The RG3 and McNabb were clearly CGI, nobody is disputing that. That Kap screen is clearly gameplay. It may be enhanced, but it's not CGI.

It says "actual game footage", which likely meant that it was using the Madden engine with enhanced graphics. This is common in video game trailers, which is why you will see the distinction between "gameplay" and "in-engine" in many videos.

The RG3 screenshot above is also from a different video altogether - the Ignite Engine trailer that EA even came out and said was pre-rendered.

meh.

as is always the case, i'm just gonna wait until the game comes out before i get worked up.

there's so much they need to do and so much they can still announce, I'll reserve judgement, but I'm not too excited.

Some of the animations did look a lot better, but as is always the case, how frequently will we see the same ones and how many good animations are hidden/lost due to awful coding?

Watching the live E3 press event right now ...

...and I must say...it actually *DOES* look quite like the Kapernick pic. Player jerseys seemed very detailed, wrinkled.

I think as long as the footage was actually from PS4 (or xone), then this game is going to look great and definite upgrade over last year's version. Again, that is, as long as the footage wasn't pulled from a high-end PC ...

Yup, you can see the level of detail change between replay and the angle you're controlling the action but they both look pretty nice. A lot to like in that preview.

Graphics look a lot better, but the sidelines still look like they're from 2006. I don't think this tackling cone thing was needed, I actually like the tackling system. This biggest thing that needs improvement, is the way DB's and WR's go after the ball in mid-air. It's terrible. And another thing that is bad, is when you throw a bad pass and a CB is wide open, and the fall just falls right out of his hand. I'd rather throw an INT then have a CB drop the easiest catch ever. Improve the passing system, and then the way the DBs/WRs catch the ball should improve themselves with a little tweaking. Madden always does this, improve small things that no one really cares about and then ends up being left out in next years game. Yes, new camera angles were needed, but that shouldn't be a major new feature in the first real year of a Next-Gen game.

Why is Cam so dark this year, when his skin color was correct before? He looks like Willie Beamon.
