Off the top of my head, when playing at night I believe and just generally during game-play at times while running the ball I think and replays. Feels like framerate drops at times. i think someone else on here said the same thing. Also these are during play now games.

I caved..

Being in Rob's league made me decided to pick it up.

Excellent choice. This is by FAR the best Madden game since PS2 days.

Played two online games

1) First, It is BUTTER online, so damn smooth.

2) Gameplay is vastly improved, I love the new running.

3) They added the clock back to online pausing. I can see when they unpause finally.

4) The menus are super quick, no more laggy menus or pre-snap adjustment menus, THANK GOD.

Overall, I am super happy going forward, good job EA, you fixed some good complaints.

I'm really trying to decide if I want to get this game. The positive reviews are really making me want to. I'm just really intrigued by it. I traded in a ton of old games today at Best Buy and got $105.50 total. I then bought FIFA and NBA 2k for PS4. So basically I spent 23 dollars out of my pocket today. That's the only thing justifying me purchasing Madden. I'm afraid if I get hooked on 2k or FIFA though that I may not play Madden very much.

I will say this man:

When the first video released, I bashed it so bad, talked how bad it looked and how embarrassed I would be if I was EA..

I eat my words, and eat them hard. This game is different, in all the good ways. Lot of issues were addressed and I am just loving it.

See I'm probably not as hardcore of a Madden or football guy as you, but I would most definitely agree with you on the first videos. It looked identical to current gen. It's pretty unfair to do when nobody had played the game yet, but honestly we've come to expect it from Madden. Once I started reading all of the impressions I was absolutely in shock. I traded in the current gen version about 3 weeks ago after only playing 3 games or so. I just got bored with it. I can't pick out the little details of football that are wrong with this game, but I could see the bigger problems.

I think I will pick this up though. The fact that there really isn't any features missing that were on the current gen version is a huge plus. I love the Owner Mode they put in the game as well. Ya there's problems but that's with any career or franchise mode in all sports games. I just like that they brought that mode back from the PS2 days. If the gameplay is solid I can definitely see me playing the game even though I don't enjoy football as much as I use to. Is there a demo for this? I don't get my PS4 until tomorrow. The one from Amazon that I got on Monday was of course broken.

So here's my problem, I've had the game since launch day and have yet to open it. I feel like I've seen this movie too many times. The games drops, and we're all in the honeymoon phase with it, then after a while, the usual complaints begin to surface. I want nothing more than to enjoy this game, but once I break that plastics, that's it.

For you guys that have a logged a good number of games now, what's your overall view of the game in terms of getting getting bored with it sooner than later? Like a previous poster, I too have 2k and BF4, and I just wonder if the game will be fun enough to play it continuously after playing those 2 titles which look more next gen. Look forward to guys comments.

I borrowed this game from a friend to try and determine if I liked it and wanted to go ahead and make the purchase. I did not like '13 and didn't play it for very long.

Madden 25 is at first fun to play. But like last year the gameplay seems to bog it down and it gets really frustrating trying to get the sliders to where the gamplay is somewhat realistic.

For instance, I find the amount of user sacks very unrealistic. Not sacks by my user controlled player, just players on my team. No matter what one sets the cpu pass block slider at it makes no difference. I am confident this slider does not work at all.

Secondly, the amount of interceptions in this game is just out of control. I did some testing and this is my connected career franchise, may play differently in "play now", but with the int slider at 4 for both teams, I get 6 to 7 ints a game with my defense and the cpu defense was nearly as bad. Again, I'm not controlling the dbs who intercept, they just do it on their own.

I then decided to test this slider at 100 thinking it could not get any worse and found this setting to be realistic, believe it or not. Played two games with this setting and saw one int in each game, total. This slider is possibly reversed? Would be interested to see what others think.

I like the running game for the user and as far as my offense is concerned I have no complaints. CPU on the other hand has some issues. I find that the computer does not run the ball enough although I have found some sliders that makes them somewhat successful when they do.

