According to the latest NBA Live 14 blog, posted by Executive Producer Sean O'Brien, we should be seeing 5 on 5 gameplay footage very soon with new screenshots and details arriving this week.

That being said, we know how you’re beyond ready to see more game assets and a 5-on-5 gameplay video. It is coming soon. I want you guys to see the game as we near completion to get a real impression (without disclaimers) of what to expect when we hit store shelves.

Between now and then, we’ll be giving you a glimpse of what NBA LIVE 14 is all about. In the next few days, we’ll be sharing a little peek of in-game screen shots and what you can expect to see and experience this fall and we’ll continue to share new assets as we lead up to the launch of the game.

I like the "no more excuses" part.

Ty Stover says to expect something later this week! (as mentioned by Knick9) Believe that!?!?

Problem is, doing it AFTER 2K may be at EA's peril..... whatever EA releases, good chance they get the old "too late - 2K looks much better" response now..... that may not be fair, but its gonna happen and you know it....

EA needed to strike while 2K was busy on current gen! They needed to get the first impressions on next gen gaming and make it "their show" so to speak..... start second and you'll finish second.....(all the Kyrie pics don't really count.....haha).

Now EA, you can break late and still win the race, you just need to dig deep now and really pull a rabbit out of the hat.....

COME ON EA! We all want you to either win, or lose by a nose.....

LOL@ working on something.

It's October. The game should only be getting tweaked right now. Just look at the FIFA 14 gameplay videos. They are awesome.

If you're "working on something" that means putting a trailer together.

How hard is it to hit record on a 60 second video on what you have right now?

That's what's pissing me off about the Live crew. They act like they're holding onto some top secret information.

No. They have to sell this game. If they think they can just show their hand on 11/19 and sell copies, they are sadly mistaken. And this is exactly why I have zero sympathy for them when things go wrong. They're missing in action but yet want people to buy their product? Nah.

Perfect. Absolutely PERFECTLY said. Now I would LOVE confirmation that EA sees this stuff. This is the stuff EA need to see because I have severe doubts in their awareness to very obvious things as stated here...... SHOW US EA. SHOW US (if you can see this.....)

Maybe they are.. nobody knows much about the game right now.

Might be a commercial they're piecing together or several clips of gameplay (don't hold your breath).

After that 2k14 video, ea might need to update their graphics again

Live doesn't have to be better than 2k in every aspect of the game. They just need to put out a competent product with a solid base.

2k's animation system is its biggest strength and weakness. You get some plays that look very true to life, at the cost of player control of the game. I can't count the number of times that I've played perfect defense only to have the opponent or CPU lock me into a 2-man animation that I can't break out of. It is only made worse in player lock game modes where the terrible teammate AI spends 18 seconds of the shot clock dribbling in place only to hoist a 30 foot contested three once every four possessions.

Live just needs to show me a way to play the game where the gameplay is fluid and responsive, and teammate AI doesn't make me want to throw things at my screen. Even if the graphics don't match up to what 2k produces, that's fine. I just want to see a solid base that Live can build on for the future.

So give us the 5 on 5 footage. Let us see what you have cooking.

I guess you've forgotten how bad NBA Live was.

You can 2k all day if you want to and talk about what isnt but this series was that much worse in almost every aspect, from animations to AI to rebounds, etc...

All you keep doing if giving EA a pass for making a crappy game when there is a standard out there. If they can't even reach that then they're no further than they were in 2006

Well they've held on to it for 3 years so it must be pretty good lol

NBA Live games are addicting to me, while 2K games aren't. That's why I love Live. 2K looks much better on paper, but that doesn't matter to me.

Nothing wrong with that man, but in the context of his post he's being completely hypocritical and again its that kind of stuff that sends a message that its okay to be mediocre.

The ONLY difference? Wow man, are you wearing your seat belt? I'm about to take you for a ride.

Let's start with differences. NBA 2K has put out a game the last 4 years. NBA Live has not. NBA 2K resembles basketball. NBA Live does not. They got close with live 10 thanks to Mr.Wang being a part of their team. Maybe 2k felt sorry and decided to lend him for a year. The NBA 2k Developers actually respond to posts on this forum. Shocking! I know!

NBA Live and the whole EA brand focus on cheap gimmicks instead of gameplay to ship their product. We the consumers are not dumb. At least the consumers who frequent these forums. We know whats up. We can't be duked. Thats why you have the madden devs and NBA Live devs cowering away anytime someone has some constructive feedback. The only year NBA Live had guts was when they had that NBA Live dev by the name of REanimator. HE actually stuck it out and was essentially thrown to the dogs. But atleast we had some feedback with the devs. It shows me that they care. After all, people are making these games are they not? I don't want to have the feeling that emotion less robots are simply burning the games to DvDs and shipping out the product after laser typing the cover on.

"The only difference"

Sorry for the rant but when I see posts like this i lose it. Hopefully someone who reads this will learn something.

Cleve.

I wish EA will hurry up and show us this damn game. I own 2k14 and I've finally had a chance to get some playing time in. I believe it is an improvement from last year but I'm not really feeling it. I agree with a lot of you. The animations just turn me off. I understand 2k wanting to simulate real life, but what's the point of playing a basketball game if you don't have total control? I might as well turn my t.v on and watch the game.

I'm not sure how you can say either game does or doesn't resemble basketball. I played 2k14 for the first time last night, and in the three games I played I ran into the same problems I had with 2k13, 2k12, 2k11, 2k10, and 2k9 (with the exception of My Career since that wasn't in 2k9). Players not being aware of where the ball is when going for a rebound, CPU players not boxing out and allowing easy offensive rebounds, players and the ball going through players to complete an animation, etc. Spacing is still an issue, with players running into the paint to drag their defenders in. Yes, it is better than last year, but not by much. Pick & Roll controls are still broken (or maybe it's the AI. Not sure). But I couldn't get a teammate to roll to the basket after a pick to save my life. They would start to go, then immediately run back the other way.

My point is that both games have their issues. One simply does a much better job at dressing them up. Hopefully with the next generation of consoles, they can truly work to correct some of those issues.

You talk about consumers not being dumb, but then bring up your issues with Madden. If consumers are not dumb, then consumers wouldn't buy the same product with the same issues year after year. If you can't reach them through the forums, then reach them through your wallets.
Pick and roll controls are broken? Since when? I find it amazing you can't get a guy to roll to the basket and I'm not trying to be funny on that, I'm dead serious.

# 99 knick9 @ 10/03/13 11:00 AM
Welp, still waiting for Kyrie to make that basket... At this point I think it's safe to say EA lost the little momentum it built from the first trailer and are a little behind schedule. Not the end of the world but whatever they drop next needs to be followed regularly by other news and updates until the release date. Need a proper rollout.

I would not have taken the approach EA has in marketing Live 14. They have put themselves in a tough situation. There is almost nothing they can release at this point that could blow me away.

Unless they have the superior product anything they release will surely be anti-climactic and disappointing at this point.
