REAL TALK!!!!! It bothers me when people say that posters on OS have ridiculous expectations. What we want has for the most part been done already! Tiburon has had every blueprint they could ever ask for. They really need to swallow their pride, buy a copy of APF, study it, and improve on it. I don't want an NFL version of APF, I want something that will totally dump on it, and that's what Tiburon should want and try to achieve as well.
For sure! This is what they should have done right before they started from scratch on next gen.
I know with these videos, everyone is complaining about the look of the game and some of the animations etc, however within these videos there is one thing that they've done which is pretty impressive; "clipping" and how none of these videos showed people going through each other.
That's pretty impressive actually. there were definitely moments in those play where on the current generation we would experience players clipping through each other. For all of the lack of flair with the visuals, that's one area which looks pretty good.
You need to watch more closely. I've seen it numerous times. My wife even noticed on her own.
Madden has become a new branch of government. They know what the ppl want but they just do what is most convenient because they know the ppl will deal with it regardless because where they gonna go lol not necessarily an attack on the devs our those who work there but am indictment on the higher ups
Ok, seriously, I have no problem with the graphics, they are obviously an upgrade, how big of an upgrade is debatable, but an upgrade is evident. What I do have a big problem with, is the little things that are immersion killers. for example, CK throws the pass in the first part of the sequence, and while the play is happening in replay, who do we see standing on the sidelines? you guessed it, CK. It is simply jarring, it is a previous gen issue, and it has to be fixed
second, please, please, please EA, stop with the ****ing canned cut scenes, huuuuuuge immersion killer. Murray scores a TD, then an instant later the handful of defenders on his *** at the goalline suddenly vanish, and every other player is 60 yards back down field, and on top of that, DM doesn't do that stupid *** dance.
Gameplay must be addressed first, but we aren't the ones shooting our mouths off about Living Worlds interactive/improved sidelines, like it is going to be some great step up, THIS YEAR! stop jerking your customers around!
THIS x 1000! Why even market living worlds when really, it isn't what we are getting. The sideline on that KC gang tackle/cluster *** was IMO NO different than current gen. Living worlds was something I was really pumped about and I know Dickson said they more or less just laid a base down this year with that, but COME ON. If that is the base level it must be underground. They got a lot of work to do to make this game have any sort of "WOW" factor. So tired of being disappointed with this game.
MLB 2k comes to mind when it comes to EA Madden but MLB fans didn't go out and buy the game and bash it they let 2k fall in sales and the series is gone now

Clipping is inevitable with video games though. Ever played the Batman Arkham series? When you defeat the last bad guy in an area the game goes slo-mo and zooms on the final blow, and each time you watch part of Batman disappear into the bad guy and sometimes the surrounding area. You basically have two possibilities with video games, you either have clipping, or floating.
Now it should be minimized, and possibly non-existant in a hype trailer, but it will always exist. As long as the game, in real-time doesn't have absurd clipping, you should be fine. The only time you can really notice clipping in modern games is when you slow it down.

They just went and purchased a Playstation 3 and MLB THE SHOW.

It's why I giggle when people say they will buy a title just to support competition. Apparently, you only support competition when the lesser title is created by EA. Examples: Live, FIFA (3 years ago), Triple Play. Other side: NHL 2K, MLB 2K, Inside Drive, NBA Showtime. The only exception is EA's March Madness. That title was such garbage, even the apologist couldn't support it. The saddest title was APF. If it got just ENOUGH support, I'm sure they would have kept at it. But I give EA credit, for better or worse, they don't give up. I guess in that sense, it's no wonder people TRUST the brand. They will always be there.
Please bring back 2k sports football!!! They have not shown gameplay at all... EA sports does not care about us, I will never buy a madden football game ever again...I have been asking for them to correct the challenges in football and they have yet to listen.. I remember in nfl 2k5 you had three to four options to choose from when you wanted to choose a play, not in this game... I feel sorry for the next gen sports football future, we are going get exactly what we don't want! I say "stop buying this game!!!!"
Hockey's probably the best example. I'm a huge NHL fan and love NHL video games. But lately EA's been going back to an arcade-style game. I want a game where players don't complete 80% of their passes. I want 25% of the game to be battling for the puck along the boards and I want it to be difficult to gain the offensive zone. Basically, I want an NHL simulation. The problem? Not very many people would want to play that.
I get your point, I really do... and I want that too. I think we have to remember though, its a game... a video game. It's not going to be realistic 100% if you want that, go play the game for real. Video games are a business now, have been for quite some time. Theyre alwyas going to do what sells best, whether its EA, or whoever.
That being said... I'm glad I didnt go out and preorder a next next gen system yet. Still not sure which one I want to buy, and figured I'd wait to buy until they were released and the real facts on them each came out post release. Especially since all I really play are sports games. Seeing these M25 PS4/XB1 vids really make me glad I've decided to wait at this point. The visuals are by and far much better, but the game itself seems to be the exact same product.

Looking at some of the articles they were rated as one of the worst companies out there

Those polls are kinda bogus because gamers are vocal and overrepresented on the internet. EA is back to back champions in one of those polls, and will likely three-peat just because they are EA.
I don't mean to be a ***** and everyone is entitles to their opinion and it's your money as well . But come on people I was fooled for 7 or 8 years up until this year and didn't buy the game at all. Now I see what other's were saying about " if you don't like it stop buying it ". I don't like what they have done to my one time favorite thing to do from August till around April or May since 98, so I stopped buying the damn game. I mean look at this crap they are throwing at us and calling it gold. Some of you talk about how much you won't tolerate any more from EA and that if it continues you are going to stop buying the damn game. Then turn around and say if it wasn't for my Online League I would stop crap. If you want anything to change you need to take my advice and stop buying it I did and I'm reading these forums and thinkin man I'm glad I'm not one of those guy's anymore.
I still come on here to read what everyone thinks about the next Gen and try and catch a video that sparks some interest in this game on next Gen for me and it's just not happening. Why I hold out hope I will never know, but I know I won't be buying Madden till it changes and if it never does then I'm glad I like Basketball. Because 2K know's what they are doing over there. You guys should try and get into Bball and play some NBA, 2k looks like the same game on next Gen as well but like 2k does , it's going to be amazing to play.
Stop complaining and watch from the sidelines for awhile like I am. You'll be glad you saved the money in the end and if enough people blow off EA for a bit something is bound to change.
First word that came to mind after seeing this video, Corny. Just like EA sports. Nothing but a corny video. Corny footage, corny commentary, just corny everything. This "exclusive" footage has been cheesy as all hell. Way to bring in the new generation Tiburon, lol. You'd think nothing has changed over there.
Still love the helmet moving detail, and upclose the graphics are gorgeous. Not the player models, but the actual graphics fidelity.
Corny is an understatement. I don't understand why EA is releasing these types of videos. I hope to see some gameplay since the game is coming out in less than 2 weeks.

Sad, just sad. I am really starting to consider whether I should even get this game. NBA 2k14 next-gen sets the standard. I am truly thinking that if something is not measuring up to next gen quality, I will not get it. I may have to just focus on basketball, racing and FIFA (if EA realizes that I need my AI teammates to actually play and not stand around aloof).
Man what's up with that jerky movement McDonald makes after catching the ball and attempting to turn up field, I hope this is not the transition movement from non true step to true step motion, since only the ball carrier can follow this logic. Such ashame only 2 players at a time will follow true step logic but when I'm on offense only 1 WTH
I think the video looked good. It's not on 2k level, but it looked nice. Madden just needs to be more polished and have more features. They just need to improve the presentation.
