The on field upgrades imo, are significant and tangible off the bat. I think they make the game infinitely more enjoyable. The off the field stuff is not, which is why I have stuck with mostly play now stuff. Just not that fired up for CCM or franchise or whatever it's called now.

I really, really wish they would marry the off the field goodies from NFL Head Coach to the on the field strides and graphics in NG Madden.

Presentation still needs a massive upgrade FYI. It's better than CG, replay angles are 10000X better, but still pale in comparison to the Show or FIFA or NBA 2k.
I think this is a fair and extremely accurate breakdown of the game. Pretty much sums it up for anyone on the fence.

What someone can get out of this game solely depends on what kind of "upgrade" they were looking for in the first place.

It's the best Madden I've played in years. I hope they make a big leap in M15

I'm not much of a play now person. I always do franchise in all sports games.

I only had the first HC for the PC. Didn't have a console back then. And LOVED IT. I would love to have a HC or an in depth text game to be married to madden. Off field depth in madden (lack of) is one thing I really dislike. I would like to see an incredibly in depth franchise mode, owner/gm mode with a realistic progression system. I don't think I'll ever get my dream game, but if Madden can get closer to The Show and NBA2K I'll be happy.

I'm pretty sure I'll get M15, but I'll do the usual and get as many OS member reviews as I can (who have the game and that I trust) before making a decision. But based on what the impressions threads are saying for this M25, I'm more optimistic.
I don't think franchise in this years is bad, by any stretch. It's not great either. It's just sort of there. I haven't done any in depth analysis on progression or draft classes or sim stats or anything. I've honestly had more fun playing with the different teams and taking pics and vids.

I may start a new franchise in the future, but I can't decide on a team and prefer the variety of playing with multiple teams.

Maybe I'll run a 30 team franchise or something.

If you get a chance, get the HC 09 for console version. THe off the field stuff for that game was outstanding and should be the standard that the Madden team works towards.

Same here. And I love that we're no longer limited to ea's software to save them. Now we can save actual game play.

I can't say enough about this game. I was nervous at first but man this game is fun.

One moment for example was when I was playing the Bucs as the Panthers. I have never had a pocket where I could step up in and be able to make a play before. But I had a few instances. But the pocket was never the same.

If this game is a stepping stone for what's to come next year, I honestly can't wait! Started up CFM playing with my custom sliders and had a Monday Night Football-worthy game against San Diego using my Texans. Back and forth game with plenty of action. The only turnoff is the dropped passes by the CPU, otherwise it's a great game of football

I will say this though, there are little things I notice that are considerably different than the current gen version. I mean even more than the fluidity of the animations, etc.

So check this out.. you at the beginning of a game when a your (or the opposing) QB takes the field and the commentators are saying something like "He was a first round selection in 2008, on the filed comes ____insert name____) you would always get the same canned thing about that particular QB... not in next gen.. they actually talk about what he did the week before. I was playing with the Dolphins in a CC and in week 2 rather than them introducing him as the former aggie converted back to his QB position (which they say EVERY TIME in current gen)..the next gen one said..." Coming to lead his team on the field is Ryan Tannehill.. he didnt have that great of a game last week throwing 3 picks, lets see if he can get it done today."

THAT made me smile... they also do it when they introduce the starting offense and defense..they will talk about what they did last week. They still havent got to the point where they talk about individual players during your current game about what they did last week, but these things they are doing are NOT in current gen. I love it.

For me, because I'm a Coach Mode type of guy, Madden next gen was a must buy.. for the ones who gripe about the controls feeling different becauset they play alot of controller and skill based games.. my advice is to just get used to it.. It's actually harder now.. less cheesing (although cheese will always be present)... all in all.. I'm happy with my next gen madden purchase. No, it's not as advanced as that basketball game I bought with my system.. but Madden is on the right track..they are just moving a little slower lol

I bought my ps4 today. Picked up nba 2k14 and bf4 almost passed on madden after reading some reviews on here. I will tell you what

I'm glad I did not pass on it. Game is very crisp play actions looks amazing. The fields alot of the texture is nice. I will say this is prob the first madden I have been happy with since 2004/2005 and that is saying something.

I started a quick game with the browns vs the broncos I chose the browns. I litterattly had to punt my first four times due to no pocket and just the broncos d line bullying my o line. It just felt like a new crisper game.

I'm so glad I deciided to ignore some post on here and try it for myself

I'm having problems with the CPU dropping the ball on all-pro with their slider at 60. Any fix for this? Stafford was like 5-30 100yds 15 drops.

P.S using my sliders from old gen that worked great

What is the CPU accuracy?

On the PS3 version, I noticed that sometimes the player skill sliders would automatically and randomly reset to 75 across the board, regardless of what I had the difficulty set at. Now it's doing the same thing on the PS4 version. How do I get the sliders to stick?

I'm guessing this for play now? If so this what you have to do, I got this from Charter04's slider thread:

Quote:
What u do is load my sliders, than change your game setting to all madden. This will reset the sliders to all madden. Then load my player and CPU sliders again. When you go back to settings it will still say all madden but my sliders stay with my adjusted settings.
-If you don't do this you will be using custom and it will actually be All-Pro. You can tell by the kicking meter. The really fast one is the one for All-Madden

I hope I can ask this as I don't have the game, but how are simulated CC stats compared to played games? Are tackles and assisted tackles recorded? Pancake blocks? Broken tackles?

What about the IR...does it free up a roster spot?

How is the off-season in general?

I'm hearing it's a much better game, but I'm a franchise mode guy looking for a good sim that holds up.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy sIII

This may have been mentioned, but how is the "robo QB" in this version? It seemed to still be prevalent in CG. This is one of my biggest issues and would keep me from picking up the NG version.

# 239 MMan @ 11/18/13 10:03 AM
Momentum is frustrating but I think realistic compared to old gen. I can catch and turn up field with EASE on 360 but catching a ball and trying to cut right away is impossible on PS4. Probably a good thing. Pass coverage is improved imo and getting actual cover sacks. Usually QB's can be robo cop in the pocket for 10min and never get sacked on old gen.

Madden 25 on PS4 plays a great game of football. I love the game. It looks better than ever and have no complaints because the game does what it is supposed to do. It is lots of fun. Yes I could pick on things like I wish it had madden IQ which I loved but I tell people to get this game.
