MLB 14 The Show News Post

MLB 14 The Show will be available as a Day 1 digital download at 12:01 AM EST on May 6th. (SEE UPDATES BELOW) Similar to how users were able to download the PS3 version, expect it to be available at that time, give or take a few minutes.

It doesn't appear as though you will be able to pre-download, as some hoped with the latest PlayStation update. VG24/7 noted Watch Dogs will be the first game available for pre-download, releasing on May 27th.

UPDATE: As of 10:30 AM EST, the game is still not available to download.

UPDATE #2: Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store. All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We’ll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE #3: Based off of the many responses, the download should be available for everyone now.

I'll echo what some others have said: yes, Sony should have had it up at 12:01. But no, it's really not that big of a deal. People need to either wait it out or do something about it.

As frustrating as I am to you, it's similarly frustrating to me to see people repeat the same "I'M SO MAD" mantra as if that's going to get things up any sooner. If you're mad, do something about it. If you want to be dramatic and sue Sony over your $59.99, go ahead! Otherwise, the whining is completely pointless.
Here is an idea, if the thread annoys you with the "whining", stay out of it. What do you think you will accomplish by further poking people, who are already annoyed? His post was spot on, what you're doing is trolling at this point.

Not even close to guaranteed.. Im not saying no one will get it but a lot won't.. Been down this road with sony it's very rare they approve the refund.

Anyone who prepaid for this download has a right to be unhappy and dissatisfied, especially those who specifically took time away from work today to play the game and not can not play it. This was clearly a major screw up by the PSN people. But these are first world problems you are dealing with. As I drove to work this morning thinking about myself rushing out at lunch to pick up the CD for this game and thinking about all you peeps who failed to download the game last night, I had to remind myself that I better pay attention to the road and not get into an accident. If something bad like that was to happen, I would easily forget about this game.

So people have the right to be dissatisfied today (I am sure some heads are rolling at PSN and I sure as heck would not want to be the person(s) who messed up). But let's not forget, this is only a game. Soon we will all be playing the game and hopefully the PSN peeps will learn a lesson from this.

Why do I get the sense this is going to turn into a Day 2 or Day 3 Digital Download?

I'm on the phone with some mouthbreathing idiot with Sony right now and respectfully and politely asked for a refund. He emphatically told me that they were working on the issue and no refund could be given at this time. This ain't my 1st rodeo and I know how to treat people when taking to them on the phone so I wasn't some irate ******* mouthing off profanities.

I can say though over the past 10 hours I have not seen 1 refund request denied. Just my luck that I get the one guy who wants to exacerbate the situation by not issuing the refund. I've now been waiting for a supervisor for going on 30 minutes.

I took today off work and could easily run 5 minutes down the street to pick up a hard copy, but won't do that until I can get verification through Sony that a refund has been issued.

What a load of crap.

I can tell you this.. Trolling is against ToS and your last few posts make it seem you are trolling. No one wants to hear it and you just upset people more who took the day off to play it, etc.

Golden rule, if it's not going to contribute. Keep quiet about it, regardless how their posts make you feel.

Actually I am, since I am leaving for work now. Keep on fighting fire, with gasoline though, it is a brilliant strategy. Your posts have been so productive to this point.

I think your chances of getting a refund in a situation where;

1) They haven't delivered the product.

2) Didn't hold up their end of the bargain
Are pretty good as you don't even have the game yet! If I was in this situation, I'd be on the horn with Sony right now getting my refund, even if it would take 3-5 days to get back on my card.

I also don't have a clue why someone would preorder a digital game like it's going to sell out or something, which also makes me side-eye many of the angry posters in this thread.
I've got a bad feeling this won't be resolved in time to have the game downloaded by this evening. And from what I've read, I'm not confident that refunds will be honored either. So aside from shelling out another $60 for a hard copy with no guaranteed refund from PSN, there's nothing left to do.

But if you have other ideas, the suggestion box is wide open.

Refunds go to the PSN Wallet, not your card.

I had one refund for NBA 2K14 on the PS4, and another because my digital purchase of The Show on the PS3 would not install after 6 tries.

I could be wrong, but I think a refund to your card MIGHT be harder to pull off.

The 5PST is a standard answer as well. Thats when the PS Store updates. But it is usually done well before that.

You won't be getting a refund if the game comes out today. I'm about 99% positive about this.

What a load of crap.

The CS reps (unless there doing there normal sales final rant ) don't decide the fate of your refund. they just open the cases and the claim gets sent to another dept who in return will email you with a decision. Once the game actaully becomes available it gonna be even harder to get it approved .

After the launch you would have hope that Sony would have had it's sh#t together when it came to downloads. I guess not. If another baseball game that was close to as good as The Show I would jump ship. Hell, bring back MVP Baseball with updated rosters. Never again will I buy a download (still waiting Sony)

Why are you guys suddenly assuming worst possible case scenarios? It seems perfectly logical that this will be resolved when they update the store, which according to previous posts happens between 1-4pm est on Tuesdays.

If it's not resolved by 4pm I might start to worry.

I'm actually shocked they haven't got it up yet. Definitely thought it was going to be a lengthy download, but I thought I'd be able to start that download last night, so I'm pretty frustrated. Plus I'm busy the next couple days so this was my good chance to really play it. I'm also pretty tempted to go buy a physical copy, but I don't want to risk not getting a refund.
I wish the people in this thread would stop being so immature though... this is a video game (by far my favorite game, but I'm not going to freak out about a little delay) and in the long run this won't matter

# 1138 EPatetta @ 05/06/14 12:01 PM
I'm just going to figure it'll be up when the store updates later this afternoon. Hopefully it'll auto download while I'm at work and I can play shortly after I get home tonight.

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Forum Fiend v1.2.6.

So you wouldn't buy the Show bc Sony is having a problem with their store? You know it doesn't have anything to do with the developers of the show right?

# 1140 crash331 @ 05/06/14 12:03 PM
I register just to post on this.

I just called Sony and they put in a refund and gave me a case #. Said it would take 7 days. They are sneaky, watch out. The rep didn't speak english well and at first she tried to say she would refund the money to the psn wallet instead of my card. I'll pick it up at my local store on the way home.
