MLB 14 The Show News Post

There's a lot to digest folks, so here's my first article for MLB 14 The Show this year. Included is over 1,300 words, a video interview with Ramone Russell, Release Dates, and the new PS3 trailer.

I had hands-on with PS3 and (briefly) PS4, with additional time on both with Ramone. The Vita version was not onsite, but in terms of features, beside the smaller amount of Presentation (as always on Vita) the game is feature-complete across all 3 platforms.

I have no problem with them pushing back the release date. Waiting longer to get the bugs out and have a better product is a great move. They have a reputation they have built up over the years and can be ruined with one release. This is a problem for ncaa football every year they would rush product to the shelves and hope you could patch any big bugs that come up. Glad to see mlb the show not doing that!

Thank you nemesis! I just got a PS3 again after not having one for a year and a half. I was wondering if I should by 13 or wait until 14 comes out. I'll definitely wait. I really appreciate it.

Bummed that May is the date, but as others have noted, I'd rather wait for a quality release than get an unpolished, buggy game 2 months earlier. Besides, I'm an Xbox 360 refugee. I've literally been waiting a decade for a good baseball game. What's a few more months?

Breathe. Life will go on. We'll have The Show no later than May.

I want to know more about the " Player Lock "

My plan is to play a lot on PS3/Vita, then transfer everything to PS4 when it hits.
Plus you can carry over your franchise and road to the show to next year. You are not really at a time crunch to get your full value out of the game per se.

I figured there were some slight graphical tweaks from 13 to 14 even on the PS3 format. Thanks!

No, as in from MLB 14 to MLB 15. Not MLB 14 on PS3 to PS4, which you can do as well.

"This year's The Show will also introduce year-to-year saves, meaning your 2014 save data for Franchise mode and Road to the Show will carry over to future games."

Most buy the game every year anyway. Now we have the added perk of carrying over all our progress. It really is a great feature.

Not sure where you are coming from Debbie?

This question might have already been answered if so I apologize.

Will online franchise saves be able to be carried over to MLB 15? I know the regular offline saves will, but what about the online ones?

Did I miss anything that has been reported?

I know more is to come, just curious about everything so far. I know not a lot has been mentioned about RTTS. You guys that ent to the community day, is there more coming? Just a yes or no if the NDA allows.

April 1st to May is one month.. 2 months maximum.

(This is an assumption, don't quote me on this) Like every other game on the PS4 with a delayed release, there will be the upgrade fee of $10 if you just buy the Ps3 version, so why not do that? All data will transfer it seems.

The ignore feature is a wonderful thing.

Unfortunately it doesn't work when the posts keep getting quoted.

Has anyone seen/heard info on save files being able to skip a year? Say I decide not to buy MLB The Show 15, can I take my '14 saves and go directly to '16, or will I have to rent/borrow a copy of '15 to transfer my '14 saves, and then from '15 to '16?

Pretty sure I covered this.

It works both in moving from MLB 14 to MLB 15, and it works visa cloud saves across all 3 version within MLB 14.

Again, I covered this in the article:

"If you stay with the PS3 version this year, and wait until MLB 15 The Show to upgrade to PS4, that save will transfer as well."

What about the Vita?

(that is, Vita '14 to PS4 '15)
