Best football game by far, true step is a solid addition and graphics are a major improvement. Line play is also improved.

Far too many interceptions in coach mode. I'm searching for ultra safe pass plays.

I only had the first HC for the PC. Didn't have a console back then. And LOVED IT. I would love to have a HC or an in depth text game to be married to madden. Off field depth in madden (lack of) is one thing I really dislike. I would like to see an incredibly in depth franchise mode, owner/gm mode with a realistic progression system. I don't think I'll ever get my dream game, but if Madden can get closer to The Show and NBA2K I'll be happy.

I'm pretty sure I'll get M15, but I'll do the usual and get as many OS member reviews as I can (who have the game and that I trust) before making a decision. But based on what the impressions threads are saying for this M25, I'm more optimistic.
The $10 upgrade was for Xbox One only, however there are some PS4 offers out there. Here is the link: http://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/n...en-offers-sony

If you wanted an upgrade, where is it at? The fans in the stands still look cheesy and fake. The field/grass still look vanilla. I was expected some upgrade. The only upgrade I can see or feel is a slight, very slight upgrade in gameplay and upgraded close-ups after plays. I have two large TVs next to each other and played both at the same time and they look almost the same. I'd pass on this if you already have the PS3 version.
I think the people enjoying it are legitimately enjoying the game, not paid off or anything lol It's not like they're a bunch of new accounts signing up recently that are posting these impressions. The kinds of changes to the gameplay were very possibly significant to the core experience, bringing many fans to finally really appreciate Madden's steps in the right directions in terms of gameplay. I don't know off of hands on experience with this yet because I'm looking to get it for the X1, but I wouldn't assume the people supporting it are artificially inflating the impressions. Besides, if people were approached to offer artificially positive impressions, you'd think that not every one of them would say yes, and those that refused would make a pretty huge thread on OS about it. lol

Actually people are posting reviews and impressions based on many things, one of them being what they like or don't like about the game that is relevant to them and how they play the game and what THEY want out of a football game.

IGN's offical reviewer of the game gave it like a 7.6, but most of his complaints were about how hard the running game feels for now him now. His inability to "cheese" online and he said, and I quote "Madden next gen is almost TOO realistic".. so basically a 7.6 came from a guy who doesn't want to learn how to adjust his old broken style of playing people online to factor in the new improved physics and what not. But still.. the 7.6 for HIM is spot on because he's not that thrilled with the aspects of the game that are important to HIM.

For myself, I'm more than happy to have dropped another 60 bucks to get the next gen version. Since I'm not a big online player, nor do I want to control the action with a controller (I'm a coach mode guy that wants immersion) I personally have to rate next gen madden HIGHER than current gen madden based on some of the things they are doing better in the next gen version that are important to ME in particular.

The consipracy theory about a payoff is just that.. a theory. However I will say that I've seen on other message boards that some gaming companies give perks to like getting a copy early to check it out, inviting them out to the studio, giving them time to do interviews so they have content for their site will completely shut people down if they bash a game in particular too much, simply because if they allow too much of it or more than that game publisher can stomach, magically the all acess passes, early copies and interviews with team members so that site or board has something to talk about goes away.

I would trust the guys here at OS and the people posting here are doing things the right way. OS is unlike almost any other community I have seen which is why I come here before any other board, even for my non sports gaming.

I got draft classes on to my PS4. Any way you guys will enable this? If not, please give us the ability to edit the players in scouting. Just basic stuff like player name, height, weight, college and a bonus would be skin color. A patch for this would be outstanding since originally it was reported it would be supported, the least you could do is let us edit them. Then we can test it for next year since there will be no NCAA Football. Thanks

This would be an awesome idea! EA can keep the story lines but they would just update to the edited player names in the news feed. I'm not a programmer so I'm not sure how difficult this would be but in theory it doesn't seem impossible.

I really hope Madden continues to build instead of recreate this game is actually real fun! A few more overhauls in areas and it will be a very legit football game

I really like the Next Gen version, but I am disappointed in the lighting....disappointed because its awesome but you hardly ever get to see it. Shadows should start to creep across the field regardless of the start time. The lighting never appears to change when you get a 1:00 start.

