What i meant by that is that they haven't solved some of the problems that, let's say, Live 10 had. D Roses dunk looks choppy as ****, it's like his arm is being magnetized towards the rim. The ball physics seems weird - like it's only a few grams. Of ball movement seems to be lacking. One of the biggest selling points for EA's next gen sports titles was "Living Worlds", where the atmosphere would really come to live....
if it wasan't for nba the life, there would be no mycareer/myplayer or jordan moments. show some respect lol. they brought another narrative to the genre even if the gameplay was hokey. it was marketed as arcade, not sim though.
The game was trash to me.
I'm not gonna lie to myself and praise a finished game for having a couple innovative features when the real meat of the game is garbage.
Well I just watched it for the 5th time and I want to know, what in the world happened to Rose's defender? And why is this guy in the NBA? He makes no reaction to Rose at all, he just stands there and Rose blows past him. Normally when someone gets beat to the basket it is because they get juked out for go for a steal at the wrong time, in this trailer the guy is just standing there arms extended and Rose goes by him.
Does anyone think it looks/plays better than current gen 2K?
Does it look better? That is subjective. I will say the dribbling overall looks better because it has signatures in it. The player models are not doing it for me though. If I zoomed in on the players in 2K current gen it would be a push. Live has better faces but lacks fluidity. Do I think it will play better than current gen? Too early to say because this is a trailer.
Ay man....you need to fall the hell back!!! I can say whatever the hell I want!!! How you take it is up to you. But you don't ever tell me to stop anything. Yes this is my opinion I never said it was fact. You assumed I did. That makes an *** out of ubut damn sure not me CLOWN!!! SMH
PREACH!!! If this game hits their sales projections this year, then this will be how Live next gen will continue to look with upgrades here and there. Neither company cares about competition more than the dollar, it's business. It's in our best interest as gamers to only buy things that are worthy, because if we buy trash, they will assume we want more trash.
i think it goes the other way. if they hit there sales it means they made the game play good enough. then they can start workign more on the graphics and animations instead of having to redo the dribbling again. or it could go the madden route and they deceide to redo everything every year no matter what it looks like
Positives: The dribbling looked good. The shots look spot on, the animations looked better. Not bad. Wasn't as good as 2K's trailer, but not bad.
Negatives: That Steve Nash clip still made me hurl. The net physics are still lackluster, but not enough to take you out of the immersion. No, the PS2 like dunk animations where the fingers don't even connect on the rim do that for you. That last dunk was bleh.
Edit: Looking back at some of the dunks...there was 1 nice dunk, and that was the D-Wade dunk. Everything else was meh. It's like there was something missing from them. I think it was because I could only get a sense of ferocity from D-Wade's dunk. The others didn't have enough force IMO.
The trailer was good, and I will be getting live on release AT THIS POINT. The animations still are live 10ish. But the game speed looks more realistic, and if this is a cleaned up version of live 10 then 14 will be good for me. I am more of a game play guy and this trailer showed alot of gameplay. All I want is a game that values basketball strategy as opposed to a video game turbo/dunk fest.
I agree with what a few others have said about the players looking "plastic". It's like a bunch of dolls running around out there. At the :12 second mark, Kyrie's armpit looks like a Ken Doll. Steve Nash looks like Crispin Glover in "Back to the Future".
As far as the actual gameplay goes, it seems really stiff. Paul George going through the lane and then throwing up a floater just didn't look fluid. Once I see more actual gameplay, rather than speed up and slow down trailer footage, it might seem different though.
Pretty much agreed. Not that the 2k trailer was perfect but there were a couple places in THAT trailer where I was like HOLY COW! -- for instance, the Lebron block or the dunk and reaction of Anthony Davis.
I am not ready to call the fat lady just yet. They have some positives in there. They have something they can build off of for the future. Dribbling looks nice and intuitive, and the atmosphere looks good. Animations can be cleaned up and the player models can use more polish. The sweat looks a bit off. The ball and net physics could use a little more polish too.
I am happy that another basketball game is on the market!!!!

Lol. Hommie...... its an internet forum. Isn't that serious.
Looks like Live 09 with next gen textures. Dunks looked awkward save the windmill. Dribbling looked pretty good. I also wish EA spent more resources on the area surrounding the court. I wanted the baseline to have more characters as well as the bench. Coaches probably still don't sit down. I just wanted the atmosphere appearance to be better. The crowd looks good though. I'm sure it sounds great.
I think until EA gets rid of anything that is tied to the ANT system, its going to continue to move like hot garbage. All of these players moving and dribbling like they swallowed half a bottle of caffiene pills is ridiculous.
I still see how they purposely tried to hide stuff like how the game looks in real time zoomed out. Rose's dunk was awful, and the defense seems dumber than rocks in the paint.
Just like Felton did, Amare disappeared on that layup (what the heck is up with players disappearing) and overall the movement makes the already bright colored players look like puppets.
The dribbling was cool, but I was doing similar stuff in Live 10, and the worse part about that is, you can only do stationary dribbling stuff, none of that stuff can be done while moving to throw the defender off.
I see ALOT of legacy issues in this game which is what I was hoping wasn't true, and all of the people saying that Steve Nash clip was an old build because of how it was recieved, do you still think it was an old build?
