This was the most blatantly buggy and ridiculously incomplete demo I have ever played. In 1 game I had over 15 abdominal injuries, dissappearing players, the most absurd auto subs I have ever seen, which REALLY ruined it for me. I only had my starting WR in for about 1/4 of the game, because the cpu kept auto subbing my guys out at the drop of a hat, and then sit them for the next 2-3 SERIES!! There are just so many glitches each year, unless somebody gives me a free copy, I will not be purchasing this year. Too many bugs, and it gives me no confidence that they even really care anymore.......

With adjusted sliders, this game plays nice.

If you don't move the sliders off default, this turns into a different game and not for the good.
Which sliders are you using?

Here is what I'm fiddling with.

QBA for both- 20, might try 15 next.
Pass Blocking- 25 for both
Run Blocking- 35 for both. Lynch and Lacy still had some good runs.
Pass Reaction- 60 for both
Pass Coverage- 60 for both
Tackling- 55 for both
Int's- Might lower to 40.

Penalties- 100 for offsides and false start, holdg-55(still none called), FM-35, intentional grounding 75, clipping 54, rtp 54. I might try OPI and DPI ant 1 or 0. Theory is there is tighter coverage with DPI lower.
This is what he said he was using

The bug where if you complete a pass right at the sticks on 3rd down it counts as a completed pass for someone other than the QB is back from M12. Sweet :|

I am liking the demo so far but a lot of these cut scenes need work. They might be better off getting rid of them. Most of the td celebrations are bad. First, it takes awhile
to load and then you lose all the commentary. Sometimes the field looks empty or they are at the other end of the field.

These truck animations are over the top. I'm playing as the ravens and frank gore can hit the hole and have people bouncing off him without him losing any momentum whatsoever. When we all saw that run free trailer we were hoping that this would be a rare occurrence but it doesn't seem that way.

Also these pancake blocks are a little overboard also. After every game Boldin leads the team with pancakes with about 5 a game.

I hope next year they work on pass blocking and bring it to the same level as run blocking.

Is it just me having troubles playing good D?

I've played 2 games, and both times Wilson has completed every pass, he hasn't had an incompletion yet. Also, finding hard to stop Lynch, he's running over everybody! (All-Pro). My coverage seems very soft all of the time, and the completions seem easy.

Enjoying it though, only played 2 games thus far, but find it much more realistic on slow game speed, rather than Normal.

Run blocking is improved, but I still haven't pulled off any monster runs with Lacy as of yet. Screen pass seems to be better this year, especially the WR screens.

The passing game seems a bit too easy at times. I went 16/16 with Rodgers in my second game, and didn't seem to get put under a whole lot of pressure in the pocket.

Will try and some people's sliders and see how I get on.

All in all, not a massive difference from M13, but what difference there is, it's better. But I can see myself becoming bored quick (I did with M13).

After 5 games

Good
- Ngata tried to bring down Frank Gore from behind and Gore stiff armed him and they pushed and pulled each other for 7 yards.

- R. Rice extended the ball over the goal line for a TD while being tackled

- My User controlled DE's aren't getting 10 sacks per game

- TD celebrations are improved

- Running with the QB is more effective than before

- Some of the new moves look great and I was able to recreate the donte hall back step with Ray Rice

Bad
-WR streaks are undefended versus zone just like M13. Wait for the receiver to regain his footing after a press and he will be open over and over

-I'm not a fan of the extreme close ups of the poorly annimated coaches. Many of the replays and cut scenes are too close and the coaches look strange.

-Tight ends and FB's can chain together 4-5 moves in a row

- Game froze twice at the start of the halftime show

- I wish the skip scene button was the "Y' button because I accidently skip too many cut scenes and halftime

CPU hurry up is ridiculous and unrealistic. They get to the line of scrimmage and the snap off in an insanely fast manner. There's no way refs could possibly spot the ball that fast. The players couldn't get lined up that fast either. Plus the players suffer no fatigue at all. Receivers will run 40 yards down the field on an incomplete pass, sprint back to the line of scrimmage, and sprint full speed on their next route again 40 yards down the field. They don't even get tired and this is in the 4th quarter. C'mon.

And defenders get all discombobulated. With defenders guarding the man on the opposite side of the field. Maybe it's a clutch QB thing but, the hurry up is ridiculously overpowered.

My ony suggestion is try to turn off accelerated clock. Not sure if it will help, but it might help get the D set up with a bit more time.

Came away unimpressed from the demo. The game was about what I expected it to be. Not saying it's a bad game or anything. It just feels like more of the same which is fine if you really enjoy the Madden product.

Guess it's wait and see what EA brings to the table next gen. Though, my faith in Madden ever being able to grab my attention like it did many years ago dies a little more each year.

The clock only accelerates when the team huddles up right? Obviously on an incompletion its stopping anyway. And I don't believe its accelerating when they complete the ball down field and not huddle. Guys are running 2 second 40's to get back to line of scrimmage and the ball is snapped within 4 seconds. Usain Bolt ain't that fast. Let alone some 60 year old refs who would be spotting the ball.

I thought the demo was good. Crisper graphics, the replays which I thought would be awful, were actually quite good and occasionally you would get some from a over the top angle. You can't deny the player graphics and models are really improved. A much cleaner look. The silly animations of players flopping around from last year are gone. Also changed the game speed from default Normal to Slow and it played much better. The camera can be changed in the full, retail version. So I am not too concerned about that. Overall a buy from me.

I've played two games with accelerated clock off and I haven't encountered what you are encountering, yet.

As noted in an earlier post, I've been able to audiable pass/run, pass coverage, lb shift, line shift and edge rush all before the ball is hiked.

I'll continue to look for no huddle.

Agreed. Liked what I saw. I'll buy it. Thought is felt like a much cleaner M13 (which i liked).

+ Looks like kick and punt returns are doable
+ Default game speed was near perfect IMO
+ New animations were noticeable
+ Thought atmosphere was better. Felt more football like and less video gamey

- DPI and OPI are still flat out broken. Why put the slider in there if it is still broken?
- Commentary felt stale

# 557 Stormyhog @ 08/14/13 01:58 PM
I wish their was an option to adjust replays. I don't need a replay after almost every play. They should have an option so you can have them shown less frequently. I like them but it drags the game to much when they keep showing them. Plus I tire having to always press the button to bypass them when I want.

Yeah, I've been able to make necessary adjustments as well under normal circumstances. The cpu offense has slowed down compared to the past as far as quick snapping everything is concerned. But 3 times now on end of half/game situations the cpu offense goes into hyper/cracked out mode and the speed realism goes entirely out the window.

Played a game with these slider, and the game was pretty solid. Still cant get a pass rush only rushing 3 or 4, and I understand that you dont always have pressure, but 7-8 seconds is a long time to be in the pocket. QB accuracy for the CPU was 62% (Rogers)

Another example of bad AI form the late half CPU.

I have already encountered the one when they call time outs (game is tied) and they leave me enough time to score and either win or tie the game.

Here is the latest: Tie ball game with under 45 seconds to go in the first half. They have the ball inside my 30 and two time outs left. They pass the ball, complete it, and call a time out. Now they are at 18 seconds to go. They run the ball I stop them and they dont call a timeout. They run another a play with about 7 seconds to go and I tackle them as time expires. They still had a timeout left. Weird