It a shame, because the lighting is simply gorgeous. When I first got the game, I did a 6:30 start in Oakland and it was jaw dropping. However, during the season, you never see anything like that. In fact, the shadows in Oakland don't display properly during normal game conditions (something is going on with what appears to be three supports and structure that only casts a shadow during kicking plays).

I'd like to see EA change this - not only to showcase it, but shadows creeping over the field adds a ton to atmosphere.

NBA2K series does it, and it was done in past Maddens. I remember editing names of the top 5 players at each position. If they don't do it, honestly they will lose a decent amount of money because people will just update Madden 25 rosters for 2014 and continue making custom draft classes in NCAA. In theory, Madden 25 w/NCAA draft classes could go on for many many years and I would be one with no problem doing that.

I'm a Cowboy fan and I watched a video on youtube Cowboys vs Chiefs. On that video they show Jason Garrett running around yelling showing real emotion. I don't know where they got that from because in real life all Jason does is clap with that smirk on his face. Or stand there with a blank look on his face.

I waited until Sunday to start downloading so I've only played about 4 full games but I was pleasantly surprised and I really like it. Playing against the CPU feels a lot different. Maybe I'm imagining things but it seems like if I really mix up my coverages, do my job as the user controlled player and don't take too many chances I feel like I'm making an impact on defense in a positive way for the first time in awhile as opposed to have no impact or screw up and give up a TD.

I still have turboitis in the running game and keep holding R2 way too often as I did on current gen but the new physics really make me appreciate being patient and waiting to speed burst until I get to a hole or try to turn the corner on a toss. Passing with the QB feels pretty much the same as far as ball trajectory and velocity goes but the way guys run a lot of routes is noticeably different, especially when they cut so the timing is at least a little different from some stuff on current gen.

I was probably more down on this game than most before launch and thought it'd be legitimately bad but I really like it and will be playing a lot more than I did the past few months on 360. I'm actually kind of looking forward to patches for this generation and I'm hoping they put out larger more substantial patches that can really fix AI and some gameplay issues as opposed to a couple blatantly obvious AI mistakes and some stability fixes and CCM glitches. Right now I still think it plays great out of the box and this might actually be my most played PS4 game for awhile.

Am I the only one who hardly notices a difference, graphically between PS3 and PS4 versions?

It really doesn't have that Next Gen Wow Factor that NBA 2k14 has. I really could barely notice any difference at all actually in terms of visuals.

# 275 N51_rob @ 11/19/13 09:36 PM
Because graphically it is a port from PS3, with "cleaner" visuals.

Gotcha... I mean yes it does look cleaner, but I guess I was expecting A LOT more graphically

Yeah unfortunately when just playing with the default camera it's not a huge upgrade from the PS3 version. Definitely better but not exactly night and day. There's a lot of little improvements like the field itself, sidelines and the crowd but the player models could still use a big upgrade.

Is there anyway to dive over the pile at the goal line? Every time I try, the runner just falls/dives forward into somebody's arse.

Hold the precision modifier, then dive.

This is one of the more impressive things I've read here. Have you seen this continue to be the case in CCM when it comes to the Nantz discussing what your quarterback did as you progress through the season?

So check this out.. you at the beginning of a game when a your (or the opposing) QB takes the adfield and the commentators are saying something like "He was a first round selection in 2008, on the filed comes ____insert name____) you would always get the same canned thing about that particular QB... not in next gen.. they actually talk about what he did the week before. I was playing with the Dolphins in a CC and in week 2 rather than them introducing him as the former aggie converted back to his QB position (which they say EVERY TIME in current gen)..the next gen one said..." Coming to lead his team on the field is Ryan Tannehill.. he didnt have that great of a game last week throwing 3 picks, lets see if he can get it done today."

THAT made me smile... they also do it when they introduce the starting offense and defense..they will talk about what they did last week. They still havent got to the point where they talk about individual players during your current game about what they did last week, but these things they are doing are NOT in current gen. I love it.

For me, because I'm a Coach Mode type of guy, Madden next gen was a must buy.. for the ones who gripe about the controls feeling different becauset they play alot of controller and skill based games.. my advice is to just get used to it.. It's actually harder now.. less cheesing (although cheese will always be present)... all in all.. I'm happy with my next gen madden purchase. No, it's not as advanced as that basketball game I bought with my system.. but Madden is on the right track..they are just moving a little slower lol
