I have wondered about all this myself. For example is the LeBron path to greatness mode featured in next gen? And if so are there any signigicant changes/upgrades? In regards to the improved player emotion and animation.....I would love if they did halftime interviews with star players (have it animate similar to LA Noir or the video game James next gen reveal trailer) as far as the audio for the interviews since not all NBA superstars would be able to record specific dialogue. What if they just used old archived audio interviews from specific players and used that? They could do it to where there was an interview at halftime just as a player is headed to the lockerroom and another interview after the game on court...same as an actual NBA broadcast. I'm also wondering how the pre game video intros are going to look on next gen with these graphics wow.
I really wonder if My Player's post game interviews will look more like LeBron's reveal trailer. One of the weakest things about the game was the flapping jaw and that same bored hand on cheek animations.
Also the way the teams former or current starting PG would always glare at you. What did I do to incur your ire, Steph Curry? I modeled my player after you, I didn't choose to be drafted by the Warriors! Please don't be mad at me!
So, I would be right to assume we got no new player images today? Man, 2K needs to continue to help me scratch that itch. More player images, please!!!!!!
They said it would be a unique experience. Don't remember them saying the game was built from the ground up.
This is what was said. Does not mean rebuilt from the ground up. They don't have enough time and people to do that AND still ship 2k13 and 14. It takes a couple of years to build a game from scratch.
I really hope the presentation package is completely new and looks like authentic TV, not the recolored and tweaked version of 2K13's package in 2K14 that looks a little cheap. I'm also not a fan of the players-sucked-in-a-black-hole graphic for starting lineups.
They even lost the Sprite Spark of the game that plays in the 4th-- or is that just me? I know in the past the Sprite Spark didn't play for some folks due to install and cache issues.
I do like the new Sprint Halftime graphic though. Very nice and authentic. They should keep that (or replace it with an equally nice one).

This is one of the main things that I have been wondering. Will Next gen version have a completely different presentation package then current gen?
Just got word that the Battlefield Bundles for PS4 were back on Amazon.com. I checked it out and YES THEY WERE THERE!!! It even gave the disclaimer, " want it the day it comes out, choose release date delivery ". So i bought one, got my order number, signed out of amazon, the called the customer service people after i signed back in. They confirmed my order was there and will be at my house ON release date. Now I AM EVEM more EXCITED!!!
just checked and i guess its sold out already. damn i need to find a system before the 15th...

I agree. It'd be great to see a next generation presentation that was really sharp and realistic. The current offering, from an artistic perspective, is one of the least appealing of this generation. I found 2K13's overlays, wipes, and backgrounds to be ugly and downright distracting. As 2K14 is more of a touchup in that regard and not a complete makeover, the presentation still leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.
Seeing how detailed this game is so far, it kinda makes since to why I didnt really see the normal 2k effort put into the last two 2k basketball games on current gen, theres no way they havent been working on this next gen game for any less then the last two years.
I cant wait to see all the features in next gen, I wonder how much did they put into the game that was impossible to put into the current gen game.

They did not "get lazy" with the current gen, they had two different teams...one for current and one for next gen...so no they didn't put in minimal effort into current gen.

I thought *some* of 2k13's presentation was quite nice, like the cylindrical thing showing the featured players and teams. That part just had too much gold but I liked that a bit more than 2K14's take. All the Jay-Z centric musical/gold-frilly/random shields stuff was the wrong feel though.
2K14's rework basically tones down the highs and lows of 2K13's package. The best parts don't look as good, the worst parts don't look as bad. So, I'd really like to see a whole new authentic broadcast experience on NG 2K14. It just wouldn't feel right to have cheap-ish video-gamey graphics and menus overlaid on top of ridiculously authentic looking players.
