Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)

So here's my problem, I've had the game since launch day and have yet to open it. I feel like I've seen this movie too many times. The games drops, and we're all in the honeymoon phase with it, then after a while, the usual complaints begin to surface. I want nothing more than to enjoy this game, but once I break that plastics, that's it.

For you guys that have a logged a good number of games now, what's your overall view of the game in terms of getting getting bored with it sooner than later? Like a previous poster, I too have 2k and BF4, and I just wonder if the game will be fun enough to play it continuously after playing those 2 titles which look more next gen. Look forward to guys comments.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)

I borrowed this game from a friend to try and determine if I liked it and wanted to go ahead and make the purchase. I did not like '13 and didn't play it for very long.

Madden 25 is at first fun to play. But like last year the gameplay seems to bog it down and it gets really frustrating trying to get the sliders to where the gamplay is somewhat realistic.

For instance, I find the amount of user sacks very unrealistic. Not sacks by my user controlled player, just players on my team. No matter what one sets the cpu pass block slider at it makes no difference. I am confident this slider does not work at all.

Secondly, the amount of interceptions in this game is just out of control. I did some testing and this is my connected career franchise, may play differently in "play now", but with the int slider at 4 for both teams, I get 6 to 7 ints a game with my defense and the cpu defense was nearly as bad. Again, I'm not controlling the dbs who intercept, they just do it on their own.

I then decided to test this slider at 100 thinking it could not get any worse and found this setting to be realistic, believe it or not. Played two games with this setting and saw one int in each game, total. This slider is possibly reversed? Would be interested to see what others think.

I like the running game for the user and as far as my offense is concerned I have no complaints. CPU on the other hand has some issues. I find that the computer does not run the ball enough although I have found some sliders that makes them somewhat successful when they do.

Graphics are better than on current gen but not by a whole lot. Animations are OK but some could use some work.

Jury is still out for me if I will go ahead and buy, I do like the game but do not like the frustration involved when trying to get the game to play a somewhat realistic game of football.

I just wanted to chime in and say that they must have tweaked the challenge system.

I had a catch on the sideline that was called in bounds but when I looked at the replay one foot was barley out. The Pats challenged it and it was reversed.

Also had a booth review on a catch the cpu made that was called out, but then correctly was reversed.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)

Will there be a impression thread for Xbox One Madden?

This game is pure evil.

I dunno how many times i've seen 66.6% passing at the end of games.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)

Im liking it so far. My only gripe, like many other people's, is the INT's. Dear God there are so many!
I may try the slider at 100 like an above poster to see if it corrects.
Other than that, i am enjoying this way more than i did current gen 25.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)

more I play this game the less I enjoy it. Sorry but this game isn't Next Gen. The player models still look like PS3 or 360, they don't look Next Gen. The way they move isn't Next Gen, the contact, the collision detection, the interaction, etc. it's not next gen. It feels like current gen with slightly nicer visuals.

If you own a PS4 or Xbox One and have played NBA 2k, you know what Next Gen should look and feel like. No way does Madden come close to that. They need to really do some work on this game or else it's just going to be the same thing, trying to cover up ugly animations by adding some stupid features with gimmicky names they can put on the box.

Not to be a snob but if people are settling for this and are happy with this kind of product then we can't really be complaining 2-3 years from now when the game is still mediocre and other companies are putting out products like NBA 2k & MLB the Show. Madden just isn't very good. For the player models to still basically look current gen doesn't make me optimistic.
