the inception of 2K basketball. I would absolutely love to see a scouting process that you can't do in just a few minutes (or less) but rather one that takes careful consideration throughout the year....especially if you are a lotto team. I'd love to see news on the wiretap throughout the NBA season about prospects that are killing it in college. Things like this add to the immersion that an Association mode should have.

As someone who plays offline and on Association Mode 99% of the time, I'm really glad this year they're actually paying attention to a mode in need of a facelift.

Your boy Leftos has been busy.
I'm not a huge NBA guy but having these options to set up a league like I want = A sale for the simple reasoning of showing when a developer makes strides and listens to gamers, it will never hurt them.

Since I'm a perfectionist when it comes to real life transactions in my association and I only play friends head to head online, this is the perfect game mode for me. Usually I would wait until all the trades and releases took place before I started any kind of a season or association mode because I wanted my league to be as close to the real thing as possible. Now with this new MyLeage, I can make real time transactions as the season progresses and don't have to worry about the CPU making ridiculous roster moves and unrealistic rotations. Now if someone can tell me 2K has brought back my playoff mode that I couldn't enjoy for these past playoffs, I will literally go out immediately and pre-order this game. (Something I haven't done in a very long time)

Oh man, there's so much in that interview to be excited about. One of the smaller things that has me super excited is the AI-AI Trade Approval... now I won't have to make every trade on my own to make sure nothing crazy goes down, and it'll give me a chance to look at what the AI is thinking and potentially see some trades I wouldn't have thought of go down.

I just made the jump to PS4 and wasn't planning on buying 2K with all the negative stuff that went on with the first next-gen game, but this has me completely 180-ing. I couldn't be more excited.

I started a new MyLEAGUE earlier today, in the 8th season now. The number of 90+ players in the league in year 8 is the same number as in year 1. Anyone who has a history with our game knows how great that is.

I've seen a few questions about setting injuries manually. That isn't something we support in the game right now. If you guys need it, I'll see if we can add it before ship. No promises, so don't hold it against me if it doesn't make it!

You can trade picks up to 3 years in advance now (instead of 1).

Really, this mode is for you guys. Once you get it, I want to hear what you like, what you don't like, and what you think is missing.
Oh my

Did you not read the interview, or at least the first few pages of this thread? Yes, association mode has been reimplemented, but there are so many additions to the mode. Literally, if you wanted control over "X" aspect of the league/mode, now you have it! Even ignoring the things they've added, there are so many ways to customize every little aspect of the mode (trade difficulty, contract negotiation difficulty and non-financial player interests therein, etc) that it is completely crazy and ignorant to say "this is just the old association mode added back in".

People need to either improve their reading comprehension skills or learn to appreciate drastic changes/inclusions such as MyLEAGUE.

# 495 trig @ 08/08/14 03:27 PM
I hope we can put specific injuries to players during the season. Say edit Paul George and put in to missed

Read (or at least skim) the interview. Yes, you have control over the salary cap

will CPU vs CPU be in MyLeague?

Again, read the interview. You can play or watch any game in MyLEAGUE.

Awesome 2k knows how to put back stuff that were fan favorites, hope some "Other" Companies learn the same thing from something like this.

It doesn't say you can watch the games. It says you can 'play' all games you want. So question remains unanswered.

If we can’t control every team, can we at least play other teams games?
You can control every team. You can also play games of teams that you do not have control over. Again, we’ve created MyLEAGUE so that you control how you want to play.
