Looks good but plays the same so my hype is gone. Guess 2k made their move quick vs nba live. Nba live looks less but hopefully gameplay is refreshing.
Plays the same compared to "looks like it plays the same in a short gameplay video" is not quite the same thing. I'll keep saying it, there's plenty of improvements on the gameplay side that you won't see from such a small sample.
As mentioned numerous times, very compressed, poor quality vid. Need a decent uploader.....now;
Footplanting - needs to be felt, rather than seen for a couple of minutes from a poor upload
POE coaching - needs to be noticed over the course of a game. 12 min quarters will be even more noticeable aswell.....
I think the general feel, animations, shots being different all the time, these small amazing things, again, get this game in your lounge and the amazement will begin......
And after these points, I still liked the vid! For what it was, quality and length etc, couldn't have expected more.....
Get a decent upload, maybe a Czar vid on strategy or plays etc and we will all be OMG (ing) in our pants! Haha.....
Amazing press release today - thanks 2K - GREAT work!
Looks great overall, I am disapointed there still seems to be a robotic look to some animations, but still VERY impressed overall.
One of the biggest weaknesses in 2k has been the lack of variety in the post offensively. I hope to see more next gen.
sounds like you and I had the same expectations, a blur between fantasy and reality
in the trailer, hard to tell it was a video game. the way they moved, the way they animated. in this preview you could tell from the first frame that its a video game
After watches this video a few times it definitely doesnt do next gen justice...
First off gamespot started the video off with current gen game play that totally takes away from the game at the beginning, and they merge current gen warriors into the next gen ones...
second, like everybody has said, playing this game on your 1080p tv, in 60 fps, on a fresh tv screen with the ps4 running and powering everything it will look immaculate... I also think it will look smoother then what we saw in this little video..
third, we really cant judge what it will FEEL like, you can form an opinion on what some of the animations may or may not look like but again thats more graphics and flow if anything, I think the game will have good weight to it and play good
as a side note I will be using broadcast view maybe zoomed in 1 or 2 notches to get the players a little bigger and to see all that detail in full glory... Pumped!!!

Impressed, but the hype died down just a little bit for me:
Some of the animations didn't seem as fluid as I'd hope on the next gen version. Minor complaint, seeing that it's already a great game to play on the current gen systems. Love the updated TV-like overlay. Glad to see they didn't simply rehash some of the presentation overlays from the current gen version.
Now that I have a general idea on what's to come (instead of my own formulated expectations), the wait won't seem as long as it once did.
Hats off to the 2K team for setting the standard in sports gaming. Amazing job across multiple platforms.
Right new dualshock. new interfaces... plus all the new features the system has itself... just uploading vids of me doing people dirty online lol... Im thinking about the whole picture too... games and systems combined!! new era
The people pulling out the pitchforks because the reviewer didn't sing undying praise is somehow more comical than sad. You don't need anyone's opinion to help validate your purchase. It ultimately boils that that you're upset that he didn't say what you wanted to hear. Get over it.
That being said, I'm impressed. Foot planting seems as if it was finally addressed and the little details and nuances that were displayed were great(although none of the players wearing warm ups was off putting) The graphics don't 'wow' me, but given that this is the first iteration of the series on the new consoles, they will only improve and that's scary - because they're already damn good.
My only gripe is the gameplay critique. I'm not too caught up on it because I honestly didn't expect it to be totally different, and given that, once again, it's the first on the next generation of consoles, I anticipate that by 2016(or, if they make the gameplay jump that was 2K6 --> 2K7) next year, the gameplay on current gen will feel superannuated in comparison.
All in all, the objective should be to evolve and innovate, and detail wise, they are most def making astounding progress from what I've seen. If they can do the same with the gameplay - as I suspect they will - then we all will be in for a great experience this generation.
They have my purchase and I'm thoroughly anticipating 2Ks arrival on release day along with my PS4...I only hate that I'm not going to have adequate time to play this until the holidays. Should be a hell of a game.
Can't wait to see on gameplay in native 1080P, the snippit from gamespot doesn't do it justice but really happy they could give us a sneakpeak even if their vid is compressed so much.
Overall can't wait! if those HD screens are anything to go by then I can't wait.
Graphics look great but not a huge leap...IMO the expected leap so no complaints visually. Not worried at all about the way it "looked" like it played because I don't think it will be possible to tell any difference regarding game-play unless you are actually playing the game and feeling all the subtle nuances of control and AI improvements.
I don't get how some people are thinking all of a sudden basketball is going to look and play different?...Basketball is basketball...Football is Football...Soccer is Soccer. Once you get the basics of the games down there will not be that much changing outside of visual improvements, the feel of the game, animation quality and artificial intelligence.
In general I think many people have unrealistic expectations for all of these next gen games. This is not like the jump from Ps2 to Ps3 or Xbox to Xbox 360...Visuals in all these games are getting to the point that you would need a hologram for them to look any better. I want to see smarter game-play in these games, better quality of online play and options.
I couldn't agree more. Unless the sport itself were to change drastically what could people possibly be expecting?
Better graphics, and more importantly better A.I., are what I'm most excited about.

I respect that but live got trashed with its lone vid to. So to me 2k plays the same as current. Plus I'm playing current now.
This guy only likes things that aren't popular or receive negative receptions.
Bioshock Infinite 4.0
Skyward Sword 7.5
Last of Us 8.0
Infamous 2 7.5
Ugh didn't realize the guy speaking was the same guy but it explains his pessimism. There should be a disclaimer on everything he does.
As for the video I was a little disappointed with how similar it looks to cg. As others mentioned its not necessarily a bad thing but afterreading earlier that "its not a port, its been built from the ground up" I was expecting to notice an immediate difference (aside from graphics). I hate to jump the gun but seeing the leap that was made from 2k6 to 2k7 on 360 I am expecting that next year will be a huge gameplay upgrade while this year is mainly graphics, presentation, and improved game modes.
anyone else notice when they showed the dude on the bench laughing or whatever his leg went right through the other guys, nit picky i know lol but jus something i noticed
