2K Sports has released the first next-gen gameplay trailer of NBA 2K14, weighing in at 1:33 of goodness -- set to "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins.

Do you know it's built from the ground up? I haven't heard anything about a different engine or anything like that. Obviously the graphics will be much better, but i haven't heard much about gameplay.

Also i find it kinda funny how people are like "OMG GUIZE DIS DA BEST GAAEM EVAR 2k DA BEST MANE" when we don't know much about the core gameplay lol.

Pretty sure I said when they just zoom out/in after you recently lost control and you get it right back, its a cut scene. When i say cinematic referring to MGS I mean those longgggg videos that are like movies. Same for Final Fantasy and many other action/adventure/rpg games.

Everything about that trailer was absolutely amazing, even the song hope its in the next gen version.

THIS is a perfect example. Highlights being shown. Did people ever watch that and say I WANT TO SEE REAL GAMEPLAY!

I can only credit 2k with making a game look so good people can't believe that it's actually real.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the rest of the game, you have to look at the developer. For example, look at Rockstar. Personally, I didn't think GTA5 could look as good as it does because its on the current gen. But Rockstar is just an awesome developer, they care a lot about their games and it shows. I feel like 2k has earned my trust as a consumer the same way. I feel like they take a lot of pride in their game and its easy to see in the attention to detail. So yea you can ASSUME create a player will be bare bones.. but I'll put my money on 2k to deliver like they usually do.

Just saw your edit. I completely agree. Which is why it makes zero sense for anyone to assume this is CGI. Like when the players are walking out onto the court from the bench before tipoff, anyone who plays 2k sees that every game during gameplay. and those players walk right out and end up doing the jumpball. They don't even cut away for you to say its a cutscene, that guy is just out of his mind.

Thank you 2k. Thats what next gen games should look like. Not that madden 25 next gen 2.0 nonsense EA tryna get us to buy. Just imagine what nfl 2k would look like.

If the game does look that good when you are actually playing then it will be the best looking sports game of all time, and it will be crazy to think what you guys will do in a few years once you harness the next gen consoles power.

This will def. be a launch title for me.

Lol people acting like 2k forgot how to make games. 2k14 CG wa 2k13.5, probably a divided team[if not, that's mad crazy workload![ and making sure nba 2k14 had a smooth launch on CG, a stable launch. This imo, is the real version of nba 2k14. I think they not playing games, sure, there might be bugs but what game doesn't have any?

So how will the Xbox One version stack up? Better looking than Bulls vs. Blazers on Genesis or roughly equal?
