In other words... no vanishing players in the retail version. Apologies to those experiencing it in the demo.
So the game is going to ship with vanishing players on PS3 if I'm reading this right.

Might want to let Amazon, Gamestop, BestBuy etc. and any potential PS3 buyers know about this, there are still people who don't connect their system to the internet.

Lol I could only imagine how surprised (churching that word up a lil bit) somebody would be who bought the game day 1 and had have his team disappear Hollow Man style

One person provided a link to an opinion and that is a lot?

I've read 6 weeks old from Twitter from a Game Changer, but that is an opinion, too.

No if you read through this whole thread there are a bunch of people that said it's a very early build...some even mentioned that it's even earlier that the e3 build.

Played a game of the demo last night on the 360. I was the Niners and won 21 to 7. My impressions are this:

Positives:
-Graphics are good, best I can recall this gen
-Game play was pretty smooth and i enjoyed it
-The pace of the game felt good

negatives:
-Too many injuries
-Commentary is still not as exciting as I would like. I know it's not a big deal but better commentary would pull you into the experience more and add to the game.
-I got an interception in the end zone and the computer automatically knelt down for me for the touchback. Only my teammates were near me and I wanted to return it. That should be my decision not handled by the computer.
-Replays are still not up to par as I would like to see. If I have a huge play, I want to see the whole play from snap to finish not just the middle of the play. never understood why they don't include the whole play.

Overall I say it is a fun demo and so far I am impressed enough to say it's worth it for the yearly madden and football fan. Not perfect but could be way worse.

What about for those of us with Season Ticket?

The only thing I've heard is that the demo is at least 6 weeks old and it felt older to the guys at community day than what they played a few weeks ago in the studio. Moody even made a video about it and saying the demo concerned him compared to what he played in the studio 2 and a half weeks ago.

Sounds like smoke being blown to keep people optimistic (not that I have a problem w/ the demo for the most part)

I understand that and maybe it is so.

But then the question must be asked how this issue with players vanishing could've been missed for 6 weeks? Or is EA only testing on xbox360?

Maybe I just don't understand how the procedures work, but it's just very strange to me that if this demo build is 6 odd weeks old, how this issue could've been missed.

Tuning, etc.......

Please take this to the developers. Also, as long as you are here, the holding penalty seems to have disappeared, along with the normal non-DPI and OPI calls. Any way those penalties can be tuned. Same thing with NCAA.

By the way, NCAA has a better pass rush from the outside.

Thanks for looking into it.
We read the threads here, and definitely appreciate the feedback.

Fwiw, all of the community videos were played on dev kits on xbox 360.

EA has no procedure. You see it with the disappearing players, as you have seen it with numerous obvious bugs and glitches that EA has not bothered to rectify in the past. They plug a bunch of code into the computer, cross their fingers and hope for the best. They seemingly have no quality control department.

Meanwhile, you pay for and get sent out a broken, buggy, incomplete game to test out for them and hope for patches to fix it all. Then a patch will arrive that MAYBE fixes the issue at hand, while simultaneously breaking several other features that used to work fine pre-patch. Then they send out another patch to fix that patch and the cycle repeats until the game becomes a drink coaster next to your couch by Christmas time.

I have seen this movie before...

Ok....let's break this down a little.

If your a Madden fan. I am talking you like/love playing Maddens brand of virtual console football, you can't help but be superbly excited for M25.

I have been a staunch critique of M13. I felt hoodwinked last year. I bought it at release (mind you for 44.99 through Toys R Us) and tried for 2 months to make the game just work. Well without being long winded.....I never made it to week 8 of my CCM despite numerous tries with sliders etc etc. The game stunk. I went back to 12....which is a solid title. Not great...but very playable save for a couple of flaws which still bug the heck out of me (mostly the passin trajectories).

I love NCAA 13 because of the new passing system and IMO it was a really fun game. I wanted that same passing system for Madden.

Fast forward to now.

I am stoked. The game is far better than M13's retail copy. And this is a bare bones demo.

They have a fully featured Franchise Mode coming back.....I loved M13's draft system, storylines and scouting....but never got to play it because the gameplay was so horrid on the field.

Well gameplay on this demo with adjusted sliders playing on slow has so far been fantastic.

Again....if your a Madden fan I truly believe we are getting the best Madden this gen.....bar none.

Can't wait to play NFL football again.......FINALLY!

Thank you EA for putting in the effort to tune the IE big time. And the visuals? Brothers....this is the best looking Madden game I have ever seen. I can only imagine how awesome it will be when I play on Zoomed (my preference) the field, players and hits are going to jump out of my screen.

Madden Share people......Madden share!!!! Roster makers here will take this game to another level. being able to play with Marino, Montana, Sanders, Deion, etc etc.....how can a Madden fan not be extremely excited for this release?

I have not had this much fun with Madden since Madden 10 and before that Madden 07 for XBOX/PS2.

Ok enough.....for those who know how I approach sports gaming.....this title will be highly enjoyable....trust me.

Are there things that still need work? Absolutely. Stadium crowd swells need to be more alive. Presentation although much improved still needs more TV style broadcast quality. But Make no mistake the play by play is the best I have ever heard for Madden (not saying a lot but massive improvement). Would I love 2K5 presentation? Of course....who wouldn't.

The new replays are far better than M13's abortion. The stat swipes are far better than any previous Madden ever. Things are looking slick. And I am digging the original Madden music. It sounds pretty epic. I would like my NFL films music back....I would like my soundtrack back (Madden 10 and 11 were awesome soundtracks).

The game is not perfect.....but man the fun factor has been turned up to 11. Seriously fun times ahead.

This.

Product demonstrations (demo) is a fairly accurate representation of the final product. Otherwise, it would technically be false advertising. You would be pretty pissed if you test drove a demo car, placed an order based off that test drive experience, then received the car but with a different engine & brake system. Whether its 'better' or not is irrelevant, the product you ordered is not what your received.

In the title menu change the difficulty from pro to rookie. Once you do this, go back into the skills challenges, and it will walk you through it

Well i hope you guys are also following the cpu vs cpu franchise thread. Bring it back

I played the skills training game on ALL-Pro and I was able to get all the instructions on screen of what to do.

PS3 Player.

I guess it works for some and not for others. I also have not seen the invisible player bug....PS3.

I know it is happening...strange it happens to some and not others.

Perhaps you can enlighten me as to the appeal of this mode?

When I want to watch a football game between two teams that I do not control, I opt to turn on the television and take in a real football game.

I am merely trying to understand the need for this feature you speak of.

Beecause whats the point in having owners mode back if u have to play it? As a owner all i should be doing is hiring coaches, setting my roster, drafting, and handling tickets prices. I wanna see the team i build play without me playing it. I think takes the fun out of it. I have enough friends that i dont need to play a offline franchise.
