Gotta love when people say don't get hyped on graphics when we've never had any like this before. If Current i pretty good minus some issues then i'm sure next gen will be as good or better.

and its not real gameplay footage. its cinematics like you said.

If using the term cinematics instead of CGI is a better way of putting it, then I am fine with that.

But they are the same thing, its semantics

Ok now 2k I know the graphics is insane but I need to know whats going on under the hood.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

CGI refers to pre-rendered scenes that don't use the interactive real-time engine, and thus can't give you any idea of what the game will look like.

The trailer features replays, which use art assets the normal game uses and animations that are actually played during gameplay. Real gameplay might not be completely smooth in terms of say, running transitioning to a dunk, but what you're seeing is gameplay. Merely edited gameplay from fancy angles.

Not pre-rendered clips. Not cut-scenes that have nothing to do with action on court.

That is most likely what the real gameplay footage is giong to look like
Lol. Whut? A next-gen game with amazing next-gen art assets, animations, and lighting will magically turn into PC current gen with current gen lighting, old art, and old animations once you press a button on the controller.

Oookayy, Kyrie.

Cutscenes use the game engine.
Cinematics are pre rendered.

What you see in that trailer is certainly not cinematics lol. It's not 1999 anymore.

2k is just like Lebron James, just when we said they can't any better, they shut us up and shown how much better they gotten

Youre right though. I put cutscene somewhere in there at first. Its the wrong term. Cinematic like someone said is the proper term. Cutscenes will still have the same graphics as gameplay but you just are not in control. For example, in Metal Gear that hes talking about, when a badguy sees you and the camera pans over to him and shows his reaction with the "!" over his head, thats a cutscene. When they show you the 15 minute video, thats the cinematic. (I know you get it, thats for him lol)

If 2K still has legacy issues such as questionable online play, rebounding issues and 3 point shot cheese then a minor graphical leap will not be enough for me. Again...I love what it looks like but for me its not a huge leap graphically...Its about what I expected.
Not a huge leap?? You sure you didn't watch that NBA Live teaser instead of the NBA2K14 Next Gen trailer?

When people say its gameplay footage they are talking about real gameplay when you are in control not when the computer is making the graphics better because its a cut scene.

Will Association be bare bones? I'm a franchise guy and if it doesn't have everything CG has for association then I may pass on this.

Are you actually being serious? What do you do for a living? Welcoming people into walmart?

You have a completely idiotic understanding of what the difference between CGI and gameplay is. THIS IS CGI! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPCoVWK5yXA

Can you see the difference? Please tell me yes. PLEASE! I'm telling you that you are 100% wrong.

"cutscenes look better than what you see in-game." I just have to laugh at this because 2K Sports doesn't use cutscenes. Unlike NBA Live, which does cut in between gameplay with pre-planned cutscenes. The difference between a cutscene and IN- Game is that the cutscene will be the exact same everytime. It's not dynamic.

"go check out the NBA 2k14 PC version on max settings."That is most likely what the real gameplay footage is giong to look like."

GO FIND THIS STORE!

Everything you see in this Trailer is not CGI. It's not pre- rendered. It's real gameplay. Everything is being pulled from the IN-game Engine. Next Time before you start an argument, how about showing some intelligence going into it.

He thinks this completely computer generated video that is not taken from the actual game, he is a lost cause. He will just have to wait to be proven wrong. I was bored so I tried my best.

Aside from pre-game intros and that kind of thing, 2K's trailer doesn't even show "cinematics" because you WERE in control.

Your gameplay is just being replayed zoomed in at a gorgeous angle.

Do you think little elves in your PS4 go and create a non-interactive "cinematic" from scratch every time you dunk and get a highlight?

I wasn't going to get this game because I'm not a "basketball guy." Well notice I said I wasn't going to...

This doesn't look like 2k11?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HCFQMCGS2s

It does to me, 2k11 played the same way without the fancy editing.

This new 2k14 doesn't have fancy editing, just camera angles. I think it will mirror what we see in this trailer