Graphics are better than on current gen but not by a whole lot. Animations are OK but some could use some work.

Jury is still out for me if I will go ahead and buy, I do like the game but do not like the frustration involved when trying to get the game to play a somewhat realistic game of football.

I just wanted to chime in and say that they must have tweaked the challenge system.

I had a catch on the sideline that was called in bounds but when I looked at the replay one foot was barley out. The Pats challenged it and it was reversed.

Also had a booth review on a catch the cpu made that was called out, but then correctly was reversed.

Will there be a impression thread for Xbox One Madden?

This game is pure evil.

I dunno how many times i've seen 66.6% passing at the end of games.

Im liking it so far. My only gripe, like many other people's, is the INT's. Dear God there are so many!
I may try the slider at 100 like an above poster to see if it corrects.
Other than that, i am enjoying this way more than i did current gen 25.

Old Madden player here, and I am really enjoying the game. The game play literally feels so much better. You will never understand the comment unless you actually play it. You feel the hits in next gen and the momentum physics are totally different than in cg. That can detract some players, and it will need to be tweaked. One poster pointed out that a Darren Sproles type player should have more agility and momentum control than other players, for example, and I agree with that. Still, it's fun trying to anticipate hits and hit holes based on what you know will be affected by weight shift and cuts, etc.

I get the validity of the issues that linger like animations, player models (can't wait until it's true next gen next august) along with the presentation staleness, but the game is still really fun. I had been playing CG on All Madden and was bored. Now I'm playing NG on All Pro, and I'm struggling to quickly read the new agressive and reactive D. That's how it should be when you play a new Madden. Blocking is so much better, and receivers fight for the ball. You're gonna pay with a pick or an under thrown ball if you throw off of your back foot or off balance. I love throwing on the run in this game.

Just played my first online game, and I will again quote another poster...smooth like butter.

One thing I might suggest for those who don't have a next gen system yet. If you're not a hard core madden player, It might be prudent to wait for the spring on the purchase of the system/madden. I can't say that buying next gen system just for Madden 25 right now is the most practical idea, especially if you already have M25 for current gen.

Madden just isn't very good. For the player models to still basically look current gen doesn't make me optimistic.
This is the kind of thing we don't need. Your impressions are great, right up until "IF you are settling for this game..." This is the kind of thing we don't need.

He does have a valid point about the player models though. They look terrible. The jaggies are hideous

Decided to give this year's game a try since I was going to need some variety for PS4 to start. Tried it out for maybe 3/4 of a game and I enjoyed it, was thinking i'd finally enjoy Madden again. Then I finally decided to go back to it again last night for a second try, played a full game and was bored real fast. The game looked and felt like a slightly upgraded version of what I remember the demos playing like (because I still tried the demos each year). Didn't feel Next Gen.

So the Honeymoon phase for me last about 3/4 of a game then I was bored and I seriously doubt i'll bother playing it again. Once you play NBA 2k to me it's almost impossible to go play Madden.

Strange, i bought nba2k and madden as my 2 launch games, and I have only played nba 2k twice. Every time I have enough time to play, I put madden in. NBA2K was a bit overhyped IMO.

Same here, I don't see what so great about the hoop game but I love this Madden.

The running animations have been improved quite a bit but I feel the user should have a little more control of the cuts. NCAA 14 hard cuts are done really well but need to be tamed some, theres a little too much control in that game. Madden need to come somewhere in the middle of where Madden 25 and NCAA 14.

That's fine, but you clearly missed my point.

I am not feeling NBA 2k either. I think technically it's a very good game, I think my waning interest in the NBA in general has more to do with it.

This is a Madden PS4 Impressions thread for those who have the game. Stop putting NBA 2K thoughts in this thread. It's trolling at this point. Thanks.

The dropped passes by the CPU make this game unplayable right now. They have 10 drops at halftime. It's absurd!
