PS Nation - MLB 14 The Show Hands-On Report (PS3/PS4)

There's a lot to digest folks, so here's my first article for MLB 14 The Show this year. Included is over 1,300 words, a video interview with Ramone Russell, Release Dates, and the new PS3 trailer.

I had hands-on with PS3 and (briefly) PS4, with additional time on both with Ramone. The Vita version was not onsite, but in terms of features, beside the smaller amount of Presentation (as always on Vita) the game is feature-complete across all 3 platforms.

Unless the PS3 version has individual grass blades, ball boys, facial hairs, redone lighting, and 3D walls all around the stadium, everything we've seen has to be from the PS4 version (with the exception of the trailer and the PS3/Vita game cases).

I think the ps4 player models are extremely disappointing as they are right now.

They look like the ps3 models with better hair and beards. The jerseys still look way too baggy, the sleeves on the jersey are way to long. Idk it just doesn't look like ps4 graphics.

Hopefully these are early builds, work in progress whatever, and the player models and jerseys will look a lot better when the ps4 version comes out

I've seen the game run, so don't base an opinion on screenshots, seriously. The amount of detail on the players on PS4 is staggering.

Well that's good to know but honestly the way those jerseys look,

I thought we'd see some unbuttoned jerseys and the jerseys look real, like different part of it moving and stuff like that, right now they look stiff and look like they remain in one place as a whole.

I know some of you are going to say they are just screenshots, but it does look at that way

I think you should reread how this transpired.
You've got things a bit jumbled today.

I realize the pressure and angst of hearing the crushing life news of a May release date may be too much to handle.....but deep breaths might help.

Obviously not since it's coming out in May. That's why I'm getting annoyed with people making "final judgments" on the PS4 version. It's not done yet peeps.

I fell asleep for a second and had a nightmare where the entire Red Sox team shaved their beards (probably for some charity fundraiser or something) and started the season bare. OS exploded due to the traffic demanding new models be patched into the game. All that hard work hand drawing those beards, wasted.

I really hope the scripts on jerseys have sheen (dazzle) material. Its hard to tell from the screens but it doesnt look like it. Stuff like that would really help the jerseys.

NBA2k does that material so well (even on ps3).
